7 Alabama commits to participate in Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game

Seven Alabama commits will participate in the annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Football Game on Dec. 16

The Alabama football program is annually represented at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. This year will be no different. Seven Alabama commits will suit up for Team Alabama in this year’s classic.

The seven Alabama commits that made the roster are Saraland wide receiver Ryan Williams, Clay-Chalkville cornerback Jaylen Mbakwe, Brookwood offensive lineman William Sanders, Gadsden City safety Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., Central-Phenix City defensive lineman Isaia Faga, Ramsay linebacker Quinton “QB” Reese, and A.H. Parker defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman.

Several other Alabama targets that will be a part of the game are Tuscaloosa County running back Kevin Riley, Foley wide receiver Perry Thompson, Meridian (MS) running back Daniel Hill, and Houston (MS) defensive lineman William Echoles.

This all-star game typically features some of the top talent in the south. Specifically, the Magnolia and Yellowhammer states. It always seems to be an interesting game between the two states. This year should be no exception.

I think it is safe to say that the Crimson Tide will be well-represented on both sides of the ball Saturday, Dec. 16th. The game will be played at Southern Mississippi’s M.M. Roberts Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET

Florida looking to get Utah DL commit on campus for official visit

After stopping by the Swamp recently to see the Gators in action at practice, defensive lineman Isaia Faga is planning on taking an official visit to Florida.

The Florida Gators hosted Phenix City (Alabama) defensive lineman [autotag]Isaia Faga[/autotag] on a visit over the weekend, and the three-star recruit is likely to return to the Swamp in the future for an official visit, according to 247Sports.

“I am for sure going to take an official visit to Florida. 100%,” Faga said. “We are talking about going in June, so I don’t know if my dad can make that once because he’s on deploy watch. He would most likely miss the visit if it’s in the summer, but that is okay. He got to see everything on the visit this past weekend.”

A Utah commit, Faga is still planning on using all five official visits he has available. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’s looking to split from the Utes, but the door does seem open for another program to steal him.

Faga says he likes Florida’s scheme and has hit it off with defensive line coach Sean Spencer and graduate assistant Kali James. Spencer as only with the family briefly on this most recent trip, but James was a constant presence. The energy James showed really impressed Faga and is part of the reason he’s so eager to return.

While there is no date set for Faga’s official visit just yet, he does have a rough idea of what his summer will look like. His trip to Texas should come in the middle of June, but that date could also change.

Faga is ranked No. 579 overall on the 247Sports composite and is No. 58 among defensive linemen in the class of 2024.

Alabama offers 2024 DT, Utah commit Isaia Faga

2024 defensive tackle Isaia Faga received an offer from the Alabama coaching staff after taking an unofficial visit for Junior Day. Faga has been committed to Utah since December.

The Alabama coaching staff seems to be recruiting Central High School in the 2024 recruiting cycle. The Tide have extended offers to three Red Devils in Rydarrius Morgan, Cameron Coleman, and Isaia Faga.

Over the weekend, Alabama offered Faga. Faga has been a Utah verbal commit since December.

As a junior, Faga recorded 27 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks. His size and versatility in the trenches stand out in his highlight tape.

Despite being committed to the Utes, Faga could look to re-open his recruitment with recent offers from schools like Alabama, Auburn, Missouri, and Washington.
