WATCH: Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco getting back to form at final training camp practice

#Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco looked to be back to full speed on this impressive play from Kansas City’s final training camp practice.

Isiah Pacheco played through serious injuries in the Kansas City Chiefs’ run to Super Bowl LVII and was a non-contact participant in the team’s training camp.

Despite this, he managed to show his signature speed and angry running style to fans in attendance at Kansas City’s final practice in St. Joseph on Thursday. Kansas City Sports Network got footage of an incredible touchdown run he made during the Chiefs’ workouts and shared a video to Twitter.

Pacheco’s acceleration and ability to find holes in the defense are almost otherworldly, and though he isn’t predicted to see any action in the next two weeks of the preseason, fans will wait with particular anticipation for his return to action in Week 1 of the regular season.

Watch for Kansas City’s stable of backs to compete for the second and third spots on the Chiefs’ depth chart over the next two weeks as they look to solidify their roles in Andy Reid’s backfield behind Pacheco.

Pete Carroll hopes Chris Carson will be ‘full-speed, full-load’ in Week 14

Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll is hoping that starting running back Chris Carson will be full-speed, full-load Week 14 against the Jets.

Seattle Seahawks Chris Carson has been easing back into the action over the last couple of weeks after suffering a foot injury that kept him watching from the sidelines. Heading into Week 14, it looks like Carson might have finally turned the corner.

The Seahawks starting running back wasn’t able to practice in full ahead of the Giants game which factored into the game-planning. Carlos Hyde, Carson’s first backup, had been battling his own injury with a sore hamstring.

Coach Pete Carroll explained the scenario during his Monday afternoon press conference.

“He feels better this week going into the week than he’s felt at any time, so I think this week is really a time we have a chance to cut him loose and he can take the full load,” Carroll said. “That hindered us a little bit in the thinking. Carlos entered the game kind of gingerly as well, so both of those guys, it affected us a little bit and unfortunately that’s just the way it went.”

The good news, however, is that things might be different this week against the Jets as both backs appear to be getting healthier.

“Chris looked really good, he handled what we did,” Carroll continued. “He came out of the game better, so in the long run of it, we’ll have him, we hope, full-speed, full-load this week.”

Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar will practice full speed Wednesday

Coach Pete Carroll said Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar will practice full speed on Wednesday and is ready to go this season.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar has had an interesting offseason, to say the least. Arrested in May on suspicion of armed robbery in Florida, the prosecution decided not to pursue charges this summer and Dunbar was finally free to join his teammates in training camp at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center.

A late arrival to camp, Dunbar clearly had some catching up to do if he was going to realistically compete with Tre Flowers for the starting position. Fast forward to just last week, and Dunbar was absent from practice again – this time in order to attend a funeral.

As of Wednesday, however, Dunbar had completed the COVID testing protocol for re-entry and was present and ready to participate “full speed,” according to coach Pete Carroll.

“Well, he’s a really bright kid,” Carroll told reporters during his Zoom press conference on Wednesday before practice. “Picking up the system has been nothing for him, it’s been really easy . . . he’s missed enough days that he hasn’t got them all and you can tell a little bit.

“But because of the savvy player that he is – the experience that he has – we would be comfortable if he’s on the field playing for us.”

Dunbar and the rest of the roster return to practice Thursday and Friday before departing for Atlanta.
