The 2020 RBC Heritage – which begins Thursday – comes on the heels of Daniel Berger’s resurgent playoff win over Collin Morikawa in the Charles Schwab Challenge last week as the PGA Tour resumed its 2019-20 schedule. Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, S.C., hosts another star-studded field including 114 PGA Tour winners. Below, we make our picks and best bets to win the RBC Heritage at BetMGM.

2020 RBC Heritage Betting Picks – Tier 1

Matt Kuchar (+4000)

Kuchar comes off a missed cut in the first tournament back, but he’s still 27th in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings. He tied for second in a strong field at the Genesis Invitational earlier this season.

Kuchar was the runner-up here a year ago and has two other top-10 finishes in his last five trips to Harbour Town. He’s eighth in this field in Strokes Gained: Putting on Bermuda greens over his career.

Branden Grace (+5000)

Grace was right in the mix from Thursday-Saturday last week, as he opened the Charles Schwab Challenge with three straight rounds of 66. He fell down the leaderboard with a Sunday round of 73 to finish in a misleading tie for 19th.

The 2016 RBC Heritage champ tied for seventh in 2015 and 11th in 2017. He has gained 1.84 strokes per round on the field in 16 career rounds played here, according to Data Golf.

Viktor Hovland (+6600)

Hovland, the winner of the 2020 Puerto Rico Open earlier this year, tied for 23rd in his return to competitive golf. He’ll debut at Harbour Town at 38th in the Golfweek rankings looking for his first win in a full-field event. He’s 34th in this field in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee and 40th in Par 4 Efficiency: 400-450 Yards over everyone’s last 100 rounds, according to Fantasy National.

Bubba Watson (+6600)

Watson’s coming off a strong T-7 finish last week and remains a strong value play. He missed the cut in his lone career trip to Hilton Head, but he enters the week ranked third in the field in SG: Off-the-Tee over his last 100 rounds.

Luke List (+10000)

List is coming off a victory in an irregularly strong field on the Korn Ferry Tour last week. The PGA Tour veteran finished sixth at last year’s PGA Championship, showing an ability to compete in strong fields against the world’s best. He’s seventh in the field in SG: Off-the-Tee and has gained 1.07 strokes per round in 15 rounds at Harbour Town.

Sam Burns (+20000)

Burns finished ninth here in 2019 while gaining 2.40 strokes per round on the field. He hasn’t played since a T-36 finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, but he ranks 12th in this field in SG: Putting on Bermuda over his career.

The PGA Tour is back! The Charles Schwab Challenge will be the first tournament held since the cancelation of The Players Championship in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. An expanded and star-studded field will be in attendance at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. Below, we look at BetMGM‘s PGA Tour betting odds to win and make our Charles Schwab Challenge picks and best bets.

The first event to be held without fans permitted on the course will see four of the top five golfers in the Golfweek/Sagarin world ranking, including No. 1 Webb Simpson, try to hold off the competition in a more level field.

The key stats for the 7,209-yard, par-70 Colonial Country Club:

Jon Rahm (+1100)

Rahm, ranked fourth in the Golfweek world rankings, was in proper form as one of the best golfers in the world prior to the break. He has finishes of second, T-3, T-9 and 10th in five events in 2020.

He ranks 12th overall by my stat model over his last 50 rounds on Bentgrass greens. He’s seventh in the field in Ball Striking and fourth in Birdies or Better Gained. He missed the cut at Colonial last year, but he was T-5 in 2018 and T-2 in 2017. He offers adequate value when compared to Rory McIlroy (+700) as the tournament favorite.

Justin Rose (+5000)

Rose won this event in 2018 when it was known as the Fort Worth Invitational. His finish at 20-under par is the second-best winning score ever at Colonial.

The 22-time winner around the globe ranks second in the stat model. He was in poor form early this year, having missed the cut at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the Honda Classic and the Farmers Insurance Open. He’s well worth backing at an inflated price following the Tour’s hiatus.

Jason Day (+6600)

As noted above, these first few weeks of tournament play will be a good time to trust putters. No one has been better than Day over their last 100 rounds on Bentgrass greens. He hasn’t won since doing so twice in 2018, but the extended break has helped him to rest his lingering injuries.

