Georgia releases epic hype video before Florida game

Georgia football releases an awesome hype video ahead of the Florida game

The No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs are preparing their rivalry matchup this week in Jacksonville against the Florida Gators. To bring more anticipation, they’ve released a hype video ahead of the matchup.

Georgia’s hype video is narrated by UGA football defensive tackle Nazir Stackhouse, who has been apart of this rivalry for the past four years. Stackhouse describes about the battle of the line.

“The power of the line is where the game is not started, but it is decided on the line where it test everything that each team has with their toughness and connection,” Stackhouse said.

It is something to watch where this team has come off their best performance as an unit against the Texas Longhorns recording seven sacks.

The performance of the offensive line and defensive line are pivotal for Georgia. The Bulldogs need to win the line of scrimmage to beat Florida.

This is a moment in the season where the Bulldogs can continue their momentum and look to play their best football as championship season nears. Georgia plays Florida at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Nov. 2.

Former Alabama commit, 4-star OL names top schools

Four-star offensive line recruit, former Alabama commitment Zykie Helton names his top schools

Four-star offensive lineman Zykie Helton is one of the top recruits in the class of 2026. Helton, who was committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide from July 2023 to March 2024, has named his top schools.

The 6-foot-2, 280-pound interior offensive lineman plays high school football for Carrollton High School in Carrollton, Georgia. Helton is the No. 21 interior offensive lineman in the class of 2026, per 247Sports. The Carrollton star is the No. 30 recruit in Georgia and the No. 259 recruit in the country.

Helton’s top schools are Georgia, Alabama, Florida State, Indiana, Miami, Texas A&M and Colorado. The four-star announced his top schools via social media.

Head coach Kirby Smart and Georgia have a lot of work to do in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Georgia has only two commitments in the class: defensive backs Dominick Kelly and Jontavius Wyman. UGA recently lost a commitment from five-star quarterback recruit Jared Curtis in the 2026 cycle.

Kirby Smart names player that’s made a big jump in fall camp

Georgia football head coach Kirby Smart likes the progress of one of Georgia’s top transfer receivers

Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart likes how Vanderbilt transfer wide receiver London Humphreys continues to improve.

“London (Humphreys) had a big jump from scrimmage one to scrimmage two,” said Smart.

Humphreys finished the 2023 college football season with 22 receptions for 439 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He is poised to step into a large role for Georgia this season. Following Georgia’s dismissal of receiver Rara Thomas, Humphreys could see more early playing time.

It is always an adjustment for transfers that are changing systems. Humphreys and two other transfer receivers (Miami’s Colbie Young and USC’s Michael Jackson) both spent spring practice with Georgia and could be relied on early and often this season. Georgia is replacing four of its five leading receivers from last year.

However, Smart noted Young is dealing with a hamstring injury.

“Colby’s been dealing with a hamstring some, so he hasn’t been 100%,” said Smart. Young figures to be one of Georgia’s top red zone threats this fall.

Overall, Smart is happy with how Georgia’s trio of transfer receivers is looking in fall camp.

“Michael Jackson is a guy that’s been really reliable for us, a hard worker, competitor, continues to improve and get better. I’m pleased with all three of those guys,” said Smart.

We project Michael Jackson to be one of Georgia’s most utilized receivers in the screen game and think he is one of Georgia’s best receivers after the catch.

London Humphreys has the most versatile route tree of Georgia’s three transfers. Humphreys is a deep threat that exploited Georgia for a long touchdown last season.

Social media raves about Ladd McConkey’s NFL combine performance

Georgia football wide receiver Ladd McConkey dominated at the 2024 NFL combine, drawing lofty NFL player comparisons

Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Ladd McConkey had NFL media and draft scouts raving after his spectacular performance at the 2024 NFL combine. McConkey ran a 4.39 second 40-yard dash, which is tied for sixth among wide receivers at the combine.

