Watch Steelers punter Pressley Harvin III pull off the perfect punt

A perfect punt by Pressley Harvin that deserves your eyes.

Steelers punter Pressley Harvin III had one hell of a debut in the Hall of Fame. The Steelers drafted him with the 254th pick in April’s NFL Draft to compete to be the team’s punter and he might have won the job with one kick.

Right before the halftime during the Hall of Fame game, Harvin boomed a punt that pinned the Cowboys at the one yard line. Harvin put the perfect spin on the ball, allowing it to essentially bounce in place before his teammates were able to down the ball.

Not even to disparage the other plays in the Hall of Fame game, but it was legitimately one of the best plays of the game.

Harvin is somewhat of a legend, showing off some serious throwing chops while he was punting at Georgia Tech.

Football is back and that means punters are back.

CHARLOTTE — There was not much news coming out of Day 1 of the ACC Football Kickoff at the Westin in Uptown Charlotte, but Pittsburgh wide receiver Jordan Addison did make things a little interesting.

During an interview with 105.5 The Roar on Wednesday, Addison indicated there could be some issues in the locker room when it comes to the new name, image and likeness rules in college athletics. The Panthers’ star receiver believes the success of individuals when it comes to NIL could possibly divide a locker room, especially those that maybe don’t have the right culture and leadership in place.

North Carolina linebacker Tomon Fox was surprised to learn of Addison’s comments.

“I know it can vary from team-to-team. I just know, our guys, we are not like that,” he said. “We are not going to envy each other. We either get what is ours and we help each other out. Then, if we don’t get something, we are not one to whine about something like that.”

Fox’s quarterback, Sam Howell, does not have any shortage of NIL opportunities, but he understands it can be a sensitive subject in the locker room and he is trying to manage it the best he can.

“I think the main thing for me is I want to keep the main thing the main thing, which is winning football games,” the UNC quarterback said. “You want to take advantage of the opportunity you have. I’ve done some things, partnered with a charity called Table in Chapel Hill. We deliver meals to underprivileged kids come Chapel Hill.

“That’s my first partnership. I’m looking for more opportunities, things where I can involve my teammates, give them some opportunities as well. I think there’s a good place for it. I just want to make sure as a team we keep the main thing the main thing, and that’s winning football games.”

Georgia Tech quarterback Jeff Sims says they cannot go around bragging about what they get to teammates because that is not what they are worried about.

“We are worried about winning and everyone is on the same page,” he said. “I have not heard anyone talk about that since it started.”

Top recruit from each team Notre Dame will face in 2021

The Irish could face some very good true freshman this fall

The recruiting world has changed, no longer do prospects who are highly ranked have to wait their turn when they arrive to their respective college campuses. Each year more and more true-freshman get significant playing time and the opportunity to make an impact. Here are the top incoming recruits, according to the 247Sports composite rankings, from each team that Notre Dame will face this fall.

Notre Dame receives commitment from 3-star safety recruit Devin Moore

There’s another secondary commitment for the Irish.

At the start of the weekend, Notre Dame’s future secondary received a boost with the commitment of cornerback recruit Jayden Bellamy. Now, it can say it’s receiving a second boost. This time, it’s coming from the safety position. The latest player to say yes to Notre Dame is three-star recruit Devin Moore of Naples, Florida, who made his official visit less than a month ago and received an offer from the Irish in May 2020:

Like Bellmary, Moore was a target of Marcus Freeman and cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens. Both players also will join the Irish for the 2022 season. To have this coaching duo make this kind of progress this quickly is nothing short of amazing, and it only can help.

The Irish had to battle with a plethora of schools to land Moore. They included Alabama, Stanford, Florida State, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Michigan State, Michigan, Nebraska, Mississippi State, Iowa State and Vanderbilt.

2021 Big Ten-ACC Challenge matchups released

See who’s playing who in this year’s edition of the exciting event.

One of the biggest events of the college basketball season, at least in certain parts of the country, is the Big Ten-ACC Challenge. This is when teams from two of the nation’s power conferences get together to see which of the conferences is better. Historically, the ACC has the upper hand with a 12-7-3 advantage in the series and a 138-113 record. The Big Ten won’t be able to catch up in either category this year’s event, but maybe it can make up some ground with these matchups:

Notre Dame presents offer to combo guard recruit Denver Anglin

The Irish have their latest target for their future backcourt.

Notre Dame has been eager to pursue the combo guard route in its recruiting lately. Last week, the Irish gave an offer to Lawrent Rice of Dayton, Ohio. However, he wouldn’t be able to come to South Bend for another couple of years. Whether it’s related or not, the Irish now have extended an offer to a combo guard who will have to wait one less year to begin his collegiate career: Denver Anglin of Gill St. Bernard’s in New Jersey;

Anglin is going into his senior season, so he already has plenty of offers lined up. They include Northwestern, Stanford, Georgetown, Providence, UConn, Georgia Tech, Penn State, Seton Hall, Ole Miss, TCU and SMU. Many of these schools have strong academic reputations, and Notre Dame is no exception in that regard. He has plenty of options for college, and he really can’t go wrong with any of them, though we’d obviously love to see him in the blue and gold.

Notre Dame cornerback target AJ Harris visits campus

Notre Dame just received a visit from a recruit everyone wants.

With school out for the summer, recruits continue to make the rounds for colleges and universities interested in them. The latest to visit Notre Dame is cornerback recruit AJ Harris, who received an offer from the Irish on Feb. 26. Harris, who is going into his junior year at Glenwood School in Phenix City, Alabama, got pretty much the entire inside look at the Irish. Based on this tweet, it’s hard to conclude otherwise:

It’s already been an eventful summer for Harris. Earlier this month, he paid visits to Alabama, Clemson and Georgia, all of which are considered major contenders for him. Ohio State also is considered one of the leading players for him. There’s no doubt Notre Dame has its work cut out as far as trying to bring Harris to South Bend. It’s part of a long list of schools that have given offers to Harris, including Florida State, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Michigan, Kansas State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami, Michigan State, Penn State, Maryland, USC, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Oklahoma and Texas.

ACC baseball tournament game 13 recap: Duke heads to title game

The Dukies continue their red-hot streak as they win yet again and head to Sunday’s championship game.

Duke baseball stayed red-hot as the No. 9 Blue Devils are headed to the ACC baseball championship game on Sunday after getting by No. 8 Virginia in Satruday’s first semi-final game.

Centerfielder Joey Loperfido got things started quickly for Duke by homering to start the game and give an early 1-0 lead.  He then followed it up with another solo home run in the third inning to to give the Devils a 2-0 advantage.

Shortstop Ethan Murray’s solo blast a batter later then put Duke up 3-0 which would end up being enough thanks to some great pitching the Blue Devils received as Luke Fox went seven innings, allowing just two runs and Jimmy Loper and Marcus Johnson pitched the eighth and ninth innings respectively to close out the Cavaliers.

Duke now advances to the ACC baseball tournament championship game on Sunday where they’ll face the winner of the No. 2 Georiga Tech vs. No. 3 NC State game later today.