Kevin Kisner (+9000)

Kisner ranks third in the field in SG: Putting on Bentgrass greens. The 2017 champion of Colonial followed it up with a T-52 in 2018 and a missed cut last year, but he was T-10 in 2016 and T-5 in 2015. He has gained an average of 1.53 strokes per round in Fort Worth over 20 career rounds, according to Data Golf.

Charles Schwab Challenge Betting Picks – Long shots

Danny Lee (+12500)

Lee has just one PGA Tour win, but he’s a strong long-shot bet without fan pressure. He has been a steady performer at Colonial CC, making the cut in each of his last five visits with a sixth-place finish in 2017 and a T-10 in 2015. He has gained an average of 1.31 strokes per round across 28 rounds at this venue.

Emiliano Grillo (+15000)

Grillo made the cut in each of his last four trips to Fort Worth, finishing third in 2018 and T-19 last year. His 1.57 strokes gained per round at Colonial rank sixth in the field among those with a minimum of 10 rounds played. The break and the fan-less competition could serve him well as he looks for his first PGA Tour win since the 2015 Frys.com Open.

The 2020 Masters Tournament will take place Nov. 12-15 under the PGA Tour’s revised 2020 schedule. Below, we break down the 2020 Masters betting odds, with PGA Tour predictions, picks and best bets.

Augusta National Golf Club measures 7,475 yards and plays to a par of 72. The 2020 field has been set at 96 golfers. Anyone who wins an event between mid-June and the 2020 tournament will then qualify for the 2021 Masters to be played next April.

Justin Thomas (+1400)

Thomas, the 2017 PGA Championship winner, tied for 12th at last year’s Masters for his best result in four appearances. He made the cut in all four career tries at Augusta. Of his 12 career PGA Tour wins, eight have come between August and December. He won twice in 2019, at the BMW Championship and CJ Cup, and he won the 2020 Sentry Tournament of Champions.

Thomas is one of the best-rounded golfers on Tour, and he ranked fifth with 1.958 total strokes gained per round on the 2019-20 season before the season was put on hold.

Tommy Fleetwood (+2800)

Fleetwood has runner-up results at both the US Open (2018) and Open Championship (2019), but a top showing of just T-17 at the 2018 Masters. A five-time winner on the European Tour, he ranks sixth in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings. His putter has often kept him out of the winner’s circle, but he has one of the best approach games in the world.

Lee Westwood (+8000)

The soon-to-be 47-year-old Westwood was becoming a popular pick for an April Masters before play was put on pause. The midseason stoppage has allowed for his odds to become more profitable again and will return $800 on a $10 bet.

He earned his 41st career victory at the European Tour’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in January, and he tied for fourth at The Honda Classic in early March.

Sergio Garcia (+8000)

The 2017 Masters champ has missed the cut each of the last two years at Augusta and in seven of his last nine majors. He was returning to better form early in 2020, however, as he had two top 10s on the European Tour before a T-37 showing at The Genesis Invitational.

Danny Willett (+12500)

It was Willett who dressed Garcia in his green jacket as the 2016 Masters champion. Willett has missed the cut each of the past three years, but he tied for sixth at last year’s Open Championship. He won on the European Tour each of the last two years, most recently winning the BMW PGA Championship in September, besting a field including Jon Rahm and Patrick Reed.

Corey Conners (+17500)

Conners is my favorite long-shot bet due to his incredibly strong tee-to-green and approach games. Like Fleetwood, he struggles with the putter, but he’s able to give himself good looks and needs to get hot for only four days. He tied for 46th in his debut last year after gaining a late entry with his win at the Valero Texas Open.

The PGA Tour will attempt to resume play in mid-June under a revised schedule for the 2020 season. The 2020 PGA Championship is set to take place from Aug. 6-9 at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco. TPC Harding Park will host a major tournament for the first time. The last PGA Tour event played there was the 2015 World Golf Championships-Cadillac Match Play, won by Rory McIlroy, who currently ranks No. 2 in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings. The course measures 7,169 yards and plays to a par of 72.

