Draft Wire’s latest 3-round mock NFL draft includes trio of former Gators

Take a look at who Draft Wire expects to be selected in the first three rounds of the NFL draft at the end of the month.

Three weeks remain until the 88th annual edition of the 2023 NFL draft, which kicks off on April 27 and runs until April 29 in Kansas City, Missouri. With the selection order firmly in place, the sports media has been regularly publishing its respective mock draft updates, including Draft Wire’sJeff Risdon, who released his publication’s latest three-round mock projections on Thursday.

The University of Florida is represented by three former players on this list — two of whom are projected as first-round selections — headlined by star quarterback [autotag]Anthony Richardson[/autotag], who Risdon expects to be taken third via a trade by the Tennessee Titans. Tennessee trades No. 11, No. 72 (3rd round) and No. 147 (5th round) and a 2024 first-round pick while the Arizona Cardinals exchange their No. 3 and No. 105 (4th round) picks.

Next up is offensive lineman [autotag]O’Cyrus Torrence[/autotag] who only spent a year in Gainesville but built his stock greatly by making it through his entire collegiate career dating back to his time with the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns without allowing a single sack. Popejoy has the massive man taken at No. 27 overall by the Buffalo Bills.

Last, there is defensive lineman [autotag]Gervon Dexter[/autotag] — a versatile player at his position that is able to expand his roles thanks to his athleticism — who is projected at No. 83 overall by the Seattle Seahawks.

Previous UF alumni taken in the first round of the draft are cornerback [autotag]Kaiir Elam[/autotag] (2022, No. 23), tight end [autotag]Kyle Pitts[/autotag] (2021, No. 4), wide receiver [autotag]Kadarius Toney[/autotag] (2021, No. 20) and cornerback [autotag]CJ Henderson[/autotag] (2020, No. 9).

Taking a look at the Jets’ picks in Draft Wire’s latest mock

Taking a look at the Jets’ picks in Draft Wire’s latest mock

The 2023 NFL Draft is almost here, as crazy as that sounds. That means draft boards are starting to become complete and final mocks are right around the corner.

Our buddy Curt Popejoy over at Draft Wire took the liberty of taking a crack at a three-round mock draft with the first wave of free agency in the books and the draft in the middle of everyone’s radar. Let’s take a look at his picks for the Jets. Note that the Jets still have both second-round picks in this mock.

Breaking down Draft Wire’s latest 3-round mock draft for Chiefs

Our @goldmctNFL takes a look at @TheDraftWire’s latest 3-round mock draft, breaking down the picks made for the #Chiefs.

With less than a month to go until the 2023 NFL draft, we’re seeing more mock draft scenarios for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Our friend Curt Popejoy at Draft Wire released a brand-new 3-round mock draft, which hits three needs that are perceived as some of the biggest for the Chiefs. Could some of these players end up in Kansas City for 2023 and beyond?

Here’s a quick review of the players sent to the Chiefs in this mock draft:

Latest three-round 2023 NFL mock draft features eight former Alabama football stars

Bryce Young falls to No. 4 in Draft Wire’s latest three-round 2023 NFL mock draft!

In just a little over three weeks, the 2023 NFL draft will get underway from Chicago. As is the case each year, the Alabama Crimson Tide is expected to be well represented in the form of selections.

With the draft quickly approaching, mock drafts are flying off the shelf seemingly every minute. On Monday, our friends over at Draft Wire released an updated three-round mock draft following the first wave of NFL free agency.

A total of eight former Alabama football stars were projected in this particular mock, but perhaps the biggest shock of all is the fact that star quarterback Bryce Young fell to pick No. 4 and the Indianapolis Colts.

Let’s take a look at where each former member of the Crimson Tide is projected to be selected!

Three former Gators taken in Draft Wire’s latest 3-round mock

Take a look at who Draft Wire expects to be selected in the first three rounds of the NFL draft at the end of the month.

Three and a half weeks remain until the 88th annual edition of the 2023 NFL draft, which kicks off on April 27 and runs until April 29 in Kansas City, Missouri. With the selection order firmly in place, the sports media has been regularly publishing its respective mock draft updates, including Draft Wire’s Curt Popejoy, who released his latest three-round mock projections on Monday.

The University of Florida is represented by three former players on this list — two of whom are projected as first-round selections — headlined by star quarterback [autotag]Anthony Richardson[/autotag], who Popejoy expects to be taken second overall by the Houston Texans. If that prediction is correct, it would make him the highest-drafted UF alumnus in the modern era and tied with Paul Duhart, who was picked by the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 2 back in 1945.

Next up is offensive lineman [autotag]O’Cyrus Torrence[/autotag] who only spent a year in Gainesville but left a lasting impression in his brief stint. Additionally, he made it through his entire collegiate career dating back to his time with the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns without allowing a single sack. Popejoy has the massive trench warrior taken at No. 18 overall by the Detroit Lions.

