What you need to know: NCAA Tournament early look at Friday’s Duke vs. Houston Sweet 16 odds.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The 4th-seeded Duke Blue Devils (26-8) meet the No. 1 seed Houston Cougars (32-4) Friday in a Sweet 16 matchup at American Airlines Center in Dallas. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:39 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we look at Duke vs. Houston odds from BetMGM Sportsbook before making our expert college basketball picks and predictions.

Duke, No. 14 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, has had a bit of a cakewalk thus far in the tourney with a 64-47 win over Vermont in the opening round and a 93-55 monstrosity over James Madison in the 2nd round. G Jared McCain led the way against JMU with 30 points on 8-of-11 from downtown, the most 3-pointers in school history in an NCAA Tournament game. He’s shooting the 3-ball at a 58.8% clip (10 for 17) in the tourney.

Houston, No. 2 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, had to grind out an overtime win with a 100-95 final over Texas A&M Sunday night in the round of 32. Several key players fouled out, but the Cougars were able to hit enough free throws to hold off the Aggies. G Jamal Shead had 21 points and 10 assists while logging 45 minutes. The Cougars had an easier time with 16-seeded Longwood in a 86-46 opening-round victory.
