Cardinals met with athletic OL Dylan McMahon

N.C. State OL Dylan McMahon has an incredible athletic profile.

The Arizona Cardinals are in the middle of their preparation for the 2024 NFL draft and that include meetings with many prospects, whether they be top-30 meetings when they fly them in, meetings and pro days, the Senior Bowl and combine, or whether they are virtual.

The Cardinals have had a virtual meeting with N.C. State offensive lineman Dylan McMahon, the player told The Draft Network’s Justin Melo.

McMahon has others scheduled with other teams.

McMahon is an intriguing prospect because of his athleticism. He is 6-foot-3 and 299 pounds. At the NFL combine, he ran the 40 in 5.10 seconds but other marks are elite for his size. He completed the three-cone in 7.26 seconds and the short shuttle was 4.33 seconds (important note on the short shuttle — it is a cheat code for draftable linemen and Cardinals 2023 fourth-round pick Jon Gaines met the number)

He sees himself as a center at the NFL level.

“I just feel like that’s where I fit best in an NFL scheme,” he told Melo. “I just love playing that center position. Simply put, it’s a lot more fun to me.”

His short arms (31 3/4 inches) and lack of strength might make make him undraftable but his athleticism is something some team like the Cardinals might bet on with a Day 3 pick.

2024 NFL Mock Draft: Trades for QBs shake up Round 1; Ravens retool offensive line

We’re looking at an updated three round NFL mock draft for all 32 teams after the first wave of free agency

The Ravens are still in the crux of a potential Super Bowl window. Still, they’ll look drastically different on both sides of the football after undergoing massive changes to player personnel and the coaching staff. Eric DeCosta started the off-season with urgency, signing Justin Madubuike, one of the league’s best defensive linemen, to an extension. After inking Madubuike to a deal, Baltimore seemed to win the first wave of the free agency period after getting Derrick Henry for two years and $16 million. The talented running back could earn $20 million throughout the deal. All wasn’t perfect, as the Ravens suffered significant free-agent losses. Patrick Queen (Steelers), Geno Stone (Bengals), and Gus Edwards (Chargers) were among eight free agents to sign elsewhere. Baltimore also traded Morgan Moses to the Jets and released Tyus Bowser in a cost-cutting move. With the second wave of free agency set to begin, we’re looking at an updated three-round mock draft.

Cowboys first 7-round mock draft of 2024: OL, LB, RB needs filled

Yes, it’s way too early. Yes, the Cowboys still have games to play. No, we don’t care, we’re still going to start looking at players who can help fill the inevitable holes in the roster. Join us. | From @KDDrummondNFL

The regular season slate of a playoff campaign isn’t even finished yet, and there’s a mock draft? Ludicrous? Nope, just starting to do some reconnaissance on the upcoming 2024 draft class. The Dallas Cowboys are one win away from securing the No. 2 seed in the NFC and hoping to use that momentum to propel them further than they’ve been in almost three decades of football.

Assuming Mike McCarthy and company will be back in 2024, there are a few glaring needs that Dallas is surviving in 2023, but could certainly use some assistance on. Mock drafts are fun exercises, knowing the club will have several key roster decisions to make over the next two months leading up to free agency. Needs will likely change, but for now it’s clear where upgrades can be made.

The Cowboys once again need better depth along the offensive line. Perhaps some of the younger players such as Matt Waletkzo, TJ Bass and Asim Richards ascend, but there need to be players added. Tyron Smith and Tyler Biadasz are both free agents at the end of the season.

At running back, Tony Pollard is free to walk as well, as is linebacker Leighton Vander Esch. Vander Esch’s neck injury has the organization questioning whether he’ll play football again. There are key areas that must be addressed.

In this seven-round exercise, we attempt to plug those holes in the best imaginable way. While collegiate all-star games, the scouting combine and individual workouts will change rankings considerably, these PFF rankings are based on grades from the actual games on the field.

Here’s how we’d address the Cowboys’ needs.
