TV, kickoff time set for Georgia vs. Florida game

No. 2 Georgia and unranked Florida will play against each other in the afternoon on Nov. 2

The Georgia Bulldogs versus Florida Gators game will be televised on ABC. Georgia (6-1, 4-1) is the No. 2 team in the US LBM Coaches Poll. Florida (4-3, 2-2) is unranked, but has won three of its last four games.

Georgia enters the Florida game coming off a massive 30-15 road win over the Texas Longhorns. Georgia looked like a national championship contender again, but will need to beat Florida to keep pace in the SEC championship race.

Both Georgia and Florida have byes this week ahead of their Nov. 2 clash in Jacksonville, Florida. The Georgia-Florida game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Florida will have to battle to become bowl eligible. Florida plays four consecutive ranked teams after its bye week (No. 2 Georgia, No. 6 Texas, No. 7 LSU, and No. 18 Ole Miss). Georgia has a challenging remaining schedule as well with a road trip to Ole Miss and a home game against No. 8 Tennessee on the horizon.

The 2024 edition of Georgia-Florida will be the first time Georgia and Florida have played in recent years in a non-SEC East game. Now, the 16-team SEC has no divisions, but Georgia and Florida remain permanent rivals in the conference.

The Georgia Bulldogs have won three consecutive games against Florida. UGA has won two national championships since the last time Florida beat Georgia in 2020.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart is 6-2 in his career against the Gators. Florida head coach Billy Napier is 0-2 against Georgia. Napier’s Florida teams have lost to Georgia by an average score of 42.5 to 20.

ESPN’s matchup predictor gives Georgia a 79% chance to defeat Florida.

CBS tabs Georgia football for two prime time games

Georgia football’s 2020 schedule is coming into place with two CBS prime time games against Florida and Alabama.

CBS has tabbed the Georgia Bulldogs for two prime time games throughout the 2020 college football season. University of Georgia fans will hope the Dawgs will play in a third (Dec. 19 SEC Championship Game).

Georgia’s two prime time games are: Georgia at Alabama on Oct. 17 and Georgia versus Florida on Nov. 7. Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs travel to Alabama for what is slated to be CBS’s prime time night game of the season with an 8 pm kickoff. Georgia faces Florida at the usual 3:30 pm time slot.

Georgia already knows its SEC-only schedule for the 2020 season. That being said, the Bulldogs don’t know the kickoff times for their remaining slate of contests.

The Georgia Bulldogs traveling to Tuscaloosa to play the Alabama Crimson Tide is anticipated to be the best SEC game in 2020. Will the match up live up to the hype? Georgia’s past couple of games against the Crimson Tide have been nail bitters.

The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party will have a different feel this year. Although it will be at the normal kickoff time the lack of fans and tailgating will be disappointing for many Bulldog and Gator die-hard fans.

Despite the circumstances, from a fans’ prospective, some college football is better than no college football. Here’s a look at the full schedule of prime time SEC games this season:
