First look: Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions Week 13 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Minnesota Vikings (5-6) visit the winless Detroit Lions (0-10-1) Sunday for an NFC North showdown at Ford Field in Week 13. Kickoff is scheduled for a 1 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Vikings vs. Lions odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

Minnesota had a two-game win streak and three-game ATS cover streak snapped with a 34-26 loss at the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12.

The Vikings failed to cover the spread as 4-point underdogs. They surrendered 423 total yards, including 208 on the ground. It was tied 14-14 at halftime before the 49ers scored the first two touchdowns of the third quarter. The second score was aided by a QB Kirk Cousins interception returned 24 yards to the Minnesota 2-yard line.

Detroit lost to the Chicago Bears 16-14 Thanksgiving Day but covered as a 2.5-point home underdog for its third cover in a row. The Lions led 14-13 late in the third quarter after QB Jared Goff hit TE T.J. Hockenson for a 17-yard touchdown pass. But the Bears produced an 18-play, 69-yard drive in the final 8:30 and kicked a game-winning, 28-yard field goal as time expired.

RB D’Andre Swift, who leads the Lions in rushing yards (555) and rushing TDs (4), exited in the second quarter with a shoulder injury and is considered day-to-day.

First look: Detroit Lions at Cleveland Browns odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Detroit Lions at Cleveland Browns Week 11 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Detroit Lions (0-8-1) will visit the Cleveland Browns (5-5) in Week 11, still searching for their first win of the season. Kickoff from FirstEnergy Stadium for this cross-conference matchup is set for 1 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Lions vs. Browns odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

The Lions tied the Pittsburgh Steelers 16-16 Sunday a sloppy and unexciting game. It was the first outing the Lions didn’t lose this season, however, they’re still the only team without a win. It was just the fifth time the Lions topped 300 total yards and their 387 yards allowed were their third-most this season.

The Browns have sputtered after a strong start, dealing with injuries and inconsistency on offense. They were blown out 45-7 by the New England Patriots Sunday gaining a season-low 217 yards on offense. In their last seven games, they’ve scored fewer than 20 points five times and more than 40 twice. It was a disappointing result after blowing out the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 9, although not having Nick Chubb against New England didn’t help.

First look: Philadelphia Eagles at Detroit Lions odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Philadelphia Eagles at Detroit Lions Week 8 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Detroit Lions (0-7) host the Philadelphia Eagles (2-5) Sunday for their Week 8 showdown at Ford Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Eagles vs. Lions odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

Philly took a 33-22 beating by the Las Vegas Raiders as a 1-point road underdog in Week 7. The game was more lopsided than the final score indicates as 15 of Philly’s 22 points were scored in the fourth quarter.

The Raiders had more time of possession (32:31-27:29), gained more first downs (23-22) and had substantially more yards per play (7.0-5.3) than the Eagles.

Detroit squandered a double-digit first-half lead in its 28-19 loss at the Los Angeles Rams Sunday, but the Lions did cover as massive 17-point road underdogs.

The Lions had the ball for 32:40 with slightly more yards per play than the Rams (6.2-6.1). However, Detroit gave up more than double the penalty yardage than Philly and was minus-two in turnover differential.

First look: Cincinnati Bengals at Detroit Lions odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Cincinnati Bengals at Detroit Lions Week 6 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Cincinnati Bengals (3-2) visit the winless Detroit Lions (0-5) Sunday in Week 6 for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Ford Field. Below, we look at the Bengals vs. Lions odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

Cincinnati lost in overtime 25-22 to the visiting Green Bay Packers in Week 5. The Bengals, who were 2-point underdogs, rallied with a TD and game-tying, 2-point conversion with 3:27 to go. They later had a chance to take the lead, but PK Evan McPherson missed a 57-yard field goal with 26 seconds remaining. He also missed a 49-yard attempt that would have won the game in OT with 4:19 to go. The Packers added to the drama by missing three field-goal attempts down the stretch, one with 2:14 left in regulation and two that would have won it – one at the end of regulation and one in overtime.

Meanwhile, Cincy QB Joe Burrow (281 passing yards, 2 TDs) was taken to a hospital after the game to be evaluated for a possible throat contusion.

Detroit suffered a heartbreaking 19-17 loss at the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5. The Lions were on the verge of their first W of 2021 when they “went for the win” and converted a 2-point conversion for a 17-16 lead with 37 seconds remaining. But the Vikings moved the ball from their 18-yard line to the Lions’ 36 on three passes and kicked a game-winning, 54-yard field goal as time expired. At least Detroit covered as 10-point underdogs.
