Alabama Baseball continue offensive success in 13-6 win over Samford

The Tide carried their success at the plate into Tuesday’s game against Samford, which Alabama won 13-6.

The Alabama baseball team continued its winning streak with a 13-6 victory over Samford on Tuesday evening. The Tide have now won four games in a row.

Alabama was led offensively by seniors Ed Johnson and Tommy Seidl. The two combined to go 4-for-6 at the plate and drove in seven runs. Both of them contributed in a timely manner with a solo homerun and a three-run home run respectively.

Freshman Colby Shelton continued to mash at the plate with his 16th home run of the season. Shelton hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning.

Aden Moza received the win on the mound after going 1.1 innings of one hit ball and allowing just one run.

Alabama improved to 30-12 with the win while the Bulldogs fell to 22-19 on the season.

The Tide will travel to Baton Rouge for a three-game series against LSU starting on Friday.

Alabama Baseball defeats No. 22 Kentucky 4-3 in series finale

Alabama baseball snapped No. 22 Kentucky’s 17-game win streak with a 4-3 win on Sunday. The Tide avoid the series sweep.

The Alabama baseball team defeated the No. 22-ranked Kentucky Wildcats in Sunday’s series finale. With a win, the Tide avoided a three-game sweep and broke the Wildcats’ 17-game winning streak.

The Tide were led offensively by Andrew Pinckney, Jim Jarvis, and Ed Johnson. Pinckney drove in two runs while Jarvis and Johnson drove in one run a piece.

On the mound, Alabama’s ace Grayson Hitt led the way. Hitt pitched six innings having allowing two runs on five hits. He also struck out five batters.

Redshirt-freshman Kade Woods came in relief. He allowed just one run while striking out four batters.

The Tide improved to 19-6 and 2-4 in the conference following Sunday’s win. As for the Wildcats, they fell to 22-3 and 5-1 in the conference.

Alabama will travel to Huntsville on Tuesday to face Middle Tennessee State. The Blue Raiders are 11-11 this season. The first pitch is scheduled for 6 CST.

Alabama Baseball defeats Columbia 6-2 to even up the series

No. 18 Alabama defeated Columbia 6-2 on Saturday. The Tide lost Game 1 of the series 10-7.

The Alabama baseball team suffered its first loss of the season last night to Columbia. On Saturday, the Tide returned to the Joe and took Game 1 of the day 6-2.

Alabama was led offensively by graduate-senior Ed Johnson and freshman Colby Shelton.

Shelton went 1-for-5 at the plate while hitting a two-run home run in the fifth inning. He has hit ten home runs so far this season.

Johnson contributed in the fifth inning with a home run of his own. The Tennessee Tech transfer hit a grand slam to put the Tide ahead 6-1.

In the end, the Tide’s pitching was enough to pick up the win. Sophomore Ben Hess picked up the win on the mound. Hess threw five innings allowing just one run on three hits. He also struck out seven batters.

In relief, freshman Riley Quick contributed on the mound as well. Quick threw three innings allowing one run and striking out five batters.

Alabama improved to 15-1 while the Lions fell to 3-6 on the season.

Game 3 of the series was moved to Saturday with the potential for bad weather in the area on Sunday.

Alabama Baseball sweeps series against High Point with 4-2 win in Game 3

No. 20 Alabama defeated High Point by a final score of 4-2 in Game 3 of the series. The Tide sweeped the Panthers this weekend.

The Alabama baseball team took the sweep against High Point with a 4-2 win on Sunday afternoon.

Alabama did not string together many hits in Game 3 of the series. However, the Tide’s offense did just enough to come away with the win.

Ed Johnson led the way at the plate with one hit, two walks, and one run batted in. Johnson also scored a run in Alabama’s winning effort.

Graduate senior Jacob McNairy led the way on the mound. McNairy pitched five innings on Sunday allowing five hits and two earned runs. The bullpen performed well, as redshirt-freshman Kade Woods threw two scoreless innings while also striking out five batters.

Freshman Riley Quick picked up the save for Alabama when he was called to action in the ninth inning and shut down the Panthers’ offense.

Alabama improves to 8-0 while High Point falls to 3-4 on the new season. The Tide will return to the Joe for a midweek matchup against Jacksonville State on Wednesday. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CST and will be airing on SEC Network+.

Alabama Baseball put on offensive display with 9-4 win over High Point

No. 20 Alabama defeated High Point 9-4 on Friday evening. Relief pitcher Brock Blatter picked up his first win of the season.

The Alabama baseball team returned to the diamond for Friday’s series opener against High Point. The Tide were able to continue to put on a hitting clinic en route to a 9-4 win.

Originally, Alabama was scheduled to travel to Malibu to take on the Pepperdine Waves. Due to inclement weather, the two cancelled their series meeting. The Crimson Tide added High Point for this weekend as part of a three-game series between the two programs.

In Game 1, Alabama was able to put together enough hits to overcome a valiant effort by the Panthers. Offensively, Alabama was led by transfers Ed Johnson and Mac Guscette. The two combined to hit three home runs while driving in six runs.

Sophomore Brock Blatter moved to 1-0 on the season after an impressive performance on the mound. In two and two-thirds innings, Blatter struck out six batters and allowed one run.

Alabama moved to 6-0 while High Point fell to 3-2 on the season. The two will return to action for Game 2 tomorrow. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. CST and will be airing on SEC Network+.

Alabama Baseball knocks off Tennessee-Martin in midweek matchup

No. 20 Alabama defeated Tennessee-Martin on Wednesday by a final score of 10-0. The Tide improves to 5-0.

The Alabama baseball program improved to 5-0 after defeating Tennessee-Martin 10-0 on Wednesday. The Tide caused the game to end early after seven innings due to a 10-run lead.

Alabama was led at the plate by graduate seniors Drew Williamson and Ed Johnson. The two combined to have three hits while also driving in four runs. Junior Mac Guscette also drove in two runs and earned two walks.

On the mound, redshirt freshman Kade Woods picked up the win. He threw three scoreless innings while striking out five batters. Freshman Riley Quick made his second appearance of the year and pitched one scoreless inning and struck out two batters.

Alabama will return to the Joe for a three-game series against Holy Cross this weekend. The first game of the series will be played on Friday. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CST.
