Colorado signees Jordan Seaton, Drelon Miller to participate in high school All-American games

Two Colorado signees are set to play in high school All-American games this week

During the early signing period, top-tier 2024 prospects Jordan Seaton and Drelon Miller made things official with Colorado.

In early January, both of those players are going to play in high school All-American games, per Adam Munsterteiger of BuffStampede. Seaton will play in the 2024 UA Next All-America Game on Wednesday (2 p.m. MT, ESPN) while Miller is set for the All-American Bowl next Saturday (11 a.m. MT, NBC).

Defensive lineman Brandon Davis-Swain (UA Next All-American) and running back Micah Welch (All-American Bowl) were also set to play in their respective All-American games, but both bowed out due to lingering injuries.

Seaton, a five-star offensive lineman, committed to Colorado in early December but took some time to submit his national letter of intent, causing rumors to swirl on whether or not he would come to Boulder. He’s now officially locked in, however.

Miller, a four-star wide receiver from Texas, committed to Colorado on Dec. 10 before signing during the early period.

Seaton and Miller are also set to play in the 2024 Polynesian Bowl on Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. MT (NFL Network), according to BuffStampede.

Colorado’s huge recruiting weekend continues with commitment from four-star WR Dre’lon Miller

Wide receivers coach Brett Bartolone landed a commitment from four-star prospect Dre’lon Miller

One of the most impressive recruiting weekends in Colorado football history got even better on Sunday as 2024 four-star wide receiver Dre’lon Miller announced his commitment.

Miller, who visited Boulder earlier this month, is the No. 13 ranked wide receiver in his class, according to the 247Sports Composite. The 6-foot, 190-pound blue-chip receiver from Texas also had LSU, USC and Texas A&M among his top schools.

With Miller now on board, head coach Deion Sanders gained his sixth commitment of the weekend. Miller, the only non-transfer portal player of the group, joins center Yakiri Walker, OL Tyler Johnson, WR Terrell Timmons Jr., OL Justin Mayers and OL Kahlil Benson.

According to his MaxPreps page, Miller had 52 receptions for 1,010 yards and a touchdown in his senior season at Silsbee High School. He also rushed for 220 yards on 22 carries.

The Buffs’ 2024 class now includes 10 commits.

Where does LSU’s 2024 recruiting class rank after recent shakeups?

Here’s where LSU’s class ranks after some recent shakeups.

LSU’s 2024 class looks different than it did last week.

It took a hit when cornerback [autotag]Ondre Evans[/autotag] flipped to Georgia. It’s a big loss considering Evans was just one of eight top 200 commits in the class and plays a position of need.

The staff did its best to recoup the loss, though. In recent days, the Tigers got commitments from corners [autotag]PJ Woodland[/autotag] and [autotag]Bernard Causey[/autotag]. Both are three stars, but there’s optimism about what they can bring to the class.

The Tigers now sit with five corners in the 2024 class. Causey and Woodland are joined by [autotag]Ju’Juan Johnson[/autotag], [autotag]Cai Bates[/autotag] and [autotag]Wallace Foster[/autotag].

Even with the new additions and the young talent already on the roster, expect LSU to be active recruiting defensive backs in the portal.

But after the recent shakeups, let’s take a look at where LSU’s class stands now.

On3: 11th

247Sports: 12th

The loss of Evans knocked LSU’s class out of the top 10, but the Tigers are in pursuit of top 100 wide receiver [autotag]Dre’lon Miller[/autotag], who decommitted from Texas A&M after a visit to Baton Rouge.

A commitment from Miller would put LSU back in the top 10.

LSU trending for 4-star receiver, recent Texas A&M decommit

Merry flip-mas, everyone.

Merry flip-mas, everyone.

LSU lost two recruits recently in the 2024 recruiting class. One of them flipped to Georgia and the other just reopened his recruitment. It would appear as though the shoe is on the other foot this time as LSU may be the beneficiary of the flipping.

