NFL standings 2023: Jaguars all alone atop AFC South after Week 6

The Jaguars have a little bit of breathing room in the AFC South race after their Week 6 win.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are in sole possession of first place in the AFC South after beating the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6.

While the standings are still tight in the division with only two games separating first place and last, the Jaguars are the only AFC South team with a winning record through the first six games of the season.

With 12 weeks left and 11 games remaining for each team, here’s how the AFC South currently stands:

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars: 4-2 (2-1 in division)
  2. Indianapolis Colts: 3-3 (2-2 in division)
  3. Houston Texans: 3-3 (1-1 in division)
  4. Tennessee Titans: 2-4 (0-1 in division)

The Colts are ahead of the Texans for second place thanks to a 31-20 Week 2 win in Houston. Jacksonville won’t play another divisional opponent until the Tennessee Titans come to EverBank Stadium in Week 11.

Here’s how the rest of the NFL standings look after Week 6 and how the playoffs would stack up if they started today:

NFC North standings heading into Week 17

For one last time, here’s how the division looks before the final week of the NFL regular season.

It’s just about time to put a bow on the 2020 NFL regular season now that Week 17 has arrived. But there are still plenty of playoff spots still open and a draft order that needs to be finalized. Plus, we’ll get one final preview of the NFC North standings before they become finalized, which will impact the 2021 scheduling next spring.

For one last time, here’s how the division looks before the final week of the NFL regular season.

Predicting the NFC East standings after Week 4 of 2020 NFL season

The worst division in the NFL might take another hit this week, with three tough games and one matchup that could easily be lost by Dallas.

Through three weeks of the season, the NFC East is once again the worst division in the NFL, with a brutal 2-9-1 record. While both the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles were expected to be pretty good coming into this season, neither has lived up to expectations, and many are questioning who is going to step up and take the division lead, potentially holding onto it into the playoffs.

Going into Week 4, it may be another grim outlook for the four teams, with only the Dallas Cowboys having a seemingly winnable game. The Cowboys take on the Cleveland Browns, who have been mediocre so far this year, and I don’t think it would shock anyone to see Dallas struggle to put that one away. The Eagles then look to face the San Francisco 49ers, who have been impressive despite their massive amount of injuries so far. We already know that Washington will likely have a tough time with the Baltimore Ravens, and the New York Giants will travel cross country to take on the Los Angeles Rams.

So how do we see these results shaking out this week? Well…

Dallas Cowboys: Win
Washington Football Team: Loss
Philadelphia Eagles: Loss
New York Giants: Loss

If our predictions hold true, it won’t do much as far as division standings go, with the Cowboys simply inching ahead of Washington for the No. 1 spot. Washington would move into a solo second-place. Philly would remain in 3rd at 0-3-1, and NY would stay winless in last place.

A grim outlook for the NFC East? If you aren’t used to it by now, you’d better get there quickly. We’re in yet another year where it looks like the division could be won by the first person to get to seven wins.