Last, there is defensive lineman [autotag]Gervon Dexter[/autotag] who was a solid contributor on a shaky defensive corps during his time with the team. Nonetheless, his inherent talent has him pegged in the second round at No. 53 overall to the Chicago Bears with a pick acquired in a trade from the Baltimore Ravens.

9 Georgia Bulldogs selected in ESPN’s 7-round NFL mock draft

Here’s where each Bulldog landed in ESPN’s latest NFL mock draft…

Georgia set a modern NFL draft record with 15 selections in last year’s draft.

Although the Bulldogs don’t have as big of a draft class this year, Georgia should be well represented in Kansas City.

ESPN’s latest NFL mock draft is full of Bulldogs: nine selections through seven rounds, including three in the first-round — all in the top 10.

Here’s a look at where each Bulldog landed, along with notes on top selections from ESPN’s Jordan Reid and position rankings from Draft Wire.

2023 NFL draft: Three Vols projected in first round

2023 NFL draft: Three Vols are projected in the first round

The 2023 NFL draft will take place April 27-29 in the plaza outside of Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri.

Round 1 of the 2023 NFL draft will take place April 27 (8 p.m. EDT), rounds 2-3 will be held April 28 (7 p.m. EDT), while rounds 4-7 are slated for April 29 (noon EDT).

Ahead of the 2023 NFL draft, Draft Wire released its latest first-round mock draft post free agency.

Three former Vols are projected to be selected in the first round of Draft Wire’s latest NFL mock draft. Wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, quarterback Hendon Hooker and offensive lineman Darnell Wright are projected in the first round.

Jets add help in trenches and backfield in latest Draft Wire 3-round mock

Jets add help in trenches and backfield in latest Draft Wire 3-round mock

With the first week of free agency in the books, we’re starting to get a bit of a clearer view of what teams may do in the draft in about a month.

The Jets have added a little bit of help on the offensive line in Wes Schweitzer, but more help should still be on the menu. Fortunately, the Jets are able to land one of the top options in the latest three-round mock draft at Draft Wire and Jeff Risdon.

Starting at No. 13, the Jets are able to land Peter Skoronski, the offensive tackle from Northwestern. This is also assuming the Jets are able to keep this pick whenever they finally acquire Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

“This is pending the (seemingly inevitable) Aaron Rodgers trade. Making such a trade means catering to your new QB, and getting Rodgers arguably the best all-around pass protection lineman in the draft sure sounds smart, even if his length limitations force Skoronski to play guard.”

In the second round, the Jets get some much-needed help at the defensive tackle position after losing Sheldon Rankins and Nathan Shepherd in free agency. The Jets get Michigan defensive tackle Mazi Smith, who can be a space-eater at six-foot-three and 323 pounds and had 49 tackles last season for the Big Ten champions.

Finally, in the third round, the Jets bring in some backfield talent in the form of Auburn running back Tank Bigsby. Bigsby is coming off back-to-back seasons with ten rushing touchdowns and has over 2,900 yards and 25 rushing touchdowns in three seasons at Auburn.

Morning mock draft: Bills fill holes in both backfields in three-round guess

A three-round mock adds to the backfield on both sides of the ball for the #Bills:

Our friends at Draft Wire conducted a three-round mock draft ahead of the 2023 event. It’s the latest the outlet has dusted off, as it was released following the start of free agency.

What does Buffalo pull off in the mock after their free agency haul?

Here’s the full Bills breakdown from DW’s projection:

Vikings trade up for a cornerback in latest Draft Wire mock draft

Trading up for a cornerback is an interesting idea for the Vikings, especially with how deep this class is at the position

There is no doubt that the Minnesota Vikings need cornerback help this off-season as they only have three players under contract. With a loaded cornerback class in the NFL draft, it’s possible the Vikings could look there to bolster their depth.

On Thursday, Luke Esterling of Draft Wire released a three-round mock draft and had the Vikings trading up in the first round to select Maryland cornerback Deonte Banks.

This defense needs all kinds of help, and hiring Brian Flores as the new coordinator was a huge step in the right direction. He’ll need to reload the personnel, though, and the biggest need is at corner. Banks backed up his strong film with a fantastic combine performance, making him well worth a third-round pick to the Lions to jump ahead of the corner-needy Bucs to make sure they land him.

While Banks is a great fit for the Vikings, Given the draft’s insane depth and the Vikings’ limited draft capital, it’s difficult to see the Vikings trading up for a cornerback in the first round.

Banks is a physical corner who has the versatility to play man coverage and zone coverage. He’s dependable in the run game and has the potential to be a strong cornerback at the next level. It’s just difficult to see the Vikings moving up to grab him.
