Spartans offer 2026 elite 4-star DL Elijah Golden

Michigan State football has extended a scholarship offer to one of the top defensive linemen in the 2026 class

Michigan State football has extended a scholarship offer to one of the top defensive linemen in the 2026 class.

Four-star defensive lineman Elijah Golden of IMG Academy has reportedly received an offer from the Spartans. Tom Loy of 247Sports reported the offer on Monday.

Golden ranks as the No. 3 defensive lineman in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2026 class. He’s also listed as the No. 22 overall prospect in the class.

Golden holds offers from nearly 20 programs, according to 247Sports. Some of the other more notable programs to offer Golden includes Michigan, Notre Dame, Florida, Ohio State, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Washington.

Tom Loy explains his crystal ball pick for DL Elijah Golden to Notre Dame

It seems like the Irish have everything Golden is looking for

Last week we found out that 247Sports insider Tom Loy believed that Notre Dame football was the leader in 2026 defensive lineman [autotag]Elijah Golden[/autotag]’s recruitment.

On Monday, the national college football recruiting analyst went into more detail (subscription required) on his crystal ball pick. Loy went on to say that Golden “loves everything about the program, the schoo, head coach Marcus Freeman, and defensive line coach Al Washington.”

There is one school that he believes also had a very legit shot at this moment to contend with the Irish, Ohio State. It’s never easy to lure a Florida prospect up North, but Notre Dame has a great chance to do so.

Golden is viewed as a 4-star prospect, the No. 160 overall recruit and 17th rated defensive lineman according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Notre Dame football gets a crystal ball pick for 2026 defensive end

The Irish are trending in the right direction for the Floria star defensive lineman

Notre Dame football is seeing a vast uptick in its recruiting since Marcus Freeman took over the program.

No longer are the Irish taking lower options, but instead are looking to add high-level prospects who are still looking for the academic and athletic mix. One of those players is Florida defensive lineman [autotag]Elijah Golden[/autotag], who was offered by the Irish in March.

The scholarship has clearly made an impact on the nations No. 160 overall prospect and 17th ranked defensive end according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. It was enough of one for Tom Loy to log a crystal ball pick for Golden to land with the Irish.

At 6-foot, 4-inches and 260-pounds, Golden could play multiple positions along the line in college. Hopefully it’s for the Irish when he does.