The two-time national champion ran through the gauntlet drill with ease, plucking numerous footballs thrown his way without dropping a single one. McConkey’s combination of impressive athletic testing, incredible tape and character makes him one of the draft’s most desirable prospects.

McConkey’s NFL combine performance drew praise from Kirk Herbstreit, Rich Eisen, Daniel Jeremiah and more. What did social media have to say about Ladd McConkey’s day at the combine?

Looking at how Georgia football recruited in-state prospects in 2024

Georgia football signed just four top-30 in-state recruits in the Bulldogs’ No. 1 class of 2024

The Georgia Bulldogs finished the class of 2024 recruiting cycle with the No. 1 class in the SEC and the No. 1 class in the country. Georgia won the recruiting title, but the Bulldogs did it without dominating in-state recruiting. Overall, nine of Georgia’s total 28 signees are in-state recruits.

Georgia signed four of The Peach State’s top-11 recruits in the 2024 recruiting cycle. These are the only top-30 in-state prospects that Georgia signed. The Bulldogs did not exactly clean up shop in Georgia, but neither did any other college program. No other school signed more than two top-20 recruits in Georgia.

Now, more than ever, Georgia’s recruiting efforts rely on landing a variety of national recruits from all over the country. Head coach Kirby Smart and Georgia have been able to remain successful on the recruiting trail. However, Georgia’s recruiting does come at a steep cost. The Bulldogs spent over $5 million on recruiting during the 2023 fiscal year.

Seven of Georgia football’s 11 top-100 signees were out of state prospects in the class of 2024. With the new era of name, image and likeness, recruiting at a national level is more important.

Still, Georgia’s deep ties to in-state high schools and longstanding relationships is critical to the Dawgs’ recruiting success. Georgia is one of the most talent-rich states in the country and featured 15 recruits ranked in 247Sports’ top-100 in the class of 2024. The Bulldogs’ inherit recruiting advantage due to having only one other Power Five school in the state (Georgia Tech) does give Georgia an inside track to consistently landing top recruiting classes.

Georgia football trending toward another No. 1 recruiting class

Georgia is ready to sign another elite recruiting class. The Bulldogs have 28 commitments in the class of 2024.

Head coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are recruiting at an elite level. In fact, Georgia is on the way to having the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class in the 2024 cycle.

The early signing period is about a month away. Georgia has 28 commitments in the class of 2024, including one from five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola.

College Sports Wire’s Patrick Conn writes that Georgia’s talented recruiting class could be the Dawgs’ highest-ranked class in years.

Kirby Smart currently has the No. 1 recruiting class for the first time since 2020. That class featured Kelee Ringo, Jalen Carter, Darnell Washington and Ladd McConkey among others who have been key to winning back-to-back titles. Dylan Raiola could be the next big-time commit that can keep Georgia on top. If Carson Beck decides to leave after the season for the NFL, that QB battle will be must-see TV.

The early signing period is Dec. 20-22. The Bulldogs and most other top college football teams will sign most of their talent during the early signing window. The SEC has six of the nation’s 10 best recruiting classes.

On3, 247Sports and ESPN rank Georgia’s 2024 class No. 1 in the nation. Behind the Bulldogs are Alabama, Florida, Ohio State and Florida State.

Georgia also has an early edge in the class of 2025; the Bulldogs hold the nation’s top class that year as well.

Georgia football flips 4-star Florida commit Nasir Johnson

The Georgia Bulldogs flipped four-star Florida defensive line commit Nasir Johnson to add to their No. 1 class

Kirby Smart and Georgia football flipped four-star defensive line recruit Nasir Johnson. Johnson was previously committed to the Florida Gators.

Johnson, who is a member of the class of 2024, has quickly risen up recruiting boards in recent weeks. 247Sports ranks Johnson as the No. 75 recruit in the country and the No. 14 defensive line prospect. Johnson is the No. 15 recruit in Georgia.

Johnson plays high school football for Dublin High School in Dublin, Georgia. The 6-foot-4, 300-pound defensive lineman has excellent size.

