NFL picks, Week 13: ‘Experts’ split for Bills-Patriots

NFL picks, Week 13: ‘Experts’ split for #Bills-#Patriots:

It’s a rarity to see, but the “experts” can’t make up their minds.

According to NFL Pickwatch, heading into Week 13, we see a dead even split. Those writers, analysts, and talking heads on television we see all throughout the week are in a 50-50 split.

Per their weekly findings, 50 percent of the so-called “experts” have picked the Buffalo Bills (7-4) to beat the New England Patriots in Week 13.

Of course, that means another 50 percent have picked the Patriots (8-4) to win on Monday Night Football in Orchard Park.

Battling for the top spot in the AFC East, it certainly is a tough game to call.

The Patriots are red hot, winners of six straight. Meanwhile the Bills are simply a talented team and the defending division champs.

The Pickwatch results also reflect the odds heading into the meeting. Buffalo opened as a three-point favorite, which can be attributed to them being the home team in the spread.

But as usual, we’re here to see who picked who.

Among those Bill-eving in Buffalo include: Cynthia Frelund (NFL.com), Pete Prisco (CBS Sports), Domonique Foxworth (ESPN), and Mike Clay (ESPN).

If the Bills do prove the group above right, here are some of those that will be shown to be wrong in the process, a.k.a., a few folks who picked the Pats: Rob Ninkovich (ESPN), Maurice Jones-Drew (NFL Network), Nick Shook (NFL.com), and Mike Florio (PFT).

Despite close 2020 battle, ‘experts’ heavily picking Bills over Colts

Despite close 2020 battle, ‘experts’ heavily picking #Bills over #Colts:

The Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts had a tight game in the 2020 postseason. That final was a 27-24 score.

On top of that, both of their records are very close as well.

The Colts enter Week 11 at 5-5 while the Bills are 6-3.

Despite that, the “experts” are heavily favoring Buffalo over Indy on Sunday.

According to NFL Pickwatch, 96 percent of the writers, analysts and talking heads on television are picking the Bills to win.

For what it’s worth, earlier this week, the oddsmakers felt similar. Buffalo opened as a 7.5-point favorite.

As usual, if you’d like to know a few folks who are picking Indianapolis to win so then you can remind them of their wrong choice if Buffalo does win, here’s a few: Sam Acho (ESPN), Mike Freeman (USA TODAY), and Seth Wickersham (ESPN).

NFL picks Week 9: Back-to-back weeks the ‘experts’ love the Bills fully

NFL picks Week 9: Back-to-back weeks the ‘experts’ love the #Bills fully:

To our knowledge, we’ve had a first.

According to NFL Pickwatch last week, prior to the Buffalo Bills’ contest against the Miami Dolphins, every single writer, analyst, and talking head on television picked the Bills to win.

For the first time, we can say that’s happened in back-to-back weeks.

According to NFL Pickwatch again this week, everyone polled by the outlet has picked the Bills (5-2) to top the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-6).

Credit to the Bills for building a team that is as talented as it is.

But also credit to the NFL schedule makers. Buffalo is currently in a very soft spot in their schedule, having faced two teams in a row with only one win.

And considering that, this streak could soon be extended to three.

Knock on wood, but Buffalo faces the two win New York Jets after the Jags.

If the Bills handle the Jaguars well, we could see another 100 percent picking of Buffalo in Week 10.

Stay tuned for that.

NFL picks Week 8: No ‘experts’ doubting the Bills this time vs. Dolphins

NFL picks Week 8: No ‘experts’ doubting the Bills this time vs. Dolphins

When the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins faced off in Week 2 for the first time, the feeling wasn’t a unanimous one.

Many did pick the Bills (4-2) to win, about 90 percent of them.

Now that number seems small.

With the way things have gone since then for both teams, specifically the Dolphins (1-6)… there wasn’t much up for debate amongst this grouping this time around.

According to NFL Pickwatch this week, 100 percent of the experts have jumped on the Bills bandwagon. All of them went with Buffalo this week.

There’s no one to really call out for not picking the Bills if Buffalo wins in Week 8 like we usually suggest.

In lieu of that, here’s a reminder of a few names who did pick the Dolphins to win in Week 2: Dominique Foxworth (ESPN), Jarrett Bell (USA TODAY), Rob Ninkovich (ESPN), Ryan Wilson (CBS Sports) and Albert Breer (MMQB).

NFL picks Week 6: ‘Experts’ heavily favor Bills at Titans

NFL picks Week 6: ‘Experts’ heavily favor #Bills at #Titans:

The Buffalo Bills will take on the Tennessee Titans in their second-straight game on prime-time football. This time, it’ll go down on Monday Night Football.

Last week, the spread and “experts” thought the Bills (4-1) would lose to the Kansas City Chiefs. Instead, it was a strong 38-20 win.

As comparison to last year, the Bills are less of a favorite on the road against the Titans (3-2) in 2021.

A year ago, Buffalo traveled to Nashville as an 8.5-point favorite and this week that’s down to 4.5.

However, while the Bills lost that game last season, the so called “experts” are still heavily favoring the Bills.

According to NFL Pickwatch, 94 percent of the writers, analysts and talking heads on television are picking Buffalo to beat Tennessee.

As referenced, a week ago 55 percent of this bunch picked the Chiefs to win.

But as usual, there’s still a few picking against Buffalo.

If anyone in Bills Mafia wants to take to Twitter and remind these proclaimed experts that they were wrong if Buffalo beats the Titans, a few of those picking Tennessee are: Sam Acho (ESPN), Seth Wickersham (ESPN) and Adam Rank (NFL.com).