Brooks Koepka (+1400)

Koepka has slipped to No. 9 in Golfweek’s world rankings. He was off to a poor start to 2020 with a missed cut at The Honda Classic, a T-43 at The Genesis Invitational and T-47 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational before play was put on pause.

The four-time major winner, and back-to-back winner of the PGA Championship, finished inside the top five in all four majors in 2019. He’s only the No. 4 betting favorite.

Sungjae Im (+4000)

Contrary to Koepka, Im was playing the best golf of his career prior to the break. He earned his first PGA Tour victory at The Honda Classic and finished third at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He has missed the cut in three of four career major appearances, including the PGA Championship and Open Championship last year, but he’s just 22 years old. These odds are much higher than what he was getting early this season.

Marc Leishman (+5000)

Leishman earned a win at the Farmers Insurance Open early this year and finished as the runner-up at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He has never won a major, but he has five top-10 finishes in 33 events. He also made it to the Round of 16 at the 2015 match play at TPC Harding Park.

Francesco Molinari (+8000)

Few in golf needed a break as badly as Molinari. The former Open champion missed the cut in three straight events to begin his 2020 campaign, and he finished just T-53 at the WGC-Mexico Championship. Majors are a different story, and recent champs should always be backed at these odds.

He tied for second at the 2017 PGA Championship and tied for sixth in 2018 before finishing T-48 in 2019.

Bernd Wiesberger (+10000)

The little-known Austrian won three times on the European Tour last year. He didn’t participate in either of the last two PGA Championships, but he is a bargain at these odds based on his success in Europe as he seeks his first PGA Tour win.

Joaquin Niemann (+15000)

Niemann claimed his first professional victory at A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier to open the 2019-20 PGA Tour season before missing the cut in five of his next 11 events before the break. The 21-year-old has made the cut in just one of three majors in his career, but he’s a value as a winner with only 10 golfers holding longer odds.

The 2020 Genesis Invitational hosts a field of 120 golfers this week in Pacific Palisades Calif. Eight of the top-10 golfers from the Official World Golf Ranking are among them, making this the top PGA Tour event of the season thus far. Genesis Invitational – Tier 1

Brooks Koepka (+2000)

There isn’t likely to be anyone in the field this week more motivated than Koepka, who gave up the No. 1 spot in the OWGR to Rory McIlroy Monday morning. With the bump in the rankings, Koepka’s outright odds to win a tournament plummeted. By contrast, Koepka is +900 to win the Masters, +1000 to win the Open Championship, +800 for the US Open and +800 for the PGA Championship.

While he missed the cut in 2017 (his only appearance in the last five years), this is nearly a major-caliber field. Koepka remains second in the OWGR but he’s seventh by the odds this week.

Adam Scott (+3000)

Scott ranks third in this field in Strokes Gained at Riviera among those with a minimum of 10 rounds played on the course. Ranked 14th in the world, he’s coming off a win at the Australian PGA Championship in late December and is well rested. He looks to become the third Aussie to win on the PGA Tour in 2020 behind Marc Leishman and Cameron Smith.

Genesis Invitational – Tier 2

Collin Morikawa (+4500)

Morikawa has never participated in this event, but he offers adequate value after routinely being priced among the favorites in the weaker early-season events. He still hasn’t missed a cut as a professional, and he ranks 18th by the overall stat model as a great ball striker.

Kevin Na (+6600)

Na tied for 33rd last year following a co-runner-up finish in 2018 and a T-4 in 2017. He rebounded from a missed cut at the Waste Management Phoenix Open to tie for 14th last week at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He’s one of the best in the elite field in SG: Around the Green.

Genesis Invitational – Longshots

Jason Kokrak (+10000)

Though he lacks the winning pedigree of many of those in the field, Kokrak has done well at Riviera. He has made the cut each of the last five years at this event and was a co-runner-up in 2016. He ranks sixth in the field in total strokes gained over that those five appearances.

Francesco Molinari (+12500)

Yes, this is the same Francesco Molinari as the 2018 Open Champion. He enters the week ranked 24th by the OWGR, but he was inside the top 10 as recently as September. He’s coming off missed cuts at the Farmers Insurance Open and The American Express, but these odds are laughable for one of the best iron players in the world.

