The No. 18 Duke Blue Devils (3-0) will take their undefeated record on the road to face the UConn Huskies (0-3) Saturday. Kickoff from Pratt & Whitney Stadium is at 3:30 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Duke vs. UConn odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

This will be just the third all-time meeting between two schools best known for their basketball Prowess. UConn won 45-14 when these teams last met in 2007 and recorded a 22-20 victory in the first meeting in 2002. However, it will have a tall task ahead to topple the undefeated Blue Devils, currently ranked No. 18 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

While Duke and coach Mike Elko come into this game undefeated, UConn and coach Jim Mora come in yet to win a game. In its first game since losing starting QB Joe Fagnano for the season, UConn lost 24-17 to Florida International as a 7-point favorite on Saturday. The Huskies also lost their first game vs. the ACC this season, falling 24-14 to NC State in their opener.

Duke at UConn picks and predictions

Prediction

Duke 37, UConn 13

Moneyline

PASS.

Neither of these numbers is worth a play, either straight up or as part of a parlay.

Against the spread

BET DUKE -21.5 (-105).

Even without QB Riley Leonard throwing a TD pass, Duke demolished Northwestern 38-14 Saturday in its third straight home game to start the season. This came just 2 weeks after Duke defeated Clemson 28-7, a game in which Leonard threw for just 175 yards.

The Blue Devils are undefeated due to their being ranked 5th nationally with 242.7 rush yards per game. The Duke offensive line will overwhelm the defense of the Huskies and this game will not be close.

While UConn might get some garbage time scores, it will not be enough to get this game to within the 21.5-point spread.

Over/Under

BET OVER 44.5 (-110).

Duke has been an effective running team early in the season and is 1-1-1 O/U this season. The only Under that cashed was the 28-7 victory over Clemson in the opener.

The Tigers’ defense is far superior to that of UConn and the Huskies will find it challenging to hold down the offense of the Blue Devils.

While Duke will get to 35 in this game, this just means UConn must get to 10. While it will take a while to do so, UConn will eventually get there and the game will go OVER 44.5 (-110) before the final whistle.
