Georgia without key WR against Alabama

Georgia football will be without one of its top deep threats at wide receiver against Alabama

The Georgia Bulldogs are expected to be without Vanderbilt transfer wide receiver London Humphreys against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Humphreys, who reportedly has mononucleosis, has two receptions for 63 yards and a touchdown this season.

Humphreys had an impressive touchdown against the Clemson Tigers in Week 1. Humphreys’ speed is something opposing defenses have to account for when he is on the field.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound sophomore receiver has played in three games this season, but he only recorded statistics in Georgia’s Week 1 game. With Humphreys out, Georgia will have to lean more on wide receiver Arian Smith as a deep threat. Dillon Bell, Dominic Lovett, Anthony Evans and Colbie Young all figure to play more snaps with Humphreys out.

Georgia and Alabama will release their official SEC injury report on Wednesday. Georgia is also dealing with several injuries along the defensive line.

“We’re in a good place,” said Georgia wide receiver Arian Smith on the Bulldogs’ wide receiver room. “We’ve made some plays on the perimeter, and helped our team when we needed plays. I feel like we’ve come a long way, and we’ve still got ways to improve.”

Georgia needs more production out of Arian Smith and other wide receivers against Alabama. The Bulldogs had just 160 passing yards in their last outing against Kentucky.

Dawgs 247 reported the news of Humphreys’ injury status.

Five Georgia Bulldogs injured ahead of Kentucky game

Five Georgia football players are injured entering the Bulldogs’ Week 3 game at Kentucky

The No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs are dealing with several injuries ahead of their Week 3 game against the Kentucky Wildcats. Four of Georgia’s five injuries are along the defensive line.

Georgia will be without running back Roderick Robinson. Robinson, who missed Georgia’s first two games, underwent toe surgery and is out for a while.

Georgia’s All-American defensive end, Mykel Williams, is doubtful with an ankle injury he suffered against the Clemson Tigers in Week 1.

Georgia is more likely to be able to play an injured trio of defensive linemen. Jordan Hall (stress fracture), Xzavier McLeod (abdominal) and Warren Brinson (ankle) are listed as questionable.

“Jordan (Hall) and Xzavier (McLeod) have got pads on and got running and moving around doing some functional movement stuff,” said Georgia head coach Kirby Smart. “Got to do “indy” and doing some stuff. We’ll see how it goes. I’m proud of both of them because they’re pushing hard.”

Georgia needs to have as many defensive linemen as possible against Kentucky. The Wildcats look to impose their will in the trenches. Kentucky ran the ball 46 times and attempted just 17 passes in their ugly 31-6 home loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks.

“On Warren (Brinson), he looks good. … He did some stuff (during the week) in the weight room,” Smart said. Brinson missed the Tennessee Tech game after suffering an ankle contusion against Clemson.

The Georgia Bulldogs are ready for another season. Georgia football is coming off winning the 2021 national championship, but that won’t stop the 2022 edition of the Dawgs from being hungry.

Georgia starts preseason practice on Aug. 4. Several Bulldogs like defensive back Tykee Smith, guard Tate Ratledge, and linebacker C.J. Washington are still trying to get healthy ahead of the season opener.

Other Dawgs that underwent labrum repairs like star tight end Brock Bowers, linebacker Smael Mondon, linebacker C.J. Madden and defensive lineman Bear Alexander are expected to be back for fall camp.

Georgia Bulldogs are getting moved in and are ready for camp:

What true freshman will make the largest impact for Georgia football? The Dawgs will look to replace some pass rushing firepower with five-star freshmen Mykel Williams and Marvin Jones Jr. Additionally, Georgia added a ton of great freshmen defensive backs like five-stars Jaheim Singletary, Malaki Starks, and Daylen Everette.

Offensively, Georgia freshman guard Earnest Greene and running back Branson Robinson could both make immediate impacts.

The practice field is ready for Georgia’s fall camp:

The Bulldogs open the 2022 college football season against Oregon in Atlanta. The season opener is now under one month away.

The Bulldogs lead 24-17 with a few remaining in the first.

What a throw by Stetson, Bulldogs lead 14-7

Georgia leads Alabama 14-7 watch here with analysis.

While Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett may have struggled early, with an ill timed pass attempt that what intercepted by Alabama, he’s made up for it with a perfect pass to running back James cook.

Watch it here:

Georgia has recovered quickly from a really sketchy start. Mainly because of line of scrimmage control on key downs.

Stettson had had time to comfortably step in to his throw and running back Zamir White’s touchdown early was a great example as well.

Georgia senior LB Monte Rice a game-time decision for Alabama game

Georgia’s leading tackler Monte Rice is game-time decision for Alabama game. Details her

According to Dawg Nation, Senior linebacker Monte Rice is listed as a game-time decision for Georgia’s matchup with Alabama Saturday night.

Rice is the Bulldogs’ leading tackler and is coming off one of the best performances of his career last week versus Tennessee.

The Huntsville, Alabama native racked up eight tackles, one sack, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and a touchdown against the Volunteers in Georgia’s 44-21 win.

If Rice isn’t able to go, look for junior linebackers Quay Walker and Channing Tyndall to see more of the field.

Both guys are plenty capable of picking up the slack and Tyndall recorded two sacks last week against Tennessee in a small amount of snaps, so the Bulldogs will be fine in the middle whether Rice can go or not.
