Top 100 recruit, Hunter Osborne releases top 10 schools

One of the top Alabama products lists Auburn among top schools.

On Monday as the Auburn Tigers open up spring practice, the staff received some positive news. Four-star defensive tackle from Trussville, Hunter Osborne has narrowed down his top schools with Auburn firmly in the mix.

SEC schools Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and LSU were also among the top 10. Osborne would be a great addition to this defensive line that is in need of playmakers.

What 247 Says about Osborne:

Flashes a good first step off the line of scrimmage, displaying good foot and body quickness at the point of attack. Plays with good knee bend and flexibility, showing the ability to bend the edge. Sudden rusher, moves efficiency in his pass rush. Can win with speed, quickness, and power. Shows the ability to go speed to power at the point of attack, plays with a good understanding of leverage and body control. Closes space quickly and flashes excellent backside pursuit ability. Appears to have a good motor.

Auburn targets another four-star defensive tackle from Georgia

Auburn targeting another four-star defensive tackle.

The hunt for defensive line help continues for the Auburn Tigers staff and new defensive coordinator Jeff Schmedding.

The staff recently ventured into Georgia to extend an offer to four-star defensive lineman, Kayden McDonald, of North Gwinnett. The outlook at the position beyond the 2022 season is rather bleak. Schmedding and defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh has made a very concerted effort to add depth to the position.

The Tigers recently offered Jamaa Jarrett and Sydir Mitchell. Hopefully as Auburn continues to stockpile offers in the 2023 cycle, they can load up on a few commitments to give the unit some depth and flexibility.

Jimmy Brumbaugh, Auburn extend offer to four-star defensive tackle Jamaal Jarrett

Auburn offers a four-star defensive tackle out of North Carolina.

The Auburn Tigers staff are preparing for the upcoming spring ball season but they are also working on the recruiting trails. Jimmy Brumbaugh recently offered four-star defensive tackle Jamaal Jarrett of Greensboro, North Carolina.

His offer list looks similar to the school list for the SEC. He has offers from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, and Tennessee Vols among others. He also has an offer from his home state teams, UNC and NC State. Auburn will have plenty of competition for the two-way player.

Jarrett plays on both sides of the ball in the trenches. He is projected best to play on the defensive side of the ball. Jarrett has played offensive tackle and offensive guard, as well as the anchor in the middle of the defensive line. Given the roster situation on The Plains, he would be a welcomed addition to either side of the ball.
