Alabama football countdown to kickoff: 38 days

We are now just 38 days away from the start of Alabama’s 2023 football season!

The Alabama Crimson Tide will take the field for the 2023 college football season in 38 days, as Middle Tennessee State visits Bryant Denny Stadium on Sept. 2.

Here at Roll Tide Wire, we will be counting down the days until Nick Saban and his team take the field.

With 38 days remaining, we will take a look at a former standout running back, [autotag]Glen Coffee[/autotag].

Coffee ran for 2,107 and 14 touchdowns during his Alabama career, including a dominating junior season where he accumulated 1,383 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.

Coffee last played for the San Francisco 49ers in 2009 before he abruptly retired after just one season.

Alabama football countdown: 38 days until kickoff

We are 38 days from Alabama football kicking off its season on the road against the Missouri Tigers to start a 10-game, SEC only schedule.

There has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding college football over the last couple of weeks, but as of right now, the season still looks like it’s a go for the SEC, ACC and Big 12.

So, what does that mean? It means that we can continue the Countdown to Kickoff en route to the Crimson Tide — and the rest of the SEC — getting things underway on Sept. 26.

With it now being Aug. 19, we are officially 38 days away from the start!

Sophomore Jalen Edwards, a walk-on defensive back from Columbus (Miss.), currently wears the No. 38 for Alabama. The most notable player to wear the number, however, was former Tide standout Glen Coffee, who was Nick Saban’s first running back.
