SIGNED: 3-star wide receiver Jack Ressler is officially a Duck

The Oregon Ducks officially signed 3-star WR Jack Ressler, adding him to the 2024 class.

Besides defense, the one unit that has improved greatly under Dan Lanning is the receiver position. One just has to look at Troy Franklin’s last two season to see that has been the case.

Oregon hopes that continues with receiver Jack Ressler out of Santa Ana, Calif. and Mater Dei High. He stands at 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds. From the sounds of it, Ressler would make a good slot receiver, possession-type guy in the Duck offense.

He had offers from the likes of Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State and Colorado before settling on Oregon.

The Ducks receiver room is quite full, so Ressler might have to redshirt in 2024 and go from there.

Here are some highlights from Ressler:

Ducks jump into top 5 of 2024 recruiting rankings after latest commitments

With two commitments in the last two days, the Ducks have now jumped into the top 5 of the national recruiting rankings.

The Oregon Ducks have been dominating the recruiting cycle on the west coast over the past several months, jumping out to an early lead in the Pac-12 conference and competing with some of the best schools in the nation when it comes to landing elite talent.

Going into the weekend, the Ducks ranked No. 7 in the nation when it came to recruiting standings, boasting commitments from a number of high-end 4-star players like Ify Obidegwu, Aaron Flowers, Jordan Anderson, and Xadavien Sims.

Over the weekend they were able to add a commitment from OT Devin Brooks, the No. 3 player in the state of Oregon, and on Monday they got another commitment from WR Jack Ressler, a standout player from Mater Dei High School.

So where do they now rank in the national standings? Take a look:

The Ducks added a verbal commitment from WR Jack Ressler, one of many Mater Dei products Oregon hopes to land this cycle.

The Oregon Ducks have picked up a second commitment in as many days, landing a verbal from 3-star WR Jack Ressler, an elite pass-catcher from Mater Dei High School.

Ressler is rated by 247Sports as the No. 109 WR in the 2024 class.

He is now the fourth receiver in Oregon’s 2024 class, joining Jordan Anderson, Tyseer Denmark, and Dillon Gresham. Ressler is among the many Mater Dei targets that the Ducks are hoping to land this cycle, going along with Nate Frazier, Zabien Brown, Aydin Breland, and Brandon Baker.

With the commitment, the Ducks have now jumped into the top 5 of the national recruiting rankings for the first time in the 2024 cycle.

Mater Dei WR Jack Ressler names Oregon in his top five, sets commitment date

Earlier this week, the Oregon Ducks received a prediction to land the No.1 OT in the class of 2024, Brandon Baker. On Wednesday, Bakers Mater Dei High School teammate, Jack Ressler announced his top 5 schools via 247Sports, which includes the Ducks.

Oregon has drawn the interest of quite a few recruits from Mater Dei High School in the 2024 cycle, including 4-star DL Aydin Breland. While Ressler only announced his top five, he is expected to join up with the Ducks according to a 247Sports crystal ball prediction of 100% confidence.

While most outlets only rate Ressler as a 3-star receiver, he still has the potential to be an impactful player. In high school, he has demonstrated the ability to find soft spots in zones, sure-handedness catching the football, and has been a reliable target.

Currently, Oregon has a star-studded WR class, but many of those stars will be on their way out soon, so a receiver like Ressler — that is less likely to transfer away than a more highly-rated recruit —could be a key pickup for the Ducks.
