Jae Crowder shared a hilariously petty request about getting revenge on the Suns

Crowder could barely contain his joy over getting revenge.

Jae Crowder’s never had one consistent team for too long. In 14 seasons, the veteran role-playing forward has played for eight different franchises. Crowder’s most memorable stint was probably the two years he played with the Phoenix Suns, who fell just short of the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2021 NBA Finals.

But with Phoenix trying to retool around Kevin Durant now, the Suns ironically traded Crowder to Milwaukee earlier this month. Given the wonderful memories he created in the Arizona desert, it would’ve been understandable if Crowder was upset by the move.

We had such confirmation on Sunday as Crowder’s Bucks met the Suns for the first time.

After Milwaukee pulled off a massive 104-101 victory, Crowder (who made two vital three-pointers) was interviewed about his thoughts on overcoming Phoenix and was rather honest:

He basically asked his Bucks teammates to beat the Suns. Hilarious.

Look at the pure joy on Crowder’s face before he even shares his reaction about revenge. This man clearly had this specific matchup circled on his calendar the moment he had to call Milwaukee home.

Given the caliber of his talent and scoring ability, the Suns understandably might be in a better place with Durant. But should Phoenix make another run to this summer’s NBA Finals, it may face Crowder’s Bucks — the Eastern Conference’s current No. 2 seed — for a chance at the title.

If it comes down to it, you have to think Crowder will relish another chance to make the Suns regret ever sending him away.

Five Boston Celtics buyout candidates for the 2023 NBA postseason

With the $3.2 million disabled player exception available to be used to sign a player in the last year of his deal or a free agent, the Boston Celtics will be able to offer more salary than most other teams.

“Boston is going to pick off whoever they want on the buyout market,” said an anonymous source to Celtics Blog’s Keith Smith regarding the team’s plans for team building beyond the 2023 NBA trade deadline. “They have money and minutes. And they’re a title contender. That checks all the boxes.”

With the $3.2 million disabled player exception available to be used to sign a player in the last year of his deal or a free agent, the Boston Celtics will be able to offer more salary than most other teams, as well as being a contender with some real needs to be filled.

The league awaits potential buyout options that could hit the market soon that might be up the Celtics’ alley — let’s dive into some of the better options out there.

The NBA trade deadline has passed and now we enter buyout season. Over the next few weeks, we will see several big-name players, usually on expiring contracts, potentially negotiate an early release. Once these players clear waivers, they will likely be pursued by the best teams in the league in hopes of adding extra juice for a playoff run. The deadline for players to get waived and retain playoff eligibility is March 1.

Report: Nets to send Jae Crowder to Bucks for five second-round picks

The Brooklyn Nets will flip Jae Crowder to the Milwaukee Bucks for five second-round picks.

The Brooklyn Nets are not done making deals as the trade deadline continues to approach. After making a huge deal by sending Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns for a huge haul centered around Mikal Bridges, they made another move for one of those pieces acquired from Phoenix.

Jae Crowder was acquired in that deal and he will not be playing for the Nets. Instead, he will be flipped to the Milwaukee Bucks for five second-round picks as Brooklyn continues to hit the reset button and try and move on from what can only be described as a failure of an era between Durant and Kyrie Irving.

Crowder has not yet played a game in the 2022-23 season as he was sitting out with the Suns. Now, he will look to make his season debut for the Bucks as the Nets look forward to what they hope will be a better future.

The Suns are favorites to make the NBA Finals with Kevin Durant, but another team is still in the way

The Suns are favored to come out the West. That’s where it gets interesting.

While you were getting some much-needed beauty sleep Wednesday night, the Phoenix Suns were exploring ways to expedite their makeover. That led to one of the biggest trades in years.

Phoenix acquired Kevin Durant and TJ Warren from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and four unprotected first-round picks. While the Nets didn’t exactly lose by getting such a great haul in a deal that seemed necessary, the Suns are definitely the biggest winners here.

With Durant, they have a starting lineup that can compete with anybody, and the betting odds at BetMGM reflect that. Phoenix went from +1800 to win the NBA title — sixth-best in the Western Conference — to +450, which is second-best in the entire NBA.

Now favored to win the West, Phoenix will have to start by making up ground in the standings. The Suns are in fifth place, with 8.5 games between them and the first-place Denver Nuggets. They’re still second overall to the reigning East champion Boston Celtics, who have +350 odds to win the title.

If Phoenix can stay healthy, the odds makes sense. Outside of Denver, which was beginning put some distance between itself and the Memphis Grizzlies, the West appeared to be wide open. The Suns give the conference another potential heavy hitter, and one that won’t be easy to slow down — even if they’re playing the Celtics.

