Heading into quarantine in March, Michigan State basketball ranked third among Big Ten teams for all-time 5-star recruits. Now, thanks to commitments from Emoni Bates, Max Christie, and Enoch Boakye, the Spartans rank number one among Big Ten teams for all-time 5-star recruits.

The future is really bright for Michigan State basketball even when it comes to 4-star recruits. After all, the Spartans are still in the mix for 4-star Guard Jaden Akins. Keep in mind, Akins is joining Emoni Bates at Ypsi Prep Academy.

Be excited for things to come with men’s hoops in East Lansing.

Michigan State basketball target Enoch Boakye upgraded to five-star recruit by 247Sports

Boakye received a ratings bump in the latest 247Sports re-rank.

Tom Izzo could be less than a week away from landing yet another five-star prospect.

Enoch Boakye, who is set to announce his college decision on July 28, has been upgraded to a five-star player in the latest 247Sports top 150 re-rank for the class of 2022. Boakye is now the No. 18 player in the entire class of 2022 and the No. 3 center in the class. He had previously been a high four-star player and the No. 20 prospect in the 2022 class.

Michigan State is considered the heavy favorite to land the six-foot-ten star out of George Harris Prep in Mississauga. All twelve predictors on Rivals and 247Sports have Michigan State landing the big man. Boakye has offers from Arizona, BYU, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and UCLA among a number of others. Duke and Kentucky are also recruiting him, but are yet to offer.

MSU’s 2022 class is the best in the country with No. 1 overall prospect Emoni Bates as its lone commit. Boakye’s addition would further cement MSU’s No. 1 status. If Bates does reclassify into 2021, Boakye would make for a great building block of the 2022 class, although he, too, is considering reclassifying in 2021.
