Oklahoma Sooners 2025 commitment tracker

The Oklahoma Sooners are off to a much faster start in the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag] than in 2024. In fact, [autotag]Kevin Sperry[/autotag] committed to the 2025 class (March 13, 2023) before OU had received its first commitment for the 2024 class: [autotag]Jeremiah Newcombe[/autotag] (March 25, 2023).

The Sooners have put together another phenomenal class but the centerpiece came when five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi committed to the Sooners on Wednesday. That gave Oklahoma their third straight recruiting class with at least one five-star prospect and their fifth in the last three years.

Additionally, it provided another elite piece for the Sooners to work with in the trenches after adding [autotag]Adepoju Adebawore[/autotag] in 2023 and [autotag]David Stone[/autotag] in 2024 on the defensive side of the ball. Now, Bill Bedenbaugh has his cornerstone of the future on the offensive side of the ball. The Sooners have been working overtime to strengthen their talent along the line of scrimmage.

Now with Fasusi committed, the Sooners turn their attention to [autotag]Andrew Babalola[/autotag], [autotag]Christian Jones[/autotag], and [autotag]Jonah Williams[/autotag], their final big-time targets in the 2025 cycle. Babalola is said to be down to Michigan, Stanford, and Oklahoma. Jones is leaning toward Nebraska but likely won’t commit until the fall. Williams was once a heavy Oklahoma lean, but his recruitment has broadened over the last six months to include LSU, Texas, Texas A&M, and Oregon. There could also be a surprise addition or flip over the next few months ahead of the early signing period.

Oklahoma Sooners receive commitment from 4-Star WR Emmanuel Choice

Oklahoma Sooners add another four-star wide receiver, earning a commitment from Emmanuel Choice.

The Oklahoma Sooners and wide receivers coach [autotag]Emmitt Jones[/autotag] just continue to add big-time playmakers. After adding [autotag]Marcus Harris[/autotag] to the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag] last week, the Sooners picked up another commitment from On3 four-star wide receiver [autotag]Emmanuel Choice[/autotag] on Sunday.

The No. 36 wide receiver in the country, according to On3, chose the Sooners over offers from Nebraska, TCU, Texas A&M, and USC. He also held offers from Missouri, Texas, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.

This summer, Choice took official visits with USC, Missouri, Texas A&M, and most recently, Oklahoma on June 21.

Choice is a playmaker in every sense of the word for Lancaster High in Texas. He does a great job of using his 6-foot-4 frame and wingspan to go above the rim to beat cornerbacks in 50-50 situations. He’s a fluid route runner who has the ability to create yards after the catch due to his size and physicality.

Emmanuel Choice represents the 17th player committed to the Oklahoma Sooners 2025 recruiting class and the fourth wide receiver, joining [autotag]Gracen Harris[/autotag], [autotag]Elijah Thomas[/autotag], and Marcus Harris.

Oklahoma Sooners favored to land 2025 4-star WR Cortez Mills

The Oklahoma Sooners appear to have made a strong impression on four-star wide receiver Cortez Mills.

The Oklahoma Sooners have built quite the wide receiver depth chart under position coach [autotag]Emmitt Jones[/autotag] in his year and a half in Norman.

In the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag], the Sooners have already added [autotag]Gracen Harris[/autotag], [autotag]Elijah Thomas[/autotag] and most recently [autotag]Marcus Harris[/autotag]. Now, the Sooners may be closing in on another target, four-star wide receiver Cortez Mills.

Mills was recently in Norman for an official visit with the Sooners, and while he was at one point projected to land with Clemson, it looks like Oklahoma has taken a lead in his recruitment.

Parker Thune and Brandon Drumm of OU Insider and Rivals issued futurecasts favoring Oklahoma for the four-star prospect out of South Florida.

Mills is a natural at wide receiver. He displays a great understanding of how to attack zone coverage, finding soft spots and slowing his route to give his quarterback an option against zone. He displays enough speed to get behind the defense. Mills has soft hands and shows the ability to play above the defender to make contested catches. He has good contact balance, creating yards after the catch to create big plays in the passing game.

Mills was expected to take an official visit to Miami, but after meeting with the Sooners, he took to social media to announce he’d no longer be taking the trip to South Beach.

He’s a top 200 prospect across the board and considered the No. 69 player in the 2025 recruiting class by Rivals. On3 and ESPN have him inside the top 110 in the nation.

Mills holds 27 Power Four offers, including nine from SEC schools. This will be a recruitment to watch as Jones and the Sooners made a strong impression during his official visit.

Oklahoma Sooners earn commitment from 4-star WR Marcus Harris

The Oklahoma Sooners added another blue-chip prospect to the 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of 4-star WR Marcus Harris.

The Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver group continues to fill out for the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag]. After hosting [autotag]Marcus Harris[/autotag] on an official visit over the weekend, the four-star prospect out of Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Ca. has committed to the Sooners.

