As the clock kept creeping closer to midnight on the east coast, football fans everywhere were holding their breath to see if the December Dallas Cowboys would show up on Thursday Night Football.
Turns out Dallas not only beat the Seattle Seahawks, 41-35, in the best Thursday tilt of the year by far, it got it all done before the calendar turned. There was never a doubt.
Especially not from former Cowboys great Dez Bryant, who was feeling extra confident in Dallas Cowboys before kickoff.
Like $10,000 worth of confidence.
The wideout claimed in a post that’s how much he wagered on the Cowboys to get the W.

The only question is whether or Bryant took the Cowboys against the spread as 9.5-favorites or on the moneyline at -360. If it was the former, he can kiss that 10K goodbye, but at least Dallas got the win.
The former Cowboy can see big things for the Commanders in 2023.
Dez Bryant burst onto the scene as a rookie with the Dallas Cowboys in 2010. The first-round pick played in 12 games and caught 45 passes and six touchdowns.
It didn’t take long for Bryant to establish himself as the Cowboys’ No. 1 wide receiver, and before injuries slowed his career, he was considered one of the best in the NFL.
Washington fans remember Bryant well. The former Cowboy played in 14 games against Washington, recording 67 receptions for 977 yards and 14 touchdowns. He last played for Dallas in 2017, and he last appeared in the NFL in 2020, when he played in six games for the Ravens.
These days, Bryant has business interests outside of football but actively follows the NFL on Twitter, offering his analysis on all 32 teams. On Friday, Bryant called the Pittsburgh Steelers his sleeper team for 2023.
A Steelers fan responded, saying he didn’t see Pittsburgh as a sleeper team because everyone could already see the Steelers were good.
Bryant responded.

While no one is predicting the Commanders to reach the Super Bowl, some are taking notice of second-year quarterback Sam Howell and new offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. If Howell becomes the quarterback Washington believes he can, paired with an outstanding defense, the Commanders have a chance to be good in 2023.
Patrick Surtain and Trevon Diggs ranked as two of the top corners in the NFL by Cowboys legend Dez Bryant
Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has always had a massive personality with no intentions of hiding it. He also might be a little of a Cowboys homer as he listed the top five cornerbacks in the NFL and the top two were both Cowboys corners.
Bryant currently views former Alabama CB [autotag]Trevon Diggs[/autotag] as the best in the game with his teammate Stephon Gilmore as a close second, like I said, no bias here. Diggs has been outstanding in terms of his ability to lock down elite receivers, but it is the special abilities he possesses as a playmaker that make him so important to the Cowboys’ defense.
Anyone who has followed the Crimson Tide knows how special Diggs has been dating back to his 99-yard scoop and score against Tennessee in 2019 that sealed the victory. However, it was his remarkable 2021 campaign with Dallas that really put him on the map as he led the NFL with an astounding 11 interceptions, two of which he returned for scores.
Bryant also includes Denver Broncos Patrick Surtain II on the list as the third-best CB in the league. If you removed Bryant’s Cowboys bias, I am sure that Surtain would be at the top of the list as he has pretty clearly established himself as the best corner in the game. Regardless, it is so cool to see two former Crimson Tide players ranked in Bryant’s top three especially when you consider the fact they spent two seasons together in Tuscaloosa.

Jalen Ramsey is still a member of the Los Angeles Rams but his future with the team is uncertain. The Rams have gotten calls about trading the All-Pro cornerback and they’re considering making a deal.
Ramsey can’t pick his next team, seeing as he’s not a free agent, but that hasn’t stopped current and former players from recruiting him. The latest? Former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant.
Bryant tweeted at Ramsey this week saying he “heard the next stop is the big D.” Dallas would make sense as a potential landing spot for Ramsey, but that doesn’t mean a deal will happen. Dez seems to love the idea of Ramsey trading in his horns for a star, though.

An interesting wrinkle in this is the fact that Ramsey said back in 2018 that he’ll “never play” for the Cowboys “unless the Joneses leave.” The Joneses, of course, are Jerry and Stephen Jones, who call the shots in Dallas.
Ramsey thought in 2016 that the Cowboys were going to take in him in the draft, being told that would be the case during his pre-draft visit with Dallas. But they opted to take Ezekiel Elliott instead and Ramsey went to the Jaguars one pick later.
If Ramsey still feels that way about the Cowboys, he’ll probably try to block any trade to Dallas – if Jones would even consider a deal.

