WATCH: Bryce Young gets emotional seeing his NFL locker for the first time

WATCH: Bryce Young and his family get to see his Panthers locker for the first time

The one thing that never ceases to amaze me about [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag] is how humble he is. As the No. 1 recruit coming out of high school and a Heisman Trophy winner, it would be easy to let the fame and success get to your head, but never Young.

For months it was widely speculated that he would be the No. 1 selection in the 2023 NFL draft, so it came as no surprise to hear his name called by the Carolina Panthers but despite that, he never took anything for granted and was beyond appreciative to receive the call. Young has been at Mater Dei and Alabama where they have state-of-the-art facilities, so he should be used to these kinds of things.

Yet, it didn’t stop Young from getting emotional after seeing his NFL locker for the first time. In a video released by the Panthers, Young and his family are invited to see his new locker for the first time and you can see the reality set in that he made his dreams come true. In a touching moment, you can hear Young’s mom tell him, “You did this” as his dreams are now a reality.

Alabama Softball’s Montana Fouts emotionally recaps her collegiate career

After WCWS elimination, Montana Fouts says, “I couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend my dream.”

The Alabama softball program has seen a lot of really extraordinary talents and players walk through their doors, but Montana Fouts stands alone as the greatest player in program history. Coming out of high school, Fouts was a three-time Gatorade Player of the Year winner in Kentucky. During college, she was the SEC Freshman of the Year, two-time second-team All-American (2019, 2022), and First-Team All-American (2021).

Heading into the Super Regionals and Women’s College World Series Fouts has been a bit dinged up with an injury she suffered during the SEC Tournament. However, Alabama lost their first game of the double-elimination WCWS to Tennessee and absolutely had to rely on their best player.

She delivered and pitched incredibly well on Friday as she threw 7.0 innings and surrendered only five hits and two runs. She gave the Tide a real chance to win, but her offense let her down as they were shut out in a 2-0 loss to Stanford.  This is the second year in a row Stanford has ended Alabama’s season.

After the game, which marked the conclusion of her collegiate journey, Fouts was understandably emotional reflecting on her career. Through the tears, she managed to respond back saying, “These people are my everything. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend my dream.”

It’s unfortunate she was never able to get the desired national championship career, but that doesn’t take anything away from a magical career for someone who inspired and was beloved by so many.

Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce talk about seeing mother on-field after Super Bowl LVII

#Eagles C Jason Kelce and #Chiefs TE Travis Kelce talked about their experience seeing their mother on the field after Super Bowl LVII. | from @TheJohnDillon

In an emotional segment on their latest “New Heights Show” podcast, Jason and Travis Kelce talked about the experience of seeing their mother on the field after the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory in Super Bowl LVII. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room when the brothers described what it meant for them to see Donna Kelce on the field after the game.

“The moment I saw mom is when I got really emotional,” the elder Kelce said, holding back tears, “because… man, it was so awesome. You know, she was on top of the world for a week.”

“She was the heavyweight champ, man,” Travis added. “She was on top of it and she shined the whole time, man. That was the coolest part. Mom, you absolutely killed it, dad, you’ve been killing it.”

For Jason Kelce, even though his Philadelphia Eagles lost the Super Bowl, he said he was crying tears of joy because of his mother.

“It was just so cool, man to see, you know to see her get to celebrate in that with us,” Jason reiterated. “It was an awesome moment. I’m just so happy for her, and so happy that, you know, she got her moment, dad got his. So, yeah, I was the only [one], ironically, to lose the Super Bowl. And you [were] crying after the game, and they’re not tears of sadness, you know, they’re tears of joy.”

Clearly, the Kelce Bowl experience was an emotional one for both the center and tight end, and it won’t soon be forgotten, even as both brothers enter the twilight of their NFL careers. While a Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory is a welcome sight for any Kansas City fan, the only shame of the situation is that both of the Kelce brothers couldn’t win together.

Frank Clark overfilled with joy following Chiefs win in Super Bowl LVII

Frank Clark was overfilled with joy, delivering an emotional interview after the #Chiefs’ win over the #Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. | from @TheJohnDillon

In a season where he had been counted out and suspended, Kansas City Chiefs DE Frank Clark was overcome with emotion after the team’s Super Bowl win on Sunday night.

Speaking with Peter Schrager on the field just after the game, he made it clear that the wave of feelings he was experiencing wouldn’t be possible without his fellow Chiefs teammates and their belief in him.

“I’m just ecstatic, man,” Clark explained. “Just overfilled with joy, you know? I had a rough year, man. It’s been rough for me. My teammates, they never lost faith in me, man. I’m just thankful, just extremely humbled and thankful. I’m just thankful, I’ve got some of the best teammates in the world, bro. And just being able to come out here… a lot of adversity in the first half, to come out there in the second half and fix our mistakes and fix it, and we’re champs two times, man.”

Asked about how the win felt in the wake of losing family members in a 2018 housefire in Cleveland, Ohio, Clark was visibly emotional when talking about his late father, who he said was smiling on the team after the win.

“It’s a blessing, man,” Clark said, through tears. “I know my pops is smiling, man. I wish he could see it, but I know he’s smiling, man. I’ve been going through a lot the last few days, but it makes sense now, it makes sense bro.”

Clark was held at bay in Super Bowl LVII, as most defenders were on the slippery turf, but his spirit on the field was a key driver of the Chiefs’ defensive effort in the championship game. Given all of the adversity he has faced, both in 2022 and earlier in his career, it is safe to say that this win meant more to him than just a ring.

Coca-Cola’s heartwarming Christmas commercial, directed by Taika Waititi, will make you cry

We swore we couldn’t cry at a Coke ad, yet here we are.

I swore I wouldn’t get worked up watching this Coca-Cola commercial, as it violates my self-imposed rules A) not to get emotional watching a commercial and B) not get sucked into Christmas stuff before we’ve even hit Thanksgiving.

Yet here I am, blubbering like a big dumb Christmas baby.

The ad is directed by Oscar-winner Taika Waititi, so at least I can take comfort in the fact that I’ve been emotionally sucker-punched by a master auteur. See, it’s his filmmaking prowess that has me sniffling away my Christmas tears. It’s not the holiday spirit. I’m a Grinch, you hear me? I am a Grinch!

Pete Carroll reflects on the emotional toll from Super Bowl XLIX

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll recently reflected on the emotional impact the outcome of Super Bowl XLIX had on the team.

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll recently reflected on the team’s crushing Super Bowl XLIX loss to the New England Patriots.

Carroll said that staying strong in the wake of that loss was a tremendous challenge, but that he had to keep the team competitive somehow.

“It was such an emotional way to lose for everybody, and we had to rebuild everybody’s brain,” Carroll told NFL.com’s Mike Silver in April. “We just bludgeoned our way through that. I tried to just make sure that I was unwavering. So, that was the challenge: to allow for the grieving and all of that, and then see what the issues were, and then put it back together.”

Carroll admitted that some former and current Seahawks players may never put that devastating loss past them.

“Yeah, that was hard,” Carroll continued. “It was a hard challenge. It was really hard on some players. And some of us will never get over it.”

Nearly every player who played for Seattle in that Super Bowl is elsewhere now, so the Seahawks must look ahead to the 2020 season.