The Suns were in the NBA Finals themselves just two years ago, and last season’s playoff letdown ultimately stemmed from Chris Paul wearing down in the playoffs and Devin Booker being unable to carry the load offensively. Durant’s presence lessens the burden on each.

When the Nets traded James Harden to the Sixers at last year’s deadline, it felt like the pinnacle of crazy trade deadlines. Well… this year’s deadline has already featured two star players getting moved by the same team, including one of the greatest players to ever be traded mid-season.

In what was a shocking development, the Brooklyn Nets are moving Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns for Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson, Jae Crowder, four first-round picks, and a first-round pick swap.

Here is an analysis of the trade and how it impacts both teams.

Report: Nets expected to explore trade scenarios for Jae Crowder

The Brooklyn Nets will continue to explore trade possibilities for Jae Crowder after the Kevin Durant deal.

The Brooklyn Nets pulled off the biggest trade of the season in the wee hours of the morning on Thursday, sending Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns for a big package centered around Mikal Bridges. The idea appears to be that the Nets will hit the reset button with Bridges being the guy to focus on in Brooklyn.

Along with Bridges, the Nets also received Cam Johnson, a slew of draft picks, and veteran Jae Crowder. While Bridges and Johnson are expected to be big pieces of what the Nets want to do moving forward, it appears Crowder is not.

With the trade deadline set for 3 p.m. EST, the Nets are expected to explore more trade possibilities for Crowder.

Crowder, along with Bridges, were starters for the Suns when they reached the NBA finals in 2021. Crowder hasn’t played in the 2022-23 season as he continues to try and find the right fit for himself.

The Miami Heat are usually one of the more active teams ahead of the trade deadline every season. They’ve made a mid-season deal in each of the previous five years, ranging from small financially motivated deals to ones involving rotation players.

This season they seemed primed to at least make a small deal, such as one involving Dewayne Dedmon. As mentioned in HoopsHype’s trade guide, the Heat are just $192,895 below the luxury tax and could use some more breathing room so they can do other things around the margins, such as converting Orlando Robinson to a standard contract.

But knowing the Heat, they’ll always be in the mix for adding players who can improve the roster since they’ve been committed to chasing a title since bringing in Jimmy Butler. Depending on the player, they will have the challenge of coming up with a framework that sends trade partners assets while also remaining below the luxury tax. Miami can trade up to three first-round picks now which are likely reserved for an All-Star pursuit. They also have just three second-round picks to offer in smaller scaled deals.

Below is a list of players they’ve been linked to and what a potential framework for them could look like.

Ranking the 20 most interesting NBA players who could get traded and where each may go

A look at the players who could be dealt by Thursday’s NBA trade deadline.

The NBA trade deadline is one week from Thursday, and while it might seem quieter than normal, there could still be a lot of activity.

Even if there isn’t a looming blockbuster move like when the Nets and Sixers swapped James Harden and Ben Simmons last season, there are teams around the league that could have an entirely different roster before the beginning of the All-Star break.

While there are some obvious sellers (e.g. Pistons, Hornets, Spurs, Rockets), others (e.g. Raptors, Pacers, Jazz) have slightly less clear intentions.

Based on the latest rumors and intel provided by insiders around the NBA, these are the players considered most likely to get traded — and where each player is rumored to go.

But remember: The trade deadline is always full of surprises. No one in the league predicted the Kings would have traded Tyrese Haliburton last season! So in addition to these players, expect the unexpected.

Report: Bulls, Suns discussed Coby White trade for Jae Crowder

Both White and Crowder have been in trade rumors all season long.

With the trade deadline just 10 days away, the Chicago Bulls must decide on their future fast.

One decision that seems to already be made is the future of Coby White with the Bulls.

Chicago declined White’s fifth-year option, setting him up to hit unrestricted free agency come this summer.

Reported by Matt Moore of The Action Network, the Bulls discussed a swap of White with the Suns for disgruntled forward Jae Crowder.

The Bulls and Suns have had conversations about a deal involving Coby White for Crowder in recent weeks, but no real traction is thought to be present.

Acquiring Crowder would speak to Chicago’s reluctance to act as sellers at the deadline, despite sitting as the No. 10 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Though it feels like White may not return this offseason if not traded, the Bulls won’t deal him away for nothing as he’s proven to be valuable to their rotation this season off the bench.

Now, is White enough for the Suns to part with Crowder? Likely not, but White would be an upgrade for Phoenix’s backcourt depth as they attempt to make another deep playoff run.