Harris is considered a top 250 prospect across the board and is a consensus four-star wide receiver, ranking inside the top 30 at the position by each of the four major recruiting sites. ESPN has him ranked the highest, coming in as the No. 10 wide receiver and the No. 118 player overall in the 2025 class.

It’s another big recruiting win for Oklahoma and wide receivers coach [autotag]Emmett Jones[/autotag] as Harris chose the Sooners over offers from Georgia, Tennessee, UCLA, and Oregon. He held 26 Power Four offers, with 11 coming from SEC programs.

Harris shows a great understanding of how to play the wide receiver position. He shows fantastic quickness and does a great job setting up the defender to create separation out of his breaks. He’s a tough player at the catch point, showing really good concentration in contested catch situations. Harris also displays the ability to adjust to the ball in the air, coming back for the ball or adjusting his route to get his hands to the ball and bring in the catch.

He was primarily used as an outside wide receiver, but shows the necessary traits, like quickness, route running, and toughness to be a threat out of the slot as well.

Harris joins a class that includes wide receivers, [autotag]Elijah Thomas[/autotag] and [autotag]Gracen Harris[/autotag].

The commitment puts the Oklahoma Sooners just in front of the USC Trojans in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings for the 2025 cycle.

Sooners No. 7 in ESPN’s recruiting class rankings for 2025

The Oklahoma Sooners have several high-profile recruitments still underway, but they’re in a great spot already in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Recruiting is certainly a strong point for the Oklahoma Sooners under [autotag]Brent Venables[/autotag]. On both sides of the ball, OU has landed blue chip prospects, including five-star players [autotag]Jackson Arnold[/autotag] (2023), [autotag]Adepoju Adebawore[/autotag] (2023), [autotag]Peyton Bowen[/autotag] (2023), and [autotag]David Stone[/autotag] (2024).

It’s set the stage for the Sooners to contend when they make their move into the SEC. In the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag], the Sooners are already off to a great start with the summer recruiting season approaching. With 15 commitments, the Sooners sit No. 3 in the nation and No. 1 in the SEC in 247Sports team recruiting rankings.

And the Sooners are well within the top 10 of ESPN’s top 25 recruiting classes (ESPN+) for the 2025 cycle.

The Sooners’ first official class as a member of the SEC already has a strong foundation. It’s anchored by offensive firepower, including a pair of ESPN 300 wide receivers in [autotag]Elijah Thomas[/autotag] and [autotag]Gracen Harris[/autotag]. Harris is quick and has good hands. Thomas, an in-state commit, is a precise route-runner and offers a wide catch radius. Running back [autotag]Tory Blaylock[/autotag] can be an electric playmaker with excellent speed — he has registered a max speed north of 21 mph in games.

The Sooners stayed in-state to land [autotag]Kevin Sperry[/autotag] at QB. He has a quick release and good accuracy and threw for over 2,500 yards and completed 68% of his passes as a junior. In-state defensive end [autotag]Alexander Shieldnight[/autotag] has first-step quickness and active hands and tallied 11 sacks as a junior. While much of their class hails from OU’s primary recruiting base, [autotag]Trent Wilson[/autotag] was a nice win out of Maryland. It’s a class that’s equally impressive on defense as it is on offense. Sperry has the chance to be every bit as impactful as the quarterbacks that Oklahoma’s brought on board over the last few years under Venables. His low-key recruitment has been an asset for the Sooners. With their quarterback committed, and helping peer recruit, the Sooners have been able to focus their efforts on an offensive line class that is as elite as 2024’s defensive line class was.

Even though Oklahoma’s experienced coordinator changes on both sides of the ball, they’ve continued to recruit at an incredibly high level. And with high-profile recruitments still to be decided along the offensive line and with five-star safety [autotag]Jonah Williams[/autotag], the Sooners have a chance to add another impactful class to the depth chart in 2025.

There’s still a long way to go in the 2025 cycle, but the Sooners are in a great spot. Any concerns about Brent Venables and his staff’s ability to recruit at Oklahoma are long gone.

Sooners an early SEC winner in the 2025 recruiting class

The Oklahoma Sooners are one of the early winners in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Brent Venables and his coaching staff can recruit. They’ve put together top 10 classes in each of their first national signing days in Norman. That includes the 2022 class, when they only had a couple of months to recover the class after Lincoln Riley left.

And they’re already off to a fantastic start to the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag]. According to College Sports Wire, the Oklahoma Sooners are one of the early winners out of the SEC in the 2025 cycle.

New to the SEC, Oklahoma currently holds nine commitments in their 2025 recruiting class to rank No. 6 in the nation, as well as second in the conference. Headlining that group is a trio of Top 200 prospects [autotag]Elijah Thomas[/autotag], [autotag]Ryan Fodje[/autotag], and [autotag]Kevin Sperry[/autotag], the first of which is one of the top players in the state of Oklahoma. – Mett Melton, College Sports Wire

Sperry made noise when he jumped the 2024 recruiting class with his March 2023 commitment. He’s been locked in since and helping Oklahoma recruit. The four-star prospect is a talented passer who could ascend to five-star status by the end of the cycle.