Johnson is the latest top recruit to commit to Georgia. The Dawgs have 28 commitments in the class of 2024 and the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class.

The defensive lineman recruit received a scholarship offer from the Bulldogs during a visit to Athens in April 2023. University of Georgia defensive line coach Tray Scott continues to recruit at a high level.

Johnson announced his decision to flip his commitment to Georgia from Florida via social media:

Florida has the nation’s No. 4 recruiting class with 20 commitments. However, the Gators’ recruiting success may be beginning to unravel as they fight to become bowl eligible.

4-star WR Ny Carr decommits from Georgia football

Four-star WR Ny Carr decommits from Georgia football

Wide receiver recruit Ny Carr has decommitted from the Georgia Bulldogs. Carr is a member of the class of 2024 and is ranked as a four-star prospect.

Carr was one of Georgia’s first commitments in the class of 2024. Carr’s decommitment means that Georgia only has two commitments at the wide receiver position in the class of 2024, so Georgia will likely look to add another talented wide receiver recruit.

Ny Carr is ranked as the No. 53 recruit in his class and the ninth-ranked prospect in Georgia. The four-star receiver is ranked as the No. 11 player at his position.

The 6-foot, 170-pound receiver plays high school football for Colquitt County in Moultrie, Georgia. Ny Carr has taken recent visits to Auburn and Florida State.

The Colquitt County star originally committed to Georgia over Michigan, Ohio State, South Carolina, Arkansas, Penn State, Tennessee and USC. Ny Carr plans to play in the 2024 All-American Bowl.

The four-star receiver also plays high school basketball and runs track.

Georgia football is down to 26 commitments in the 2024 recruiting cycle. The Bulldogs still have the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation.

Georgia football’s 5 biggest concerns after Week 3

Georgia football has some serious concerns after Week 3’s win over South Carolina

The Georgia Bulldogs are through the first quarter of the regular season, and Georgia’s schedule to start the year was pretty easy. The Bulldogs (3-0) will not leave home until Week 5 when Georgia travels to face Auburn.

Georgia topped South Carolina, 24-14, in Week 3 after trailing by 11 at halftime. The Bulldogs have looked solid, but not spectacular to start the season.

Georgia is breaking in a new starting quarterback, Carson Beck, and a new offensive coordinator, Mike Bobo, so some growing pains should be expected on that side of the ball.

What are the biggest concerns for Georgia football, ranked from least concerning to most concerning, through three weeks of the college football season?

4-star DB, former Georgia commit, verbally commits to UCF

Former Georgia commit becomes UCF’s top commitment of all-time. UGA football is back to the drawing board at safety in the 2024 cycle.

The Georgia Bulldogs recently lost a commitment from four-star safety recruit Jaylen Heyward. Now, Heyward has committed to the UCF Knights. Heyward did not previously have the Knights in his top schools.

Heyward is electing to stay close to home and play for UCF. His recruitment is not over, but for now he is UCF’s highest ranked commitment of all-time.

Jaylen Heyward plays high school football for Rockledge High School in Rockledge, Florida. Rockledge, Florida, is located southeast of Orlando. Heyward has committed to play in the 2024 Under Armour All-American Game.

The 6-foot, 180-pound defensive back is the fifth-ranked safety in the class of 2024. Heyward is the No. 78 recruit in the 2024 recruiting class and the No. 11 player in Florida, per 247Sports.

Jaylen Heyward runs an impressive 10.68 second time in the 100-meter dash. Heyward’s speed helped him be selected to the 247Sports’ All-Combine Team last year.

Georgia’s safety position should be set for years to come with players like Malaki Starks, Joenel Aguero and David Daniel-Sisavanh. However, the Bulldogs need to target a new safety recruit after recently losing a pair of commitments.

Georgia football has the top ranked class of 2024 in the nation. In addition to Jaylen Heyward, Georgia recently lost a commitment from four-star safety Peyton Woodyard.

Heyward announced his commitment to UCF via social media:
