Where is ESPN ‘College GameDay’ in Week 11?

Here’s where ESPN’s College GameDay will be in Week 11 this Saturday.

ESPN’s “College GameDay” has announced its location for Week 11 of the 2024 college football season this Saturday.

Rece Davis, Lee Corso, Nick Saban, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and crew will be in Baton Rouge for the SEC showdown between the No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide and No. 13 LSU Tigers. Kickoff for that game is at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be televised on ABC.

ESPN’s decision to head to Baton Rouge for such a pivotal (and familiar) game is a smart one. Alabama-LSU is annually one of the country’s most-watched and most-anticipated rivalries.

The last time ‘Bama and LSU met without College Football Playoff or BCS Championship hopes on the line was all the way back in 2006, a year before Saban returned to the college ranks as Alabama’s head coach after a two-year stay in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins.

This year, the matchup is essentially a College Football Playoff elimination game as both Alabama and LSU have two losses.

Saturday’s edition of “College GameDay” is sure to be an emotional one. On Thursday, Herbstreit announced the passing of his beloved dog Ben, who had been accompanying the veteran broadcaster on college and NFL games for several seasons.

It will also mark the first time Saban will be in Baton Rouge as an analyst instead of a head coach. Before leading the Crimson Tide to six national championships over 17 seasons, Saban coached at LSU from 2000-04. He built a perennially underwhelming LSU program into a BCS National Champion in 2003.

The “GameDay” crew has now broadcast live from SEC venues six times this season. ESPN agreed to pay $300 million a year for the exclusive rights to broadcast SEC games beginning in 2024.

Clemson football 2024 schedule

Ken Ruinard-USA TODAY Sports

Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers (6-2) will be in Blacksburg Saturday to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on ESPN.

Clemson is coming off a 33-21 loss to the Louisville Cardinals that dealt a severe blow to their College Football Playoff hopes; the Tigers are ranked No. 23 in the initial CFP rankings. Cade Klubnik, Phil Mafah and the offense struggled for three-plus quarters vs. Louisville after being red hot in the Tigers’ six straight wins before that.

Virginia Tech (5-4) has four losses but they’ve all been by seven points or fewer. Coach Brent Pry’s Hokies fell 38-31 in overtime to the Syracuse Orange at JMA Wireless Dome last week.

Jason Kelce smashes a fans phone after comments about Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift

An agitated Jason Kelce smashes a Penn State fans cell phone after deplorable comment about his brother Travis Kelce

Jason Kelce is his brother’s keeper and the only person capable of bullying All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce. The retired former Eagles star was in State College for ESPN’s College GameDay and, after missing a field goal, found himself on the end of disrespect from a Nittany Lions student or phone.

While briskly walking around campus, Kelce became agitated when he heard a fan or student make a derogatory statement about his brother, Travis Kelce.

Angered, Kelce smashed the kid’s cell phone and kept it moving.

The cancel culture will undoubtedly come for Kelce, and there will be think pieces about controlling his temper and how Kelce’s salary means he can’t do things like he did on Saturday. Still, we live in a new day where cell phone footage and viral moments are all some people care about.

College GameDay Crew picks Texas A&M vs. South Carolina

ESPN’s College GameDay crew has predicted the winner of Texas A&M vs. South Carolina

Texas A&M’s 7-1 start and 5-0 SEC-leading conference record are on the line on Saturday night. The Aggies will enter a packed and very loud Williams-Brice Stadium against a South Carolina team that’s much better than the Gamecocks’ record shows.

Just a week after the Aggies’ 38-23 comeback win over then-8th-ranked LSU, first-year head coach Mike Elko deserves the bulk of the credit for establishing a team culture built on physicality and relentless effort. At the same time, his insertion of redshirt freshman quarterback Marcel Reed into the lineup against the Tigers practically saved the season.

However, after Reed entered the game for starting quarterback Conner Weigman, who struggled throughout the first half, Elko stated throughout the week that both players would receive equal starting snaps to earn the job, as a decision will likely be revealed hours before the 6:30 p.m. kickoff.

