Bills’ Khalil Shakir explains offseason workouts with Eric Moulds

#Bills’ Khalil Shakir explains offseason workouts with Eric Moulds:

We’ve known that a former Bills receiver was helping out a current one.

Now, some context.

Khalil Shakir, a fifth-round pick in 2022 that the team traded up for, worked out with former Bills great Eric Moulds this offseason. That was revealed by Moulds via social media when he posted an image of Shakir.

Shakir said he did so in the spring and liked it so much that he went back and worked out with Moulds again in between minicamp and training camp.

During an interview with the team’s radio program, Shakir explained that he learned a lot from Moulds in their time together. It involved the physical aspects of the game, but the mental side of football too.

Shakir’s full breakdown can be found in the One Bills Live clip below:

Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame to induct former Bills Eric Moulds, Bob Chandler

Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame to induct former #Bills Eric Moulds, Bob Chandler:

Former Buffalo Bills players Eric Moulds and Bob Chandler will be inducted into the Great Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame.

The pair will be part of the 33rd induction class on June 14.

Moulds, 49, was a first-round pick of the Bills in 1996. The receiver played for the team until 2005.

Moulds made 675 receptions for 9,096 yards, with 49 touchdowns in his career in Buffalo. His play was all the more impressive considering the lack of quarterback stability the Bills had during his career in western New York.

Moulds went on to play for the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans.

Chandler played nine seasons in Buffalo between 1971 and 1979. Also a wideout, made 295 receptions for 3,999 yards, with 34 touchdowns.

During Chandler’s tenure, he led the NFL in receptions between 1975 and 1977. Post-Bills, he joined the Raiders and won Super Bowl XV.

After retiring in 1983, Chandler began a long broadcasting career. He passed away in 1995.

Khalil Shakir working out with former Bills WR Eric Moulds

Khalil Shakir working out with former #Bills WR Eric Moulds:

Khalil Shakir is going down the well of a former Buffalo Bills great to hopefully improve in Year 2: Eric Moulds.

According to NYup.com, Moulds shared a video of Shakir working out with him. He reportedly said, “Bills Mafia, there is no off-season.”

Shakir, a fifth-round rookie in 2022, got off to a slow start in his career. He caught 10 passes for 161 yards and one score in 14 games.

While some want the Bills to use a top draft pick in 2023 on a receiver, there’s no reason an upgrade can’t be found in house. It also might be more of a realistic option. Some might forget that Buffalo did trade up in Round 5 to take him.

Searching for some help from Moulds isn’t the worst idea by Shakir.

The former Bills great finished his career with 675 receptions for 9,096 yards and 48 touchdowns in 10 seasons in Buffalo.

Eric Moulds named ‘Legend of the Game’ for Bills vs. Bengals

Eric Moulds will be in Orchard Park on Sunday hoping the #Bills do what he’s in the attached photo:

Eric Moulds knows about playoff football and the Buffalo Bills.

He’s set to experience that again on Sunday during the team’s Divisional-round matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bills have announced that Moulds will be back in Orchard Park and honored on Sunday during the team’s game against the Bengals. He will be the “Legend of the Game” for the day:

“Emo” spent a decade of his 12-year NFL career with the Bills. Prior to Buffalo’s playoff drought, Moulds suited up in three postseason games for the team. One of those turned out to be a nine catch, 240 yard, touchdown outing in 1998.

Moulds, 49, said he feels this current team in Buffalo has a bright, and near-future.

“I know obviously, it’s one game at a time. But watching this Bills team, you feel like they’re destined to be that team to represent the AFC [in the Super Bowl],” Moulds told the team’s website. “So I’m excited to watch them play in person again and see the guys have that success.”

Prior to kickoff, Moulds will be one of the first ones out of the tunnel at Highmark Stadium. He’ll pump Bills Mafia up just ahead of the opening kick and team introductions.

Get to your seats early to see Moulds’ acknowledgement.

Bills’ Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs closing in on more franchise records

Buffalo Bills team record updates for Stefon Diggs, Josh Allen.

[jwplayer Huuatmwd-ThvAeFxT]

It’s been a historical year for the Buffalo Bills, who’ve regularly silenced critics and won new fans alike all while setting franchise marks in several categories. At 11-3 with two games to go, might more benchmarks be broken?

Bills quarterback Josh Allen and wideout Stefon Diggs will likely do just that as the team has two games remaining. Both players have been gaining attention for their accolades on the field and are two of five Buffalo players heading to the Pro Bowl.

In the Bills’ final two contests, Allen is closing in on Jim Kelly’s record for touchdown passes. Currently at 30, Allen needs four more over the next two outings to break Jim Kelly’s record (33) from 1991.

The other single-season milestone on the horizon is passing yards. After 14 games played, Allen’s sitting in second-place, all-time in team history at a clean 4,000 total passing yards so far in 2020. He entered Week 15 against the Denver Broncos at No. 5 on that list and added 359 passing yards at Mile High to his totals.

Currently only Drew Bledsoe’s 4,359 passing yards from 2002 sit above Allen. This season Allen’s averaging 285.7 passing yards per game.

In regard to Diggs, he already blew away one franchise record last week. He needed one catch to surpass Eric Moulds’ single-season catch record of 100.

Diggs had 11 against the Broncos and is up to 111, which currently leads the NFL. Moulds’ other record, receiving yards, was set in 1998 when he had 1,368 total yards. Diggs, with 1,314, only needs 55 more to break that record.

Stay tuned to see if these records get broken in the final weeks of the season.
