Couch: Analyzing next season’s Michigan State basketball roster

Michigan State basketball could be very good next year depending on how some key roster decisions pan out

Michigan State basketball could be very good next year depending on how key roster decisions pan out.

The Spartans enter the offseason as one of the favorites to win the Big Ten next season, and they could be the stand-alone favorite if Tyson Walker and Malik Hall return. There also would be a trickle-down effect should those two return for another season in the green-and-white in 2023-24.

So how does Graham Couch of the Lansing State Journal envision the Spartans’ roster looking next season? Click on the tweet below to read Couch’s analysis on what the Spartans’ 2023-24 roster could look like:

Matchup analysis, game prediction for MSU-Ohio State from LSJ’s Graham Couch

See how LSJ’s Graham Couch envisions Michigan State’s game against Ohio State playing out on Saturday

It’s Senior Day at Michigan State on Saturday afternoon.

The Spartans will welcome the Buckeyes to the Breslin Center looking to finish the regular season strong with a season-sweep of Ohio State. Michigan State topped the Buckeyes earlier this year by more than 20 points in Columbus.

Michigan State comes into this tilt after a massive comeback victory at Nebraska on Tuesday. That win over the Cornhuskers should have clinched a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the Spartans, but a win over Ohio State would only improve their resume.

Ohio State is also coming into this game on a high note after winning their past two games against Illinois and Maryland (both of which were at home). Prior to those two wins, the Buckeyes had lost 14 of their last 15 games.