On Saturday, ESPN’s College Gameday crew picked the winner of Texas A&M vs. South Carolina. It was almost a clean sweep for the Aggies, as Desmond Howard, Nick Saban, Pat McAfee, Lee Corso, and Kirk Herbstreit all picked Texas A&M, mainly due to Reed’s versatility and the Aggies’ recent momentum after beating LSU.

Guest picker actor/comedian Keegan Michael Key was the only one to pick South Carolina. On SEC Nation, every picker outside of Paul Finebaum also selected the Aggies.

Texas A&M will travel to Columbia to face South Carolina on Saturday, Nov. 2nd, at 6:30 p.m. CT. The game will air on either ABC.

Everything Nick Saban, ‘College GameDay’ crew said about Clemson-Louisville matchup

Check out what Nick Saban, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and Pat McAfee said about Clemson’s Week 10 showdown with Louisville.

This story has been updated to include new information.

The No. 8 Clemson Tigers are looking for their seventh straight win tonight when they welcome the Louisville Cardinals to Death Valley.

“College GameDay” previewed the game live from State College, Pa., where the ESPN crew is set up for today’s top-five matchup between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Penn State Nittany Lions.

Here’s what GameDay analysts Nick Saban, Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit and Pat McAfee had to say about Clemson vs. Louisville.

Nick Saban praises Dabo Swinney

“People kind of wrote them off after the Georgia game, and they’ve won every game since,” Saban said. “They’re averaging 45 points a game. They have a young defense. That young defense has gotten better and better as the season has gone on. I think Dabo has done a fantastic job of helping this team develop into a top team in contention for the ACC title.”

Desmond Howard predicts Clemson win over Louisville

“This is (Louisville’s) seventh game in a row and their third road game in four weeks,” Howard said. “I do think they’re going to be in a shootout with Clemson, just like they were with Miami, but I think it’s just gonna be too much for them late in the game — and Clemson is going to win.”

Pat McAfee sounds off on Clemson

“When you talk about this Clemson team and what they’ve been since that Georgia game, and I know they haven’t played anybody of an elite ranking (since Georgia), but this is what I think a lot of people have expected out of a Dabo Swinney team,” McAfee said.

“Now, their defense isn’t as dominant as it has been in the past but Cade Klubnik is playing his best ball. They’re averaging like 500 yards a game or something like that. (Phil) Mafah goes goes ‘Mafah crazy’ … Everything is still in front of Clemson when we thought it was potentially over and they weren’t as good as they once were. Remember, (Dabo) doesn’t use the transfer portal. He didn’t get rid of everybody. He didn’t just reboot. Nobody knew if Clemson was going to be what they are. They are.”

Kirk Herbstreit outlines potential deciding factor in Clemson vs. Louisville

“The difference, I think, could be three things: Louisville’s struggled against mobile quarterbacks, and Klubnik can move around and make plays with his feet,” Herbstreit said. “And the other thing is the turnover margin has been significant: Clemson +9. Been a disaster for Louisville, they’re -2. I think that’s the difference in the game, especially in Death Valley.”

Clemson and Louisville will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on ESPN.

Pick-by-pick College GameDay predictions, analysis for Clemson-Louisville

The panel of Howard, Saban, Corso, McAfee, Herbstreit and celebrity guest picker Keegan Michael-Key all picked Clemson to beat Louisville.

“Clemson coming off a bye. I think shootout, but Clemson will beat Louisville,” Howard said.

“I think Louisville is the best team Clemson’s played since they opened with Georgia, but I think Clemson will take this one in a close one,” Saban added.

“I agree with both of them. Let’s continue to roll with the Clemson Tiger train. This is Dabo Swinney football, baby,” McAfee said.

Herbstreit closed with his prediction.

“I think this has a chance to be a shootout. I think Louisville can score with them. Cade Klubnik’s legs are the difference in this game.”

