Several 2024 Texas A&M Football commits rise in On3’s newest player rankings

Texas A&M’s 2024 class is loaded with talent, and several commits have received huge boosts in the newest On3, On300 player rankings.

On Monday afternoon, several members of Texas A&M’s Top 10-ranked 2024 recruiting class received significant boosts in On3’s On300 player rankings, while the Aggies’ Team rankings also rose from 9th to 7th, as just two weeks remain before the recruiting dead period ends on Tuesday, July 25.

New Jersey quarterback Miles O’Neill, who committed to the program on June 14, catapulted from being unranked in the Top 300 to his current position at 58th in the country, the most significant rise of any previously unranked prospect in the 2024 cycle, while receiving a four-star designation as well. O’Neill skyrocketing the recruiting ranks is no surprise; his live arm and sneaky duel-threat ability are hard to ignore in a quarterback-rich class.

Five-star wide receiver Cameron Coleman committed to the Maroon and White excitingly on Tuesday, July 4, and ever since that day, his recruiting profile has garnered attention. Rising seven spots from 13th to 6th in the rankings, while it’s hard to imagine him not making his way within the Top 5 by the end of his senior season at Phenix City High School, he is poised to be his most productive yet.

Other 2024 Aggie commits to saw an increase in their rankings include four-star OT Weston Davis (20th from 102nd), four-star IOL Coen Enchols (222nd from 375th), and four-star Tight end Eric Karner (288th from 375th), and now four-star Edge Gabriel Reliford’s meteoric rise from 441st to 121st.

Interestingly, multiple commits saw significant dips in the rankings, including four-star DE Dealyn Evans (67th to 138th), four-star S Jordan Pride (128th to 168th), and most surprisingly, dynamic four-star WR Drelon Millers’ drop from 82nd to 175th. Well, when it comes to rankings by any outlet, they should always be taken with a grain of salt, but as things stand, Jimbo Fisher and his staff are very close to landing a top 5 2024 recruiting class when it’s all said and done.

2024 3-star defensive lineman Gabriel Reliford has committed to Texas A&M

Boom! Texas A&M has landed 2024 3-star DL Gabriel Reliford, adding their twelfth overall commitment in the 2024 recruiting class.

BOOM! Texas A&M‘s recruiting hot streak refuses to stop as they gained their 12th player in the 2024 recruiting class, securing a commitment from three-star defensive lineman Gabriel Reliford out of Evangel Christian Academy. Reliford chose the Aggies over the likes of Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Arizona State, and others.

The 6-2, 255-pound talent is positioned as the 51st-ranked Edge in the class and the 27th-ranked player in Louisiana, according to 247Sports. Despite not boasting the longest wingspan compared to others in his class, Reliford leverages his speed to beat opposing tackles on the edge. With a quick first burst off the line, he has an opportunity to flex his athleticism and versatility as he could possibly transition from playing on the edge to the interior defensive line.

Ahead of making his decision to continue his career in College Station, Reliford camped in Aggieland earlier this month and reportedly showed out in front of Jimbo Fisher and Assistant Head Coach Elijah Robinson.

With his commitment, Reliford joins Dealyn Evans on the defensive line as part of the Aggies’ 2024 recruiting cycle. With the Maroon and White having a reputable track record of building some of the most fearsome defensive lines in recent history, Reliford has an opportunity to be next in line.

Congratulations, Gabriel! We look forward to seeing you in Aggieland soon enough. Gig ‘Em!

2024 3-star Edge Gabriel Reliford, favored to land with Texas A&M, will announce his commitment on Tuesday

2024 3-star Edge Gabriel Reliford, one of the most underrated prospects in the cycle, is currently trending towards Texas A&M, ahead of his commitment on Tuesday.

It may be the first week of the recruiting dead period, but that doesn’t mean commitments have also taken a pause, as Texas A&M is set to potentially gain their eleventh prospect in the 2024 cycle, as three-star Edge Gabriel Reliford is set to announce his commitment on Tuesday, June 27. According to multiple recruiting analysts, Reliford is now predicted to land with the Aggies.

As one of the more underrated players in the class, Reliford is undoubtedly one of the most productive, recording 100 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, and three forced fumbles during his 2021 sophomore season, following that excellent stat line with 129 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, six sacks, and three forced fumbles during his 2022 junior season.

Finally receiving a ranking on 247Sports, Reliford is positioned as the 51st-ranked Edge in the class and the 27th-ranked player in Louisiana. At the same time, his final senior campaign at Evangel Christian Academy is poised to be his best yet. Texas A&M has been trending for Reliford since offering him back on May 22. On Monday, the Aggies joined Ole Miss and Vanderbilt on Reliford’s Top 3 program list.

After taking official visits to Ole Miss and Vanderbilt earlier this month, Reliford’s attendance at Jimbo Fisher’s football camp on June 16 may have sealed the deal ahead of Tuesday’s announcement, so let’s say that things are looking perfect for the Maroon and White.

Texas A&M offers productive 2024 EDGE Gabriel Reliford

Throw away the rankings because 2024 EDGE Gabriel Reliford out of Louisiana is as productive as they come, earning an offer from Texas A&M.

Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher isn’t focused on player rankings when building his 2024 recruiting class. But, as any scout knows, a player’s tape is usually the deciding factor when recruiting a player within a specific program.

For 2024, Edge/Athlete Gabriel Reliford out of Shreveport, Louisiana, currently unranked by both 247Sports and Rivals, has received 21 offers, including from Texas A&M, on Monday, May 22. Standing at 6-2 and 250 pounds, Reliford’s tape shows a powerful player as a pass rusher, and his 2021 and 2022 numbers back it up.

During his 2021 sophomore season, he racked up 100 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, and three forced fumbles, leading to his 2022 junior campaign composed of 129 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, six sacks, and three forced fumbles on the year.

So, why the lack of recruiting prominence? His 6-2 height as an outside pass rusher has most likely scared some teams away, while many programs probably feel that a move inside is a better fit. However, numbers do not lie, and Reliford’s 21 sacks over two seasons against stiff competition in Louisiana is a no-brainer for Jimbo Fisher. With upcoming visits to Vanderbilt and SMU, look for Fisher and his staff to set up a visit later this Summer/Fall.
