5-star Alabama commit visiting UGA after Crimson Tide’s embarrassing loss

Five-star cornerback recruit, Alabama football commit is visiting Georgia the week after Bama’s loss to Vandy

Five-star cornerback recruit Dijon Lee has been committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide since June 2024. However, Lee is keeping his options open and plans to visit the Georgia Bulldogs for the Mississippi State game on Oct. 12. His visit to Georgia comes the week after Alabama suffered an embarrassing loss to the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Lee originally committed to Alabama over Georgia, Washington, and Texas A&M. The five-star defensive back prospect is a member of the class of 2025.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound cornerback plays high school football for Mission Viejo High School in Mission, Viejo, California. Lee is ranked as the No. 24 recruit in the senior class and the fourth-ranked cornerback. He’s the top-ranked recruit in California in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Georgia has been among the best schools in the country in recruiting elite secondary talent, but so has Alabama. The Crimson Tide remain aggressive on the recruiting trail under first-year head coach Kalen DeBoer. In fact, Alabama currently has the second-best recruiting class in the country in the 2025 cycle.

Georgia has a strong pitch to defensive back prospects, but faces a challenge in convincing Dijon Lee to flip. Alabama already beat Georgia this season and has a lot of early playing time to offer to young defensive backs.

Kirby Smart and Georgia football currently have 22 total commitments in the class of 2025. Georgia has the No. 5 recruiting class in the country.

Five-star cornerback recruit Dijon Lee is projected to commit to the Alabama Crimson Tide over the Georgia Bulldogs and others, per 247Sports. Lee plans to announce his commitment on June 28.

The elite defensive back prospect recently cut down his top schools list to four college football programs. Lee’s top four schools are Georgia, Washington, Alabama and Texas A&M.

Lee is a member of the class of 2025 and has rare size for a player at his position. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound cornerback plays high school football for Mission Viejo High School in Mission, Viejo, California.

Lee has taken official visits this summer with each of his top four schools. The elite defensive back checked out Georgia on June 7, Washington on May 31, Texas A&M on June 14 and Alabama on June 21. Additionally, Lee has a visited with Texas on June 12.

Lee is ranked as the No. 22 recruit in the senior class and the fourth-ranked cornerback. He’s the top-ranked recruit in California in the class of 2025.

Georgia has done an elite job of recruiting top secondary talent in recent years, but so has Alabama. The Crimson Tide are showing no signs of slowing down in recruiting under head coach Kalen DeBoer. In fact, Alabama currently has the top recruiting class in the SEC for the 2025 recruiting cycle.

The Bulldogs had three defensive backs drafted in the 2024 NFL draft, so Georgia has a strong pitch to offer for defensive back recruits. Georgia signed the nation’s No. 1 class of 2024 and is working to bring in another elite recruiting class.

2025 5-star CB out of Mission Viejo (CA) recently visited Texas A&M

Texas A&M recently hosted one of the top ranked cornerback prospects in the 2025 recruiting class

Mike Elko’s recruiting prowess is more than equal to what former Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher brought to the table. The Aggies’ 2025 recruiting class has continued to rise in the rankings, recently landing its 14th commitment after four-star tight end Kiotti Armstrong announced his intentions on Friday night.

Elko’s dominance on the California recruiting trail has been even more impressive, as five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet and four-star cornerback Adonyss Currie, two of the top 3 ranked 2025 prospects in the state, committed to the program over several blue-blood competitors.

Texas A&M’s presence in the state has continued this summer. Four-star linebacker Noah Mikhail has the Aggies as a finalist before announcing his commitment at the end of the month, while five-star cornerback Dijon Lee is coming off his first official visit ahead of his June 28 commitment.

Multiple outlets have ranked Lee as a top-five cornerback prospect. This month, Lee revealed his final program list: Washington, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, and Texas A&M. With his A&M OV now in the books, Elko and his defensive staff did all they could to make an impression 13 days before his announcement.