2024 four-star wide receiver [autotag]Drelon Miller[/autotag] recently decommitted from Texas A&M and LSU is now being predicted to land him. Miller is from Silsbee, Texas, where he plays for Silsbee High School. The Silsbee Tigers are 7-0 this season as they try to make a run at a state championship.

LSU On3 recruiting insider Billy Embody gave LSU a 70% chance to land Miller with only two months left before the early signing period begins.

LSU currently has 23 commitments for their 2024 class. A class that has fallen to the No. 13 overall class according to 247Sports. Coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] has lost a couple of recruits in the past few weeks but it seems as though he is working on filling those spots quickly.

Top-100 WR includes Gators in top-9 announcement

The Florida Gators made the most recent cut for four-star Silsbee, Texas receiver Dre’lon Miller on Sunday.

Silsbee, Texas four-star wide receiver [autotag]Dre’lon Miller[/autotag] has narrowed his options down to nine schools, and the Florida Gators have made the cut, according to On3.

The other programs left to compete with Florida are Duke, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Penn State, Southern California, Tennessee and Texas A&M. The Aggies lead the way with five visits on record with the in-state recruit, but Florida is hoping to make a strong impression with a June visit.

Miller is looking to join a program with a strong quarterback, and Florida having five-star signal caller [autotag]DJ Lagway[/autotag] at the top of the 2024 class makes Gainesville an attractive landing spot.

“They having my QB,” Miller said to On3. “And the way he talks about the place and everything, I just can’t wait to get up there.”

Miller is ranked No. 77 overall on the On3 industry ranking and is No. 16 among receivers in the class of 2024. The 247Sports composite is even more bullish on him, ranking him No. 65 nationally and No. 13 at his position.

Miller will announce his commitment on June 29. LSU is the current favorite to land him, according to the On3 recruiting prediction machine. The Tigers have 85.8% odds and are followed by the Aggies with 6.1% in second place. Texas (2.1%) and Georgia (1.8%) round out the top four.

LSU makes top 9 for 2024 4-star wide receiver

LSU has made the cut for a two-sport athlete from the Lone Star State.

LSU has made the top nine for a four-star two-sport athlete from the Lone Star State.

[autotag]Dre’lon Miller[/autotag] is a 6-foot-2, 198-pound, four-star wide receiver from Silsbee, Texas, where he plays for Silsbee High School.

Miller received an offer from LSU to play football on Oct. 22 and received an offer to play basketball on March 6.

He attended LSU’s spring game last weekend to possibly take one last look before he commits on June 29.

The Tigers made the top nine along with Florida, Penn State, USC, Miami, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Georgia and Duke. There are currently no crystal ball projections for Miller but LSU is an 86% favorite per On3.

LSU currently has 13 commits for the 2024 recruiting class with only one wide receiver. There is no such thing as having too many wide receivers because you never know who will end up panning out. Kelly hopes he has found the next star at wide receiver in Miller.

Top-100 WR schedules Florida visit after earning offer

The Gators are working hard in the state of Texas and just offered one of the top receivers in the class of 2024.

The latest recruit from the state of Texas to receive and offer from the Florida Gators is four-star Silsbee wide receiver [autotag]Dre’lon Miller[/autotag], and he’s already planned a trip to Gainesville, according to 247Sports.

Head coach [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] delivered the news personally on Thursday during his first phone call with the Lone Star State prospect. Miller said that Napier left a favorable first impression and was excited about the offer. He’ll get to meet the staff in person on Jan. 28 during the final recruiting weekend until March.

Miller’s 7-on-7 teammate and Florida quarterback commit DJ Lagway will be in town for that visit as well. Reuniting the dynamic duo at Florida is Lagway’s hope, and Miller appears receptive to the Gators’ early bid.

“He’s (Lagway) been talking to me about it before he even committed,” he Miller said to 247Sports. “That’s my boy, so we’ll just have to see. We play on the same 7-on-7 team, so he’s been trying to get me for the longest. I love the offer from Florida.”

Miller is ranked No. 62 overall on the 247Sports composite and No. 7 among receivers in the class of 2024. Rivals is the one boosting him, ranking Miller at No. 43 overall, but the general consensus is that he’s a top-100 talent.
