Why there are no NBA games scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 7 2023 explained

There’s a good reason for this.

If you tuned in to the NBA’s in-season tournament action on Friday, you were probably itching to get to Tuesday considering how good those games were.

But when you searched for the schedule, you were probably shocked to learn that there are actually no NBA games on the league’s schedule on Tuesday, Nov. 7 2023. I don’t just mean in-season tournament games, either. There’s not a single game being played on Tuesday.

That’s weird considering that the in-season tournament games are supposed to be broadcast every Tuesday and Friday until December when the tournament ends.

But there’s a simple explanation for this — and it’s a pretty good reason, too. The reason why is it’s election day in certain states across the country.

Why does that matter for the NBA? Let’s dive into it.

Chiefs’ Eric Bieniemy praises successful Election Day at Arrowhead Stadium

Bieniemy had high praise for several members of the Chiefs organization for making Arrowhead Stadium into a polling place on Election Day,

The entire country continues to await the official results of the 2020 presidential election. The Kansas City Chiefs organization proudly opened up Arrowhead Stadium this past Tuesday as a polling place for many Missouri citizens. The endeavor to use Arrowhead has been praised locally and throughout the league.

Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy spoke highly of the event’s execution, thanking a number of members of the organization for making it happen during Friday’s press conference.

”I just want to give special praises and a shoutout to Clark Hunt, Mark Donovan, Pat Mahomes and all the other guys who helped make this happen. What a special day on Tuesday,” said Bieniemy ”A special day, a remarkable day in history. For those guys to work it out and allow people to come in and have a great voting experience here at Arrowhead Stadium, that’s something that I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”

Bieniemy continued to speak about his personal experience voting this year. He also emphasized everyone continued to work and remain focused on Sunday’s matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

“You know what, it was a day of voting. You also have to understand, it was a day of work. We have an opponent to prepare for.” said Bieniemy ”Me and my family took care of our voting a couple of weeks ago. I was just excited about what was taking place, not only here, but also what was taking place around the country. As far as the other stuff, we were locked in. We’ve got a great challenge this week and a hell of an opponent lined up to play. I wanted to make sure my focus was purely on the Carolina Panthers.”

The Chiefs want to keep rolling with their winning streak on Sunday as they head into the bye week. Bieniemy’s offense is clicking on all cylinders, reminiscent of last season’s Super Bowl run. Despite an important week outside of football, his emphasis on preparation and teaching remains unparalleled.

Trae Young thanked poll workers at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena by buying them lunch

Shoutout to Trae Young

Georgia has been one of a handful of states at the center of everyone’s attention over the few days during the election.

State Farm Arena was part of that. The Hawks’ home arena served as a polling place for citizens in Atlanta to get out their vote on election day with lots of poll workers helping them cast their ballots.

We already knew how important their jobs were, but with how close the state of Georgia is and how much Atlanta has mattered in the race it’s more apparent than ever. These people did some tremendous work.

And as a thank you, Atlanta Hawks All-Star Trae Young bought the poll workers at the arena boxed lunches from Jason’s Deli.

As a member of the Trae Young Hive, I’ve never been more proud. Trae Young Hive stand up.

Quinnen Williams trolls Jets fans with reminder to vote before trade deadline

Quinnen Williams may have caused some Jets fans to fear he had been traded, but he really just wanted them to vote.

With the NFL trade deadline and Election Day both falling on Tuesday, Quinnen Williams decided to have some fun with Jets fans.

New York reportedly fielded calls on Williams a couple of weeks before the deadline, but Adam Gase put trade rumors to rest last week, definitively stating that Williams was not going anywhere. Despite Gase’s comments, Williams used the deadline chatter to promote an important message, sending Jets fans to his Instagram story for a “big announcement.”

Williams’ agent, Nicole Lynn, also got in on the bit, directing fans to Williams’ Instagram for the supposedly big news.

The fans who flocked to Williams’ Instagram with a pit in their stomach thinking the second-year defensive lineman had been traded breathed a sigh of relief upon opening his story. He was not using social media to share news of a trade, but instead urging the masses to get out and vote.

Williams’ light-hearted personality has been a breath of fresh air since he arrived in New York last season — especially given Gang Green’s struggles the last two years. It should come as no surprise that he put that personality to use in order to bring some levity to a tense situation.

Rest assured, Jets fans, Williams is not going anywhere. He just wants you to exercise your right to vote in one of the most important presidential elections in recent history.
