Ohio State football misses on four-star offensive tackle

Ohio State misses on four-star offensive tackle #GoBucks

Ohio State football fans have been closely following the recruitment of four-star offensive tackle, Jackson Lloyd, and he has finally announced his commitment. The massive lineman from the state of California has announced his decision to commit to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Lloyd is seen as one of the big fish in the class of 2025 as a consensus top 20 offensive tackle in the class and he is heading down South. The blue-chip recruit chose Alabama over the Buckeyes and other national powers such as the Oregon Ducks.

With impressive size at 6-foot, 7-inches and 290-pounds, he already had Big Ten starting size. This commitment shows that Kalen DeBoer is going to keep the recruiting train that is Tide football on the tracks. As with all summer recruiting news, nothing is official until pen meets paper and this provides Ohio State with a sliver of hope still.

4-star offensive lineman Jackson Lloyd announces commitment date

4-star offensive lineman Jackson Lloyd out of Carmel, Calif. set to commit Tuesday

One of the top offensive line recruits, Jackson Lloyd, is set to commit to one of six schools on Tuesday and the Oregon Ducks are hoping they will be the big winners.

The 6-foot-7, 290-pound lineman from Carmel, Calif. is rated as the No. 16 offensive lineman in the country in the Class of 2025 and No. 13 in the state of California.

Oregon is in competition with the usuals such as Alabama, USC, Tennessee, Ohio State and Stanford. While the Cardinal may seem like the outsider here, Stanford has a rich history with this position and it wouldn’t be the shocker to land Lloyd as it seems to be on the surface.

The Ducks have concentrated on the line on both sides of the ball ever since they landed Dan Lanning as the head coach three years ago and on the whole, they’ve been fairly successful in getting their guy.

The Buckeyes hope this visit stays on his mind as he continues the process

The 6-foot, 7-inch and 280-pound mauler was in Columbus over the weekend for an official visit and according to him, he “had a great time.”

Ohio State has made his top six, and has to battle Alabama, Oregon, Stanford, Tennessee and USC for his commitment. Lloyd is ranked as the nations No. 187 overall prospect and 19th offensive tackle according to the 247Sports Composite.

The Ohio State coaching staff is continuously trying to find the next big thing and they may have found it in its most recent offer to four-star offensive tackle prospect, Jackson Lloyd.

Lloyd is a large recruit in the class of 2025, standing at 6-foot, 7-inches and 290 pounds from the state of California. He is a three-sport star, as he plays center on the basketball team and first basemen on the baseball team.

Lloyd has already received a large amount of offers including from Alabama, Oregon State and Washington, but the Buckeyes coaching staff is hoping to make a late entry into the race for his services. Lloyd is widely considered a top 20 offensive tackle prospect in the 2025 class and has the skillset that could allow him to see the field early in the Big Ten.

This offer makes even more sense when you take into account that Lloyd’s first FBS offer came from UCLA, when Chip Kelly was the head coach.
