The Alabama men’s basketball team fell in a gut-wrenching loss to No. 8 Creighton on Saturday night. The Bluejays defeated the Crimson Tide by a final score of 85-82.

Alabama has now lost two consecutive games against No. 4 Purdue and No. 8 Creighton. This marks the first time that Alabama has lost two games in a row since the 2021-22 season.

It was a game that was decided in the paint. Both teams combined to make 10 three-pointers. Alabama got in a lot of foul trouble early and was never able to stay out of its own way in that department.

Creighton came away with the win, but Alabama made them earn it. The Crimson Tide will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Phoenix to take on Arizona. Tip-off is set for 11:00 EST / 10:00 CST.

Alabama vs. Creighton: Predictions and analysis

Alabama will take on Creighton on Saturday afternoon in Omaha, Nebraska. Roll Tide Wire provides its analysis and prediction for the game!

The Alabama men’s basketball program will be looking to bounce back from a close loss a week ago to No. 4 Purdue. The Crimson Tide have had a week to prepare for a road contest against No. 8 Creighton.

The Bluejays come into the game with an 8-2 record. Their lone losses of the season came against UNLV and Colorado State. Greg McDermott’s squad loss to the Rebels earlier in the week, so it will be interesting to see how they respond against the Crimson Tide.

Alabama has had its share of ups and downs this season as well. Nate Oats’ squad sits at 6-3 with losses coming against Ohio State, Clemson, and Purdue. Alabama is desperate for a win at this point in the season. That will not come easy, however.

Creighton ranks No. 1 in the nation with 12.6 three-pointers made per game. The Bluejays rank No. 28 on offense and No. 50 on defense in college basketball this season. The offensive production has been there. The inconsistency on the defensive end has been a lingering problem.

Considering that Alabama just scored 91 points against a very good Purdue team, it should be even easier to put points on the board against Creighton. Thus far, Alabama has been led by senior guard Mark Sears. He has been the catalyst on the offensive end for the Crimson Tide.

On Saturday, I expect other players like Nick Pringle, Aaron Estrada, and Latrell Wrightsell Jr. to step up and make some shots. It will likely be an offensive battle in Omaha on Saturday night. With that said, I am going to take Alabama 90, Creighton 85.

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN: Stat leaders from Alabama basketball’s loss to Gonzaga

Roll Tide Wire breaks down Alabama’s top performers after their Game 10 loss to No. 15 Gonzaga.

After a tough three-game stretch, Alabama men’s basketball fell on Saturday to No. 15 Gonzaga. The Tide were able to stay within striking distance for the majority of the game. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs’ hot shooting was too much to handle for the Tide in the end.

The Bulldogs came away with a 100-90 victory in Legacy Arena on Saturday. Mark Few’s squad had just nine turnovers as opposed to the Tide’s 21. That proved to be the deciding factor at the end of the day for Nate Oats’ squad.

Roll Tide Wire takes a look at the stats leaders following Alabama’s loss at the hands of Gonzaga in Saturday’s non-conference showdown.

Alabama MBB battles to defeat Memphis, looks ahead to Gonzaga

Alabama men’s basketball knocked off Memphis on Tuesday by a final score of 91-88. The Tigers defeated Auburn over the weekend.

Alabama men’s basketball program fended off a late comeback attempt to defeat the Memphis Tigers. The Tide clawed its way to a 91-88 victory, but will now have to quickly shift focus to Gonzaga.

Offensively, freshman Brandon Miller led the charge with 24 points. He also added five assists and eight rebounds. Glass-cleaning freshman Noah Clowney led the Tide with nine rebounds.

It took everything the Tide had to fend off former NBA great Penny Hardaway’s squad. After all, this win could look good toward the end of the season.

Alabama improves to 9-1 and will return to action on Saturday in a non-conference battle against No. 15 Gonzaga. Last season, the Tide defeated the Bulldogs in Seattle by a final score of 91-82.

So far in the 2022-2023 season, Gonzaga has lost three games. Though the team is still ranked within the top-25, it’s somewhat of a disappointing start for the annual contenders.

Oats and his team will have to not only focus on the strategic aspect of the upcoming contest, but the physical too. In the game against Memphis, numerous Crimson Tide players battled through minor injuries. Miller finished the game a bit bloodied.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the Alabama men’s basketball program.