Rory McIlroy (+600)

McIlroy’s a heavy betting favorite in his first event of 2020. He won his second-last worldwide event of 2019, the WGC-HSBC Champions in early November. It followed up his 2019 Tour Championship win en route to being named the PGA Tour Player of the Year.

He finished T-5 at this event last year, and enters this week ranked first in the field in both SG: T2G and SG: BS to lead the stat model. Four of the last five winners here came from inside the top 25 of the Official World Golf Ranking. McIlroy ranks second.

Tiger Woods (+1100)

Tiger has owned this course, winning this event seven times along with the 2008 US Open. He’ll be looking to tie Jack Nicklaus’ record of six Masters Tournament wins in April, but first, he can break the tie with Snead. He was T-20 here last year and T-23 in 2018.

Gary Woodland (+2200)

Woodland is discounted among those at the top of the board. The 2019 US Open champ enters the week rank 15th by the OWGR. This venue is much longer than Pebble Beach Golf Links, where he won last year, but it is a US Open course and distance has never been an issue for him. He picked up a T-9 here last year, five months before his major win.

Jason Day (+4000)

Day enters the week off of an injury, which forced him to pull out of the Presidents Cup. Before that, he missed the cut at the Mayakoba Golf Classic, and he hasn’t won since the 2018 Wells Fargo Championship. Two of his 12 career victories have come at Torrey Pines, though, and he managed to finish in a tie for fifth last year. He leads the field in Sand Saves Gained.

Marc Leishman (+5000)

Leish is a bargain in an event where they’re hard to find due to the influx of talent this week. He’s ranked 28th by the OWGR but is only 19th by BetMGM‘s odds. He’s ranked 10th in the field in SG: BS, and he tied for eighth in 2018.

Keith Mitchell (+20000)

If you absolutely hate betting favorites, shoot your shot with Mitchell. One of the longest hitters on Tour, he’s more than up to the task of taming Torrey Pines. He’s third in the field in SG: BS and BoB Gained.

Rose has three top-10 finishes in majors over the last two years, including two at the U.S. Open. He hasn’t missed the cut in a major since the 2017 PGA Championship. His best odds for 2020 come at the Masters, where he missed the cut in 2019 to snap a streak of five straight top-20 showings there.

QBE Shootout odds, predictions, picks and PGA Tour best bets

Analyzing the 2019 QBE Shootout and which teams of golfers are the best options for the event. Who will win at Tiburon Golf Club?

Twelve two-man teams will compete in the QBE Shootout at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Fla., this weekend. The 54-hole event runs three days, from Friday through Sunday.

The first round is played under scramble rules, whereby both members of each team will play every shot with the better ball being taken each time. Round 2 consists of greensomes, where both players tee off on each hole and the alternate shot is played from the spot of the better ball.

The final round is played under standard four-ball rules with each golfer playing the hole on their own and the best score being taken.

The 7,288-yard venue plays as a par 72. The teams compete for a $3.5 million purse, but it is not an official money event and no FedExCup points are awarded.

QBE Shootout – Odds, picks and best bets

Viktor Hovland-Matthew Wolff (+600)

The two combine for just 42 years of age, making them younger than several of the individual golfers in this event. Hovland is expected to be a top contender for PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, while Wolff came up just short of the award last year.

Hovland, 22, placed solo fourth at last season’s Wyndham Championship for the best result of his young career. He’s ranked 96th by the Official World Golf Ranking, while Wolff, who got his first career win at the 3M Open last summer, is 117th in the world. Their odds are lower as fan favorites, but the youngsters have the length and putting, and the motivation for the early-career win in an uninspired field.

Charles Howell III-Bubba Watson (+800)

Watson, ranked 44th by the OWGR, is coming off a last-place finish at last week’s Hero World Challenge. Howell, ranked 54th in the world, missed the cut at the RSM Classic as his last event. The two combined for four victories in 2018.

Howell finished tied for third here last year with partner Luke List. Watson was sixth with Harold Varner III.