This comedy star will be the College Gameday picker for Ohio State vs. Penn State

ESPN’s College Gameday has dropped their picker for the high profile Ohio State vs. Penn State battle this weekend.

Ohio State vs. Penn State is going to be the biggest battle on this weekend’s college football slate. The No. 4 Buckeyes are going to Pennsylvania to take on the Nittany Lions, who are still among the handful of undefeated teams left in the country.

While they have had a few scares, even early-season scares against inferior opponents, they haven’t been bested yet. Given the high-profile nature of this game, ESPN’s premier show, College Gameday, will be there.

Ohio State lost earlier this season when College Gameday made the trip to Eugene for its battle with the Oregon Ducks. While that picker was a country music star, this one is a comedian, and College Gameday has released who it is.

From 9 a.m. ET to noon outside of the Bryce Jordan Center, numerous high-profile ESPN personalities will get together to review what has happened and what is about to happen in college football.

For Ohio State, with the Michigan Wolverines and undefeated Indiana Hoosiers still on deck, this might not be the last time it plays following the show’s energizing of the campus in the hours prior.

Where is ESPN College GameDay in Week 10?

Here’s where ESPN’s College GameDay will be for Week 10 this Saturday.

ESPN and “College GameDay” have announced its location for Week 10 of the 2024 college football season this Saturday.

Rece Davis, Lee Corso, Nick Saban, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and crew will be in State College for the top five showdown between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Penn State Nittany Lions. Kickoff for that game is at 11 a.m. CT and can be seen on Fox.

It’s the second straight week that the GameDay guys will be in Big Ten country after their first-ever trip to Bloomington, Ind., last Saturday for the No. 13 Indiana Hoosiers’ 31-17 win over the Washington Huskies.

Penn State (7-0) is undefeated and ranked No. 3 in this week’s US LBM Coaches Poll. James Franklin’s Nittany Lions defeated the Wisconsin Badgers, 28-13, at Camp Randall last week. Ohio State (6-1) is ranked No. 4 after a 21-17 win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Clemson Football 2024 schedule

As for Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers, up to No. 8 in the Coaches Poll, they’ll be hosting the Louisville Cardinals Saturday night in Death Valley. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN).

Clemson (6-1) is coming off a bye in Week 9 and defeated the Virginia Cavaliers, 48-31, to close out October with a 3-0 record for the month. Cade Klubnik, Phil Mafah and crew have won six straight overall since their season-opening 34-3 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs.

After Louisville, the Tigers have back-to-back road trips to Lane Stadium to face Kyron Drones and the Virginia Tech Hokies on Nov. 9 and Eli Holstein and the No. 17 Pitt Panthers on Nov. 16. Clemson closes out the regular season with two games in Death Valley: vs. The Citadel on Nov. 23 and rival South Carolina on Nov. 30.

Louisville (5-3) is unranked and coming off a 31-27 win at Boston College in Week 9. The Cardinals’ three losses have all been by a touchdown: 31-24 at the No. 9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 34-27 to the No. 20 SMU Mustangs, and 52-45 to the No. 5 Miami Hurricanes.

‘College GameDay’ announces Week 10 location

Where will Nick Saban and College GameDay be this Saturday, Nov. 2? Here’s what to know.

ESPN’s “College GameDay” has announced where it will be for Week 10 of the 2024 college football season.

For the second straight week, the GameDay crew is staying in the Big Ten and will be on site in Happy Valley for the top-five matchup between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Penn State Nittany Lions. Kickoff for that game is 11 a.m. CT and can be seen on Fox.

Penn State (7-0) is undefeated and ranked No. 3 in this week’s US LBM Coaches Poll. James Franklin’s Nittany Lions defeated the Wisconsin Badgers, 28-13, at Camp Randall last Saturday. Ohio State (6-1) is ranked No. 4 after a 21-17 win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

It’s the first time this season that the crew of Nick Saban, Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Lee Corso and Pat McAfee will be in State College. GameDay’s last visit to Penn State was in September 2021 when the Nittany Lions defeated the Auburn Tigers, 28-20.