Standing at 6-4 and 190 pounds, Lee is long, rangy, and instinctual. The elite cornerback prospect looks like a perfect fit in Elko and new defensive coordinator Jay Bateman’s system, possessing all the traits necessary to become a lockdown corner on the boundary.

According to 247Sports Composite, Lee is currently positioned as the 22nd-ranked prospect in the class, the 4th-ranked cornerback, and the No. 1-ranked prospect in California.

Gators land in top 8 for elite class of 2024 cornerback

Four-star West Coast cornerback Dijon Lee has narrowed his options down to eight colleges, and the University of Florida is one of them.

One of the nation’s top prep cornerbacks from the class of 2025 included the Florida Gators in his top eight on Friday when On3’s Hayes Fawcett announced his top schools with a graphic.

Mission Viejo cornerback [autotag]Dijon Lee[/autotag] named Florida, Arizona, Georgia, LSU, Oregon, Penn State, USC and Washington as the eight schools still standing in his recruitment. With Lee being from the West Coast, most view USC and Washington as the two biggest horses in the race, but he’s clearly keeping the door to the SEC open.

Florida offered Lee back in October, which means Corey Raymond was likely involved in his recruitment. Former Los Angeles Chargers assistant Will Harris has since been hired as Florida’s new secondary coach,

“I’m talking with Will Harris a lot and he’s a good guy and knows what he’s doing,” Lee said to 247Sports’ Greg Biggins. “It’s cool, he already giving me pointers and coaching me up like I’m already on the team. I know he’s a SoCal guy so I’m excited to visit and see how I fit in there.”

Although Lee hasn’t had the chance to visit The Swamp just yet, he plans to travel east at some point this year. The goal is to announce a commitment before his senior year, but official visits need to come and go first.

“I know four schools I will visit for sure are Washington, Georgia, Florida and Arizona,” he said. “I’m going to take a lot of unofficial visits to the other schools as well… The biggest thing for me is development and relationships.

“I want a school where I fit in well and have a good comfort level and then a place that can make me better and help me grow as a player.”

But he’s not the only big fish in the 2025 class Kelly is after.

The Tigers 2025 class is currently ranked as the No. 2 class in the country and LSU just made the final eight for a five-star cornerback.

[autotag]Dijon Lee[/autotag] is a 6-foot-3, 180-pound, five-star cornerback from Mission Viejo, California, where he plays for Mission Viejo High School. Top football recruit in California has Penn State among top schools

Penn State may be a longshot for this four-star CB in 2025, but they are among the top schools in the running.

With the Big Ten about to expand to the West Coast, Penn State would love to see some more recruiting success out west. It may still have some stiff competition on its hands for the top recruit in the state of California in the Class of 2025, but the Nittany Lions are officially in the running.

Dijon Lee, a four-star cornerback from California, has shared his top eight schools in his latest recruiting update, and Penn State is among the top eight schools in the mix. Other schools in Lee’s consideration include three incoming Big Ten members; Oregon, USC, and Washington. Lee is also considering offers from Arizona, Florida, Georgia, and LSU.

Lee is rated as a four-star prospect by each of the major recruiting outlets, including 247Sports and On3. On3 and ESPN each rank him as the top-rated recruit in California, but 247Sports rates him no. 5 in the state. The 247Sports composite rankings have Lee as a top-25 player overall nationally.

USC is likely the expected frontrunner for Lee’s commitment. While there are no crystal ball predictions for Lee posted on 247Sports at this time, the On3 recruiting prediction machine calculates USC to have a 93.9% chance of securing Lee’s commitment. Penn State is likely a longshot at this point, but it is still good to see Penn State make this latest top schools cut.

It is still early in the recruiting process for the Class of 2025 (the Class of 2024’s traditional signing period is still a few weeks away), but Penn State currently has the no. 5 recruiting class for 2025 according tot he latest team rankings from 247Sports.