Charley Hoffman-Kevin Kisner (+1200)

Hoffman also finished T-3 a year ago (with partner Gary Woodland), while Kisner finished last with playing partner Cameron Champ. Kisner tied for seventh at last week’s Hero World Challenge exhibition. The two have plenty of length off the tee, and Kisner, who’s the defending match-play champion, can get hot and carry the team with his putter.

Hero World Challenge odds, predictions, picks and PGA Tour best bets

Analyzing the 2019 Hero World Challenge and which golfers are the best options for the event. Who will win at Albany?

Host Tiger Woods and 17 more of the top golfers in the world are in The Bahamas this week for the Hero World Challenge. The condensed field consists of six of the top 10 golfers from the Official World Golf Ranking, including Woods and defending champ Jon Rahm. It is played at Albany which measures 7,302 yards and plays as a par 72.

The showcase tournament is the final standard stroke-play event on the PGA Tour in 2019. The Presidents Cup and QBE Shootout will run next week. There’ll then be a brief hiatus before the Sentry Tournament of Champions and Sony Open kick off the 2020 portion of the schedule in the first two weeks of January from Hawaii.

The small field and champion pedigree of each of those in attendance means bettors need to adjust their strategies this week. Make fewer, larger wagers while focusing on those at the top of the board. Only three golfers — Bubba Watson, Kevin Kisner and Chez Reavie — have odds greater than +3000. Don’t go chasing higher payouts, as each of the past four champions entered the week ranked inside the top 10 of the OWGR.

Woods has won this event five times but not since 2011 and never at this venue. He claimed his first victory of the season at the Zozo Championship in Japan in late October but hasn’t played a pro event since. He finished second-to-last here last year, but he has since climbed to No. 7 in the world. Woods has the fourth-best world ranking among those in attendance and is fourth by the odds at BetMGM in a rare case of him not being overpriced as a public favorite.

Xander Schauffele +900

Schauffele enters the week ranked ninth by the OWGR. He most recently finished as the runner-up at the WGC-HSBC Champions following a T-10 at the Zozo Championship. He debuted at this event with a T-8 finish last year. He has been an excellent early-season performer over his young career and looks to stay hot ahead of his defense of the Tournament of Champions next month.

Webb Simpson +1200

Simpson is the second-best putter in this field behind Jordan Spieth (+2500), who will not be winning. He is coming off a solo runner-up finish at the RSM Classic and sits at No. 11 in the world ranking. This is his debut at Albany, but Rahm won in his debut a year ago.

Analyzing the 2019 RSM Classic and which golfers are the best options for the event. Who will win at Sea Island GC?

The PGA Tour’s final full-field event on the 2019 calendar takes place this week in Glynn County, Ga., at Sea Island Golf Club with the RSM Classic.

The key stats for this week via historical data from Fantasy National are:

Webb Simpson +900

Simpson is the top golfer in the field with a rank of 12th by the Official World Golf Ranking. He finished solo third here last season and finished T-7 at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in his most recent event. He leads the stat model with top-five ranks in four of the five key stats.

Kevin Kisner +2200

Kisner won at Sea Island in 2015. After missing the cut the following year, he was T-4 in 2017 and T-7 last season. Ranked No. 34 in the world, he’s third in the field in par-4 efficiency from the key distance. He has gained more strokes per round at this venue than anyone other than Simpson (minimum 20 rounds played) since 2010, according to Data Golf.

J.T. Poston +5000

Poston missed the cut here each of the last three years, but he’s coming off of a T-24 at the HSBC Champions and T-27 at the Zozo Championship in far stronger fields.

Stuard ranks third by my stat model this week with a top rank of 11th in the field in SG: Around-the-Green. He finished T-23 last week at the Mayakoba Golf Classic and tied for fourth at the Shriners earlier this year.

Luke List +10000

List finished in a tie for fourth last season and tied for 13th in the fall of 2016.

Mackenzie Hughes +15000

The 2016 champion missed the cut each of the last two years, but he’s priced near the bottom of the board with a $10 bet returning a profit of $1500. He missed the cut at the OHL Classic the week before his 2016 victory so his current poor form isn’t a huge concern.
