Ohio State football names ‘dudes of the week’ for week ending July 13

Look for this trio to be a big part of things this fall! #GoBucks

As we get closer and closer to the start of the Ohio State football season, we continue to get some behind the scenes news on what’s going on over at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center as the team preps for the start of fall camp in early August.

The OSU creative team is always active on social media, and we’ve seen it reveal what the program is tabbing “dudes of the week” throughout the summer, and we’re always interested to see what players are recognized. It can sometimes give us an idea of who is performing at a high level in practice.

We just heard who those “dudes of the week” are for the week ending July 13, and there’s a trio of Buckeyes who were announced on X. Those three players are defensive lineman Ty Hamilton, tight end Gee Scott Jr., and receiver Emeka Egbuka.

Wouldn’t it be something if Scott is starting to pay dividends after kind of toiling close to a starting spot and become a weapon at the tight end position? Either way, here’s a look at the social media post that recognized the three veteran Ohio State players.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on what players seem to be getting the recognition as we go through this whole thing and try to bring you the news.

Wisconsin football is set to begin spring practice later this month in preparation for the 2024 season.

The Badgers make a concerted effort to keep the fanbase engaged during the offseason, especially as new faces enter the building and the team develops off the field.

One way it does so is by posting its ‘Dudes of the Week,’ highlighting the weight room work of select players. The initiative is led by strength coach Brady Collins. Some fans read into the names included, others use it to just look forward to the upcoming season.

Wisconsin strength coach unveils latest Dudes of the Week

Wisconsin strength coach’s latest ‘Dudes of the Week:’

Wisconsin strength coach Brady Collins started the Dudes of the Week trend when he arrived in Madison, Wisconsin, this offseason. The announcement comes in the form of a tweet, and it is designed to recognize members of the program that have excelled during the team’s offseason work.

The month of June is usually a downtime for on-field activities with spring ball far in the rearview mirror, fall camp weeks away and recruiting visits owning the calendar.

That doesn’t mean there isn’t work getting done in preparation for the upcoming season.

This week’s Dudes Of The Week: running back Braelon Allen, defensive lineman Darian Varner, safety Preston Zachman, cornerback Ricardo Hallman, RB Grover Bortolotti, long snapper Peter Bowden, outside linebacker C.J. Goetz, DL Curt Neal and CB Justin Taylor.
