The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won yesterday’s Week 15 matchup against the Detroit Lions 38-17, doing so without their top wide receiver Mike Evans, who was lost for the season after suffering a hamstring injury against the Indianapolis Colts the week before.

Now, the Bucs may very well have to finish the final two weeks of the season without their top two receivers after third-year man Chris Godwin went down in the third quarter of yesterday’s game in Detroit with a hamstring injury of his own.

And, even though Tampa Bay is 7-7 and riding a four-game winning-streak, they’ve already been eliminated from the playoffs. So, with only two weeks left in the season, it seems unlikely that Godwin will come back, at least according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

If it is the end of the season for Godwin, what a season it was. He set career highs across the board in receptions (86), yards (1,333) and touchdowns (9).

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost their Pro Bowl wide receiver Mike Evans last week after he suffered a hamstring injury on a 61-yard touchdown. Evans has been ruled out for the remainder of the season because of the injury, which meant Chris Godwin would need to fill his shoes as the team’s No. 1 receiver.

But, Godwin suffered a hamstring injury of his own during today’s tilt against the Detroit Lions, and has been ruled out for the rest of the game. Godwin finishes the day with five receptions for 121 yards.

We don’t know yet if Godwin’s injury will keep him out for the last few weeks of the regular season, but, if he does return, he still has a shot at breaking the franchise’s single-season receiving mark.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston, who threw four interceptions last week against the New Orleans Saints, threw one on the team’s opening drive today against the Atlanta Falcons, on the Bucs’ second play from scrimmage.

But, as has usually been the case with Winston, he followed up a bad play with a spectacular one, like this 71-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Chris Godwin on the Bucs’ very next drive.

For Godwin, it was his eighth touchdown reception of the season, a new career high for the third-year receiver out of Penn State. The 71 yards also puts him at 958 on the season, meaning he’s inching closer to the first 1,000-yard receiving season of his career.
