A Mother’s Day salute to Chiefs TE Travis Kelce’s mom Donna Kelce

A look back at some classic moments from #Chiefs TE Travis Kelce’s super mom Donna Kelce. | from @EdEastonJr

The Hall of Fame-worthy career of Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce has already pushed him to popularity levels well outside the NFL gridiron. The NFL All-Pro has increased his fans worldwide due to his fun personality and entertainment ventures, but we’ve learned over time that his mother, Donna, is perhaps his biggest fan. She has certainly played a significant role in that growth.

As Kelce’s career blossoms in and outside the NFL, his mother, Donna, has been by his side. In honor of Mother’s Day, we look back at some of Donna Kelce’s special moments supporting her All-Pro son.

Did Donna Kelce’s Facebook comment reveal a Chiefs-Eagles Super Bowl rematch in Week 2?

Travis and Jason’s mom says the two will meet in Week 2 at Arrowhead Stadium.

We know the Kansas City Chiefs will host the Philadelphia Eagles in a regular season rematch of their Super Bowl 57 barnburner in 2023. We just don’t know when.

But Donna Kelce might.

The mother of Chiefs’ All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce and Eagles’ All-Pro center Jason could have some inside information ahead of the NFL’s hyped-up schedule reveal on May 11. She took to Facebook May 5 to talk about a confirmed game in Germany where the Chiefs will be the designated home team. But after rolling with a previous report that game would take place in Frankfurt against the Chicago Bears in November, she pivoted in the comments below. When a fan brought up the idea of a second Germany trip this fall, Kelce revealed the “Chiefs play Eagles Week 2 in Arrowhead.”

That’s a marquee game for the league — one it would likely reveal on television in the lead-up to Thursday night’s overall reveal. But Kelce dropped it like it was common knowledge in response to a comment involving a potential Eagles-New England Patriots showdown in Munich.

Will that be the case? Who knows! The only certainty we have is that these teams will face off in 2023’s regular season in Missouri. It’ll probably be a prime time game. But if anyone is going to cast some light on further details, the mother with a star player on each roster isn’t a bad place to start.

Philadelphia Eagles’ 2023 schedule leaks tracker

Details of the Eagless schedule will trickle out throughout the day, and Philadelphia’s Super Bowl rematch with Kansas City will happen on a Monday night

The Eagles are the reigning NFC East champions, and after winning the NFC and reaching the Super Bowl, they’ll see an uptick in the competition going forward.

Because Philadelphia was a first-place team, it earned Nick Sirianni’s team a first-place schedule. Such a scenario would have Philadelphia facing their usual division foes twice (Dallas, Washington, New York) while also facing all four teams in the NFC West and AFC East.

They’ll also play high-profile road matchups against the Chiefs, Patriots, and Jets.

One of their important regular season matchups could come in Week 2 against a familiar opponent.

Chiefs’ Travis Kelce laughs off botched first pitch at Guardians’ home opener

Travis Kelce is the NFL’s preeminent tight end and a former high-school quarterback, but the Kansas City Chiefs star proved to possess less-than-phenomenal baseball skills when throwing out the first pitch at the Cleveland Guardians’ home opener on Friday.

Appearing with his mother Donna Kelce for the occasion,  Travis got a little too flashy with his windup, and ultimately bungled the first pitch, spiking the ball into the ground. After Twitter was set abuzz by the video, he made a point to defend himself on the platform, pointing to his tendency to spike footballs after touchdowns as his only explanation for the embarrassing affair.

Check it out:

It is never easy to make such an error on camera, but botching a first pitch on opening day in front of tens of thousands of fans from his hometown was sure to be humiliating for the future Hall of Famer.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes had his own take on the matter, asking Kansas City’s beloved Royals to give Kelce a second chance at Kauffman Stadium later in the season.

To his credit, Kelce did manage to cover the runner at home plate. One thing is certain after this catastrophe; the All-Pro tight end made the right call by pursuing a career in football instead of trying to make it in the MLB.

Donna Kelce’s split Chiefs-Eagles jersey on display in Pro Football Hall of Fame

The exceptional career of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has most believing he is destined for a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame once his playing career is over. He and his brother, Jason, of the Philadelphia Eagles, have excellent resumes for future enshrinement but won’t be the first of their family to be honored in the hall.

Travis and Jason’s historical clash at Super Bowl LVII, becoming the first brothers to face off in the biggest game, has now been commemorated by the Pro Football Hall of Fame committee. Donna Kelce’s infamous split Eagles and Chiefs jersey, along with her mismatched team shoes, are immortalized officially in Canton, Ohio.

Donna became a national celebrity throughout Super Bowl week, appearing on top talk shows and giving her sons home-baked cookies during media night. She spoke about the unique moment of having her sons battle on the league’s biggest stage during an interview with the Today Show a week before the game.

“Well, you knew it was going to happen eventually to somebody because there’s so many brothers in the NFL right now that are playing at a very high level,” Donna said. “It just, you know, happened to be that we were the lucky ones first, so I think it’s probably going to be more and more prominent.“

A well-deserved honor for Donna and the Kelce family after a first-of-its-kind Super Bowl matchup between brothers.

Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce talk about seeing mother on-field after Super Bowl LVII

#Eagles C Jason Kelce and #Chiefs TE Travis Kelce talked about their experience seeing their mother on the field after Super Bowl LVII. | from @TheJohnDillon

In an emotional segment on their latest “New Heights Show” podcast, Jason and Travis Kelce talked about the experience of seeing their mother on the field after the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory in Super Bowl LVII. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room when the brothers described what it meant for them to see Donna Kelce on the field after the game.