Undeterred by Week 4 collapse, majority of NFL experts pick Saints in Week 5

Undeterred by Week 4 collapse, majority of NFL experts pick Saints in Week 5

What’s your score prediction for Sunday’s game between the New Orleans Saints and Washington Football Team? If you’re not ready to put numbers to it, who do you have winning? Results of this week’s game picks collected over at NFL Pickwatch have a 68% majority of experts and analysts choosing the Saints to pull off a road win.

That follows the Saints’ disappointing fourth-quarter collapse against the New York Giants and Washington’s last-minute win over the Atlanta Falcons. 99% of these experts picked the Saints to win their game (which they lost) while 69% of them went with Washington over Atlanta (as they should have). But they haven’t been deterred by the Saints’ struggles.

Let’s hope that’s a good sign, even if the most common trope among fans these days is preferring to play the underdog role. There’s something to be said for keeping expectations modest but there’s also some value in acknowledging this is a game the Saints should win handily.

NFL picks Week 5: Chiefs get a slight edge over Bills per the ‘experts’

NFL picks Week 5: It’s close, but a couple more of the ‘experts’ believe in the #Chiefs more than the #Bills this season:

Earlier this week, the oddsmakers decided to make the Buffalo Bills an underdog for the first time this season against the Kansas City Chiefs. The so-called “experts” are agreeing, unfortunately.

According to NFL Pickwatch, 55 percent of the analysts, writers, and talkers on television are picking the Chiefs (2-2) to defeat the Bills (3-1) on Sunday Night Football.

Despite the Bills having the better record, taking the Kansas City isn’t actually that bold of a pick.

Not only did the Chiefs beat the Bills twice just last season, this game is in Kansas City. KC has one of the NFL’s best home-field advantages.

Still, don’t count out the Bills. The early-week spread near three points in favor of Kansas City is not that big, either.

It could be a close one.

For what it’s worth, along with this week being the first time the Bills are underdogs, it’s also the first time the experts picked against Buffalo.

But if the Bills do pull off this upset? There are plenty of doubters among that 55 percent.

If you’re in a mood after a Bills win to remind such “experts” that they were wrong on Twitter, some of those picking the Chiefs include: Mike Jones (USA TODAY), Nick Shook (NFL Network), Maurice Jones-Drew (NFL Network), Sam Acho (ESPN) and Will Brinson (CBS Sports).

NFL picks Week 4: ‘Experts’ all pick Bills over Texans

NFL picks Week 4: ‘Experts’ all pick #Bills over #Texans:

Last week, the Buffalo Bills routed the Washington Football Team. It was a second-straight blowout win for Buffalo.

That has created a lot of confidence in the Bills (2-1) among the “experts.”

Heading into the Week 4 matchup between the Bills and Texans at Highmark Stadium, a huge number of such analysts, writers, and talkers on television are picking Buffalo.

In fact… according to NFL Pickwatch, all of them are.

Among the folks that Pickwatch monitor throughout the week, 100 percent of them picked the Bills to win on Sunday. Last week, the same group reported 98 percent of experts picking the Bills over the Washington Football Team.

Smart moves made by many of them then.

But the 100 percent figure is actually not all that surprising.  The Bills are three-score favorites of 17.5 points according to the oddsmakers.

Anyone picking that upset is beyond bold.

NFL Pickwatch: 99% of experts like Saints to win Week 4

NFL Pickwatch: 99% of experts like Saints to win Week 4

[sendtonews_embed video_id=”n7b5mYQHZ3-1536296-7498″]

How’s that for a vote of confidence? Only 1% of the football experts and analysts polled by NFL Pickwatch are being contrarians and picking the New York Giants to upset the New Orleans Saints in Week 4. Let’s thank them for avoiding the dreaded unanimous-picks curse that just might jinx an easy win.

Still, the Saints shouldn’t sleep on the Giants. Even though they’re 0-3. Even though their coaching staff is engaging in self-sabotage by playing against their roster’s strengths. The NFL is a league where any team can win on any given Sunday, and we’ve seen the Saints botch situations like this before (I’ll be mad about that 2019 Falcons loss after the bye week forever).

Funnily enough, the Saints have only won games they’ve been picked against this year. Two-thirds of the NFL experts liked the Patriots to win last week. An overwhelming 91% majority picked the Packers in the season opener. The only Saints loss this year has come in Week 2, when 87% of experts picked against the Panthers. Let’s hope the Saints break that trend.

NFL picks Week 3: ‘Experts’ nearly all pick Bills over Football Team

NFL picks Week 3: ‘Experts’ nearly all pick #Bills over Football Team:

The Buffalo Bills are a Super Bowl favorite that won in blowout fashion last week. They are also facing a backup quarterback in Week 3 vs. the Washington Football Team, Taylor Heinicke.

Those are likely a few of the reasons why the “experts” are feeling the way they are this week.

Heading into the Week 3 matchup between the Bills and Football Team at Highmark Stadium, a huge number of such analysts, writers, and talkers on television are picking Buffalo.

According to NFL Pickwatch, a massive 98 percent of such are thinking the Bills will win this one.

Among all games going down next weekend, only one team is a bigger “favorite.” Per Pickwatch, 100 percent of experts have picked the Denver Broncos to beat the New York Jets.

That… does make sense.

But as always, we have a couple of Bills doubters still out there. Among that low two percent of folks that are being bold and picking Washington are: John Breech (CBS Sports) and Jason La Canfora (CBS Sports).

If the Bills do win, we can’t tell you what to do. But if you reminded such folks about wrongly rooting against Buffalo? We won’t be mad.

Last week, 81 percent of those polled by Pickwatch picked the Bills to win.
