WATCH: Cowboys rook CeeDee Lamb scores first TD to answer Browns trick play

Cowboys rookie wide receiver Cee Dee Lamb catches first touch down of his career

Welcome to the scoring column, CeeDee Lamb. It looks like there’s going to be another shootout for the Cowboys early in the 2020 season.

After the Dallas Cowboys went three and out on their first series the Cleveland Browns wasted no time attacking the Cowboys banged up secondary.

Wide receiver Jarvis Landry hit fellow wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on a trick reverse pass play for a score to put the Browns up. Once again, safety Darian Thompson was victimized for a big play. The extra point was good and the Cowboys find themselves down early 7-0.

The Cowboys responded quickly on their next drive though. After getting some breathing room thanks to a successful screen play to running back Ezekiel Elliott, quarterback Dak Prescott hit rookie wide receiver CeeDee Lamb for a 43-yard touchdown strike down the middle of the field. This time it was the Browns with the blown coverage.

WATCH: Demario Davis, Drew Brees fire up the Saints before Lions matchup

New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis and quarterback Drew Brees delivered a passionate pregame speech before kickoff with the Lions.

[jwplayer gWrxURr4-ThvAeFxT]

Kickoff is almost here between the New Orleans Saints and Detroit Lions, so of course the black and gold gathered for a passionate speech from team leadership.

That meant a fired-up message from linebacker Demario Davis and quarterback Drew Brees, who have teamed up for these huddles the last two years. Brees traditionally led the speech himself until he missed a few games with a thumb injury in 2019, prompting Davis to step in. And the veteran linebacker hasn’t left the spotlight since.

Hopefully their message resonated with teammates. Even with all the injuries hitting New Orleans on both sides of the ball, they’re still a better team than the Lions — on paper. Now it’s time to put proof to that.