“The moment I saw mom is when I got really emotional,” the elder Kelce said, holding back tears, “because… man, it was so awesome. You know, she was on top of the world for a week.”

“She was the heavyweight champ, man,” Travis added. “She was on top of it and she shined the whole time, man. That was the coolest part. Mom, you absolutely killed it, dad, you’ve been killing it.”

For Jason Kelce, even though his Philadelphia Eagles lost the Super Bowl, he said he was crying tears of joy because of his mother.

“It was just so cool, man to see, you know to see her get to celebrate in that with us,” Jason reiterated. “It was an awesome moment. I’m just so happy for her, and so happy that, you know, she got her moment, dad got his. So, yeah, I was the only [one], ironically, to lose the Super Bowl. And you [were] crying after the game, and they’re not tears of sadness, you know, they’re tears of joy.”

Clearly, the Kelce Bowl experience was an emotional one for both the center and tight end, and it won’t soon be forgotten, even as both brothers enter the twilight of their NFL careers. While a Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory is a welcome sight for any Kansas City fan, the only shame of the situation is that both of the Kelce brothers couldn’t win together.

Family at the center of Chiefs TE Travis Kelce’s reflection following Super Bowl LVII

#Chiefs TE Travis Kelce reflected on how special this season and Super Bowl LVII have been for him and his family. | from @EdEastonJr

On Sunday night, the Kansas City Chiefs secured their second Super Bowl title in four seasons in thrilling fashion. The always outspoken Travis Kelce fought for his right to party in the game, scoring the Chiefs’ opening drive touchdown on the way to victory.

Kelce faced off with his podcast partner and older brother Jason, marking it the first time brothers have met in battle at the Super Bowl. The younger brother prevailed with the victory, but the week leading up to Sunday proved to be more about the family name than the teams they represented. The All-Pro tight end showed his emotional appreciation for the family during his Super Bowl post-game press conference.

“There’s nothing you can really say to a loved one in that situation like that,” said Kelce as he held back tears at the podium. “You joke around all the time and say that you want to be your brother on the biggest stage ever. But it’s, um, it’s a weird feeling. It’s a weird feeling, and that team has had great leadership and great coaches; Obviously, it came down to the end. And we got all the respect in the world for those Eagles, man, but, um, there’s nothing really I could say to him other than I love him. And that he played a hell of a year, a hell of a season.”

The Kelce brothers started their highly successful “New Heights Show” podcast before the beginning of the season, chronicling their weekly thoughts on everything in football and the world. As everyone got to know the brothers better, the same could be said for their supportive mother, Donna, who made many appearances on top shows discussing her boys ahead of the big game.

“I feel like this was the happiest year of my life, man,” said Kelce. “And both off the field on the field to see my family being in all its glory, get all the flowers. My mom be the center of attention on the Jumbotron before the game on the biggest stage. Being able to get closer with my brother throughout the season and then meet him at the mountaintop it’s the best feeling in the world, man. I’ll tell you what. I don’t know how many I got left, but I’m sure gonna cherish this one forever.”

The emotions were publicly displayed by Kelce, who is usually in party mode after winning a title. Instead, he saw it fit to show his support and appreciation for his family in the twilight of the Kelce Bowl.

Donna Kelce, Travis and Jason’s mom, had a perfect split fit to root on her sons at the Super Bowl

The perfect fit to root on Travis and Jason Kelce.

You knew Donna Kelce — mother to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis and Philadelphia Eagles center Jason and my pick for Super Bowl MVP — wasn’t going to disappoint with what she wore to root them both on at Super Bowl 57 on Sunday.

And that was correct: She tweeted out of a photo of what she was wearing on Sunday. It was a split outfit from top to bottom — half Eagles, half Chiefs, all Kelce, right down to two different sneakers to rep both brothers. Her Mama Kelce bag with their numbers on it? Also perfect.

This is the best and everyone agreed:

Love it all!

What is Donna Kelce’s Super Bowl 57 outfit?

What is Donna Kelce wearing to Super Bowl 57?

When you have sons playing in the Super Bowl, it isn’t easy to pick out your game wardrobe.

Donna Kelce, mom of Travis and Jason, had some help. Her Super Bowl 57 outfit is right down the middle. It had to be with one son as the tight end on the Kansas City Chiefs and the other a center for the Philadelphia Eagles.

No matter what happens at State Farm Stadium on Sunday, one thing is sure: Donna Kelce is a winner.

Jason Kelce’s mom Donna offers a prediction on his NFL playing future

Jason Kelce’s mom Donna offers a prediction on the All-Pro center’s NFL playing future ahead of the Eagles Super Bowl LVII matchup against the Chiefs

Jason Kelce has been taking his career one day at a time for four years now and is on the verge of playing in his second Super Bowl in five years.

Donna Kelce has been an ambassador for Super Bowl LVII, with her two sons making history as the first set of siblings to face off in the league’s biggest game.

While addressing the media recently, Donna Kelce offered a prediction on Jason’s future, telling Jeff McLane of The Inquirer that she doesn’t think he’ll retire at season end.

“I don’t think he’ll retire. This year he’s had more fun than I think he’s ever had.”

A future Hall of Famer, Kelce was recently voted an All-Pro for the fifth time in his career and he’s the anchor of the NFL’s top offensive line and top rushing team.

He also made it clear that the outcome of the Super Bowl will have no direct impact on his playing future as well.
