Top in-state target commits to Georgia, more options available to MSU football

Georgia has taken one of the top prospects out of Michigan in 2026, but options still remain for MSU:

One of the biggest and best prospects in the state of Michigan’s 2026 class is now off the board. Saline (MI) tight end Lincoln Keyes has made the decision to make his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs. Both Michigan State and rival Michigan will miss out on the top prospect.

For Michigan State, they will target 1-2 tight ends in the 2026 recruiting class, with multiple tight ends being the more likely scenario.

While Keyes is now off the board, there are still a plethora of targets for MSU to target in the state in 2026. Detroit Catholic Central’s Jack Janda will lead the list for the Spartans, who will go head to head with their rival Wolverines (who hold the crystal ball lead) for the local talent. Second on the list will be Lincoln Watkins of Port Huron Northern High School. He holds 15 power conference offers despite not holding an MSU offer, which should be coming soon. Other than the big two left on the list, prospects like Charlie Jilek (Portage Central), Ryan Rocheleau (Lake Orion) and Maximus Jansenvanvuren (Waterford Mott).

Wisconsin football offers top-ranked class of 2026 tight end

Wisconsin football offers top-ranked class of 2026 tight end

The Wisconsin Badgers extended an offer to fast-rising class of 2026 tight end Jack Janda on Monday.

As UW begins to shift its focus from its 2025 cycle to the class of 2026, Janda becomes the latest offensive weapon to earn an offer from the Badgers. The Orchard Lake, Michigan product joins the group of RB Jaeden Hill, WR Madden Williams, ATH Jakob Weatherspoon, WRs Kennan and Jarod Pula, ATH Sharroid Whitehead and ATH Brandon Brown Jr. as players that have received a Wisconsin over the last few weeks.

The 6-foot-6, 230-pound three-star represents Catholic Central High School in Michigan. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 24 tight end, No. 9 recruit from Michigan and No. 426 overall recruit for the class of 2026.

Like so many of his contemporaries, Janda also holds several offers from some of the most high-profile programs in the nation thus far. Miami (Florida), Michigan, Oregon, Purdue, Illinois, Cincinnati and Kentucky are among the list thus far.

247Sports’ crystal ball prediction links Janda to the Wolverines. The forecast derives from Michigan insider Steve Lorenz with medium confidence. On3’s recruiting prediction machine also heavily favors Michigan and assigns the 2023 National Champions nearly a 53% likelihood to secure the rising junior.

With Janda, Wisconsin has now offered 13 tight ends for its class of 2026. Rivals has Luke Fickell’s class of 2025 at No. 6 in the nation with 19 players committed thus far.

Michigan football gets prediction for in-state tight end

Yes, please. #GoBlue

Michigan football currently has one tight end committed in the 2025 recruiting class in Alcoa (Tenn.) three-star Eli Owens. And the Wolverines have their sights set on another big prize in the 2025 recruiting class in Central Valley (Pa.) Southern Lehigh four-star Andrew Olesh, rated by 247Sports as the No. 84 player in the country overall. Olesh isn’t committed, but does appear to be trending more and more to the Wolverines, though Penn State looms large.

And now the Wolverines are setting their sights on some future classes.

Rock-solid with predictions, The Michigan Insider’s Steve Lorenz logged a 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction for an in-state prospect in the 2026 class in Orchard Lake (Mich.) Catholic Central three-star tight end Jack Janda.

Rated No. 434 overall and playing in Michigan’s backyard, the Wolverines could use a local product to start off the proceedings when it comes to building out the 2026 class.

Janda has some big-time offers from schools like Kentucky, Miami (Fla.), Oregon, and Wisconsin. At this juncture, there is no obvious timeline for his decision.
