The Georgia Bulldogs football program has offered a scholarship to talented defensive end Jalen Thompson.
Thompson is 6 feet, 4 inches and weighs 240 pounds. He plays high school football for Cass Technical in Detroit, Michigan. Thus far, Thompson has received scholarship offers from Pittsburgh, Michigan, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Kentucky and others.
The Cass Technical star athlete is a member of the class of 2023. Thompson is wrapping up his sophomore year. Thompson is unranked as a recruit.
What makes Thompson a special defensive end prospect? He reads the offense well in the run game and can easily disengage from blocks. Thompson shows versatility and lines up at both defensive end and defensive tackle in high school.
Last season, Thompson put up impressive statistics. He recorded 8.0 sacks, 15 tackles and two forced fumbles. The unrated recruit would project as a 4-3 defensive end or a 3-4 defensive end at the next level.
Thompson announced his scholarship offer from the University of Georgia via his Twitter account:
