The Georgia Bulldogs football program landed a commitment from another five-star quarterback, Gunner Stockton. Stockton, a member of the class of 2022, is ranked the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in his class. His highlights are certainly worthy of his impressive ranking.
Stockton plays football for Rabun County High School in Tiger, Georgia. He was originally committed to South Carolina, but backed off his commitment after the Gamecocks fired Will Muschamp and Mike Bobo left for Auburn.
On tape, Stockton is elusive in the pocket, shows off a powerful arm, and has good ball placement. The five-star prospect has good athleticism and speed as well. He’s got a good, quick release and often finds space for his receivers in the back of the end zone.
Gunner Stockton still has another season of high school to improve. He is adept in the read-option game and a threat to take it the distance at the high school level. His biggest weakness is his height at 6-foot-1, but he makes up for it by varying his positions in and outside of the pocket.
The Rabun County quarterback uses fakes to deceive the defense. Although he has a powerful arm, Stockton often puts air under the ball to give his receivers a better chance to catch the football.