More than just New England Patriots fans are voicing their frustrations over the officials overturning Hunter Henry’s touchdown reception in Thursday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
You can include former All-Pro receiver Dez Bryant’s name to that list.
The former Dallas Cowboy knows a thing or two about having a big-time catch overturned after having a similar experience in a divisional playoff game against the Green Bay Packers nearly eight years ago.
So it’s no surprise he was infuriated after seeing it happen again on Thanksgiving night in a game that could have huge playoff ramifications for the Patriots. He fired off a slew of Twitter posts, via PFF’s Doug Kyed, condemning the officials for overturning the catch that was originally ruled as a touchdown.
Henry could clearly be seen hauling in the pass and reaching the ball over the plane, but the officials argued he didn’t maintain control throughout the catch.
Maybe one day we’ll get to the point where the definition of a catch is universal and boiled down to its simplest form. But then again, I wouldn’t hold my breath considering it’s still a point of contention nearly a decade later.
Romeo Doubs’ catch didn’t “survive the ground.” Dez Bryant knows all about that.
Dez Bryant knows a little something about hauling in big catches at Lambeau Field. He’s also intimately familiar with the NFL’s “surviving the ground” rules that define what is and isn’t a catch.
Bryant was the center of a playoff controversy in 2014 when what could have been a go-ahead fourth-and-two touchdown reception with 4:46 to play n a Divisional Round game was instead ruled an incompletion despite looking, well, a hell of a lot like a catch. Instead, the Packers got a boost from the league’s eternal struggle to determine what is and is not a catch and marched toward their typical postseason disappointment in the NFC title game days afterward.
Six-plus years later, Green Bay was the backdrop for another controversial non-catch when Romeo Doubs hauled in an Aaron Rodgers rainbow but couldn’t control it to the ground:
Bryant was watching — and he knew how familiar the whole thing felt.

Pretty similar! Doubs’ drop forced Sunday’s game between the Patriots and Packers — a game in which Green Bay was a 9.5-point favorite against New England’s third-string quarterback — to overtime. While the ruling won’t have nearly the same impact it did on Bryant years ago, it still looks pretty damaging for the Packers in Week 4.
Any time the Giants and Cowboys (+1.5) play, it’s naturally going to have more eyeballs and more attention on it than the average game. Monday night was no different. Before New and Dallas squared off during Monday Night Football in Week 3, an old friend of the Cowboys made an appearance during pre-game festivities.
Dez Bryant, who made three Pro Bowls and an All-Pro team in eight seasons with the Cowboys, showed up in a pre-game interview while wearing a cowboy hat and sunglasses. And before the broadcast cut back to the usual studio analysis, Bryant had a hilarious way to insult the Giants as he harkened back to his Cowboys days:

Cowboys fans will no doubt get an eyeful of CeeDee Lamb during Sunday night’s game, when the wide receiver is expected to be an integral part of the team’s 2022 season opener against Tampa Bay in a primetime matchup.
But those who pay close attention during the commercial breaks will also see Lamb take part in a cool bit of franchise history.
Lamb will star alongside former Cowboys receivers Drew Pearson, Michael Irvin, and Dez Bryant in a new ad for Chipotle. For the fast casual chain, it marks the launch of some new menu items. For fans of America’s Team, it commemorates the first time all four members of the Cowboys’ vaunted “88 Club” met in person.
In the :30 spot debuting during Sunday Night Football, the quartet of pass-catchers talk about the significance of wearing the iconic No. 88 jersey in Dallas, which they all sported for their respective playing careers. Lamb even alludes to the short time immediately following his selection by the Cowboys- in the first round of 2020’s draft- when he announced he wanted to wear No. 10.
In the end, team owner Jerry Jones successfully lobbied Lamb to wear the famed 88 to honor an old college friend, but also to carry on the number’s larger-than-life tradition in Dallas.
The “88 Club” ad (and the behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot) is a fun chance to see the four Cowboys greats chop it up, but Chipotle is hoping it will also lure fans into its more than 3,000 restaurants. “The 88 Club” Menu is already up and running at the Mexican chain and includes the favorite go-to orders of Lamb, Pearson, Irvin, and Bryant.
The CeeDee Lamb Bowl, for example, is white rice, half-chicken, half-steak, fresh tomato salsa, extra cheese, and queso blanco. The Drew Pearson Tacos are three soft flour tortillas filled with steak, romaine lettuce, and cheese. The Michael Irvin Bowl features brown rice and black beans among its ingredients with guacamole on the side; the Dez Bryant Bowl is a chicken bowl with white rice and other toppings.
The personalized menu items are set to be offered for just a limited time, but the members of The 88 Club seem intent on doing more as a foursome, even beyond burritos.
Former Cowboys WR Dez Bryant was impressed with what he saw out of Falcons QB Desmond Ridder on Friday night.
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder put on a quality performance against the Lions in his preseason debut. Ridder ended the game with 103 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score to give the Falcons the lead late in the fourth quarter.
Not only did Ridder impress fans in Atlanta, he also caught the eye of Dez Bryant. The former Cowboys and Ravens wide receiver took to Twitter during the game to praise Ridder’s performance.

While he was complimenting Ridder, Bryant also noted that he doesn’t believe the Falcons trust starter Marcus Mariota due to the team selecting a quarterback in the third round. Bryant also noted that he feels Ridder can read the field better than Mariota and won’t fold in high-pressure moments.
Time will tell if Bryant’s claims are true, but for now, fans are excited about the possibilities of Atlanta’s third-round pick.