For Saban, it’s his first known visit to Penn State since Alabama’s 27-11 victory at Beaver Stadium on Sept. 10, 2011. While at Michigan State from 1995-99, Saban went 2-3 against the Nittany Lions with both wins coming in East Lansing (1997 and 1999).

Alabama Football 2024 schedule

The Alabama Crimson Tide (6-2), ranked No. 14 in this week’s polls, are in the midst of the second of their two bye weeks in 2024 before returning to SEC play on Nov. 9 against the No. 16 LSU Tigers (6-2) at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.

Kickoff for Alabama-LSU was announced earlier this week as a 6:30 p.m. CT start. The game will be televised on ABC. The Crimson Tide defeated Missouri, 34-0, last Saturday while LSU fell 38-23 to the Texas A&M Aggies in College Station.

With Alabama vs. LSU being a playoff elimination game in addition to an annual ratings bonanza, it seems a good bet that the GameDay crew’s next stop will be Baton Rouge for Tide-Tigers.

Who will be ‘College GameDay’ celebrity guest picker for Ohio State at Penn State?

From Larry Johnson to Lisa Salters to the ‘pommel horse guy’, there are plenty of Penn State alumni who would be great celebrity guest pickers on “College GameDay”.

ESPN “College GameDay” is headed to Happy Valley in Week 10 to take in a Big Ten battle between the Penn State Nittany Lions and Ohio State Buckeyes, a matchup with serious College Football Playoff ramifications.

It will be the first time in three years the GameDay crew is at Penn State, with the last appearance coming in 2021 against the Auburn Tigers.

This season has featured an array of different types of celebrity guest pickers, from Terry Saban to Kaitlin Olson to Kyle Schwarber, and there is no shortage of exciting options to choose from in Week 10.

Previous guest pickers in Happy Valley include running back Ki-Jana Carter in 2017, actor Keegan Michael-Key in 2018, journalist Lara Spencer in 2019, quarterback Trace McSorley in 2020, and running back Saquon Barkley in 2021.

While they could all be options again, let’s take a look at some new options GameDay could choose for Saturday’s show.

Former Football Players

John Cappelletti is Penn State’s only Heisman Trophy winner, taking home the award back in 1973, and it would be fun to see him and Lee Corso talking about the old Big Ten days on the show.

Olu Fashanu is a much, much younger option, as the most recent Penn State alumni to get selected in the top 20 of the NFL draft, going No. 11 overall in 2024. The Jets play Thursday, so Fashanu has the weekend off and could be a fun familiar face to have back on campus.

Speaking of familiar faces, wide receiver Jahan Dotson won’t be too far away with the Eagles playing a home game on Sunday against Jacksonville. The 2022 first round pick is in his first season with the Eagles, and would be a welcome return to campus for Penn State fans.

The Nittany Lions have a history of developing extremely talented running backs, and while Saquon Barkley has already done the GameDay scene it would be fun to see another NFL Pro Bowl back, Larry Johnson, in the mix on Saturday. Johnson made two Pro Bowls and was an All-Pro twice in a decorated nine-year NFL career spent mostly with Kansas City.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Other Options

Lisa Salters is a highly decorated journalist who has worked for ESPN for nearly 25 years, making her a clear option to join the GameDay crew. An alumni of Penn State and the shortest player to ever play for the women’s basketball team, Salters’ experience behind the mic and connection to the school should have her in this conversation.

Mary Ellen Clark is a wildcard option, but the former Olympic diver and two-time bronze medalist attended both Penn State and Ohio State, making her a fun choice if she can take time away from her job as the head diving coach at Amherst College.

Speaking of olympians, my top choice would be gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik, who became a media sensation this summer for his performance on the pommel horse and trademark eyeglasses. Nedoroscik won a pair of medals in Paris, and appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Today Show,” Season 33 of “Dancing with the Stars,” and was a co-presenter at the “76th Primetime Emmy Awards.”

His recent fame and connection to the school make him an obvious choice.