Wide receiver is a strength of this recruiting cycle. Emmett Jones has commitments from talented four-star prospects Elijah Thomas and  [autotag]Trynae Washington[/autotag], and three-star receiver [autotag]Gracen Harris[/autotag]. It’s a dynamic group with big-time playmaking ability. As Jones has shown us in his time with the Sooners, he’ll continue to recruit to add talent to the wide receiver group.

The Sooners 2025 recruiting class got a big boost from the addition of Ryan Fodje. They were ahead of the curve on Fodje, who’s gone from being largely unknown in recruiting circles to a top-100 prospect in the cycle. Fodje joins [autotag]Owen Hollenbeck[/autotag], who a lot of people believe will be a standout interior offensive lineman.

And they’re still in the mix for several five-star offensive tackles. Oklahoma’s been projected to land [autotag]Ty Haywood[/autotag], and many feel they’re in a good position for [autotag]Michael Fasusi[/autotag]. They also have moved the needle for [autotag]Antoni Omugoro[/autotag], an athletic offensive line prospect from Elk City.

Offensive line could end up having the star power that the defensive line had for the 2024 class.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Sooners are on track to land their fourth five-star prospect since Venables’ arrival if the projections for five-star safety [autotag]Jonah Williams[/autotag] hold up.

With less than a year to go in the 2025 recruiting cycle, the Sooners have positioned themselves to have another strong group of prospects joining the program next year.

2025 prospects react on social media to their junior day weekend with the Oklahoma Sooners.

The Sooners are off and running in the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag] with nine commitments as they turn the page on 2024.

Over the weekend, a number of Oklahoma’s 2025 targets made the trip to Norman for their annual junior day. It was an opportunity for the next class of prospects to meet with coaches, tour the facilities, and get a deeper look at Oklahoma football.

It has yielded positive reactions. The Sooners received a trio of Rivals Futurecasts for four-star running back Tory Blaylock and five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham included the Sooners in his top 12 after their visits.

But they weren’t the only ones who enjoyed their visits, here’s how other prospects reacted to their time with the Oklahoma Sooners over the weekend.

Oklahoma to host talented 2025 prospects for first Junior Day of new recruiting cycle

Oklahoma is hosting their first Junior Day for the Class of 2025. We’ve compiled a list of the expected or confirmed attendees.

Oklahoma’s recruiting has been borderline elite since Brent Venables took over as Norman’s head man. The three recruiting classes have been well-balanced from top to bottom. As the 2024 class begins to acclimate themselves as student-athletes on campus this month, the staff has pressed on and is looking ahead to the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag].

The 2025 class is a switch-up from the previous classes. If nothing else because the Sooners have a slew of commits already in the boat for 2025. In the last few years, Oklahoma has exploded onto the scene in the summer. Some early lifting and the byproduct of terrific relationships built over the last few years have already paid dividends for this staff. The Sooners already have nine commits for 2025.

Sooners latest to offer five-star 2025 WR Caleb Cunningham

Oklahoma was the latest to offer consensus five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham.

Emmett Jones has had a fantastic start to his tenure as the Oklahoma Sooners wide receivers coach.

He’s picked up two transfer portal commitments, five commitments in the 2024 cycle, and so far three pledges in the 2025 cycle.

Oklahoma’s 2025 wide receiver class looks formidable already, with [autotag]Jaden Nickens[/autotag], [autotag]Elijah Thomas[/autotag], and [autotag]Gracen Harris[/autotag] in the boat.

The Sooners are pushing hard for Oklahoma legacy Isaiah Mozee, a four-star receiver out of Lee’s Summit North High School in Missouri. Mozee’s father was a running back with the Sooners under Bob Stoops.

Oklahoma isn’t satisfied just yet, as the Sooners recently offered 2025 five-star receiver Caleb Cunningham. Cunningham is the number one player in Mississippi and a consensus five-star. He’s an ultra-talented receiver with an alluring blend of size and speed that he leverages well to dominate his opponents.

He’s very much a national recruit with offers from programs all over. He’s also a standout on the basketball court, where he finished his sophomore season averaging over 20 points a game.

Oklahoma is very much in this recruiting battle because of Emmett Jones’s ability to connect with kids. It will be interesting to see how this recruitment unfurls in the coming months.

Oklahoma set to host a number of prospects for season opener vs. Arkansas State

The Oklahoma Sooners are hosting a number of prospects over the next few recruiting cycles for their season opener. Who’s will be in attendance?

Oklahoma’s first game of the season comes against Arkansas State in what could be a blistering day in Norman, Oklahoma. Aside from the pageantry of the first game and the excitement it’ll generate, the Sooners will also be playing host to a number future Sooners and other OU targets.

With the summer dead period officially over, athletes can revisit schools. Oklahoma has already established a nice little list of visitors of both the official and unofficial variety.
