TV, kickoff time set for Georgia at Alabama game

No. 1 Georgia and No. 4 Alabama will play against each other at night on Sept. 28

The Georgia Bulldogs at Alabama Crimson Tide game will be televised on ABC. Georgia (3-0) enters Week 4 as the No. 1 team in the US LBM Coaches Poll and the No. 2 team in the AP Poll. Alabama (3-0) is the No. 4 team in the country in both polls.

Both Georgia and Alabama have byes this week ahead of their Sept. 28 clash in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Georgia-Alabama game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Georgia enters the Alabama games as slight favorites. The Bulldogs have won 42 straight regular season games dating to 2020. However, Georgia has lost five of its six meetings against Alabama during the Kirby Smart era.

First-year Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer presents a different challenge than former Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban. Alabama is running on all cylinders after picking up a 42-10 win at Wisconsin last week.

Georgia enters the Alabama game with several other notable streaks on the line. Georgia has won 16 straight road games and 28 consecutive SEC games. ESPN’s matchup predictor gives Alabama a 67% chance to defeat Georgia.

Georgia will have to play better against Alabama than it did last week at Kentucky. The Bulldogs were not impressive in their 13-12 road win at Kentucky and showed several weaknesses.

CBS tabs Georgia football for two prime time games

Georgia football’s 2020 schedule is coming into place with two CBS prime time games against Florida and Alabama.

CBS has tabbed the Georgia Bulldogs for two prime time games throughout the 2020 college football season. University of Georgia fans will hope the Dawgs will play in a third (Dec. 19 SEC Championship Game).

Georgia’s two prime time games are: Georgia at Alabama on Oct. 17 and Georgia versus Florida on Nov. 7. Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs travel to Alabama for what is slated to be CBS’s prime time night game of the season with an 8 pm kickoff. Georgia faces Florida at the usual 3:30 pm time slot.

Georgia already knows its SEC-only schedule for the 2020 season. That being said, the Bulldogs don’t know the kickoff times for their remaining slate of contests.

The Georgia Bulldogs traveling to Tuscaloosa to play the Alabama Crimson Tide is anticipated to be the best SEC game in 2020. Will the match up live up to the hype? Georgia’s past couple of games against the Crimson Tide have been nail bitters.

The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party will have a different feel this year. Although it will be at the normal kickoff time the lack of fans and tailgating will be disappointing for many Bulldog and Gator die-hard fans.

Despite the circumstances, from a fans’ prospective, some college football is better than no college football. Here’s a look at the full schedule of prime time SEC games this season:
