Notre Dame quarterback commit Deuce Knight pleads his case for Derek Meadows

Hopefully this helps in the Irish’s pursuit with Meadows

One of the biggest remaining uncommitted prospects for Notre Dame football is Nevada wide receiver [autotag]Derek Meadows[/autotag].

The 6-foot, 5-inch and 200-pound pass catcher has announced his finalists and will make his commitment on July 13th. Not only does the Irish coaching staff want the nation’s No. 68 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings to join, so does quarterback commit [autotag]Deuce Knight[/autotag].

In a social media post, the Mississippi native made his pitch to Meadows to join him in South Bend. It’s not uncommon for committed recruits to talk with each other, but what is different is going to X to make his case.

Their paths have crossed at various camps and events, so the relationship is there. Hopefully the pull of playing with Knight sways Meadows to commit to the Irish.

5-star WR Derek Meadows names top 5, sets commitment date

Five-star Notre Dame, Georgia recruiting target has set his commitment date

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the top schools for five-star wide receiver recruit Derek Meadows. Meadows plays football for Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound wide receiver plans to announce his commitment on July 13 at 3 p.m. ET.

Derek Meadows’ top schools are Georgia, Notre Dame, Alabama, Michigan and LSU. Meadows is projected to commit to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, per 247Sports.

The lengthy wide receiver is the No. 32 recruit in the class of 2025. Meadows is the No. 6 player at his position and the top-ranked recruit in Nevada. Georgia has gained some huge recruiting wins in Nevada recently, including when the Dawgs signed five-star tight end Darnell Washington.

Meadows received an invitation to play in the 2025 All-American Bowl. Georgia offered a scholarship to the elite wide receiver in January 2024.

The Bishop Gorman standout announced his commitment time via social media. Here’s a look at his recent official visit to Georgia.

Georgia has the second-ranked recruiting class in the SEC right now and has 19 commitments.

Notre Dame football WR target Derek Meadows sets commitment date

The Irish will know soon if the elite prospect will join the 2025 class

Notre Dame football will soon find out if they will get commitment No. 22 of its 2025 recruiting class.

Nevada wide receiver [autotag]Derek Meadows[/autotag] has set his announcement date for July 13th, and will have five hats on the table. The teams the 6-foot, 5-inch and 200-pounder will choose from are Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan and the Irish.

The nation’s No. 67 overall player according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings has officially visited each of his finalist. Notre Dame should be seen as the favorite at the moment, as they are the only team to have a 247Sports Crystal Ball pick in its favor.

That choice was made in January, so obviously things could have changed for Meadows since then. The commitment will be live on 247Sports YouTube page.

5-star WR schedules official visit to Georgia

Elite 2025 wide receiver Derek Meadows has set an official visit to Georgia…

Five-star wide receiver Derek Meadows, one of the top players at his position in the country, has scheduled an official visit to Georgia this summer. The Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) product earned a scholarship offer from the Bulldogs in February.

Meadows has set his visit to Athens for June 7. He will also visit Michigan (May 31), Notre Dame (June 14), LSU (June 18) and Alabama (June 21), per 247Sports’ Tom Loy.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound wideout is rated as the No. 1 player in Nevada, the No. 6 wide receiver and the No. 32 player in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports rankings.

Meadows doesn’t just stand out on the gridiron. He earned Nevada 2023 Gatorade Track and Field Player of the Year as a sophomore for Bishop Gorman.

Rivals, On3 and 247Sports project Meadows to commit to Notre Dame, but never count out Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs. New wide receivers coach James Coley recently added four-star wideout Thomas Blackshear to UGA’s 2025 class.

2025 5-star WR from powerhouse high school sets Michigan football visit

He has a former teammate on the Wolverines. #GoBlue

It’s been seven years since Michigan football managed to secure a five-star wide receiver.

The Wolverines have had solid receivers in recent years, from three-star Ronnie Bell to four-stars Roman Wilson and Cornelius Johnson. But before them came the trio of four-stars Nico Collins and Tarik Black and five-star Donovan Peoples-Jones — all 2017 commits.

Now the maize and blue are hoping to add another elite receiver to the mix.

Hailing from Las Vegas (Nv.) Bishop Gorman, Derek Meadows was recently upgraded to five-star status on 247Sports at No. 32 overall, regardless of position. Per 247’s Tom Loy, Meadows will make it to Ann Arbor for an official visit next week, on May 31, to see what Michigan has to offer.

While he’s not on campus yet, Michigan may have an inside ace up its sleeve with Meadows’ teammate, running back Micah Ka’apana, being a signee who is soon to make it for summer conditioning.

The scouting report from 247Sports’ Greg Biggins:

Meadows is a jumbo receiver and one of the more intriguing players in the ’25 class. He has a rare combination of size, athleticism and body control and is only scratching the surface of how good we think he can be. At 6-6, 200 pounds and an 80” wingspan, he’s a matchup nightmare for smaller defensive backs and should be an immediate red zone threat. He can run as well and is one of the region’s top track athletes although a hamstring injury has limited him this Spring. He was the Gatorade Track and Field Athlete of the Year as a sophomore and is one of the region’s top hurdlers. He has a big frame and it wouldn’t shock us if he eventually grows in to a pass catching tight end who would be lethal working against linebackers and safeties down the middle of the field. Saying that, he has a receiver skill set and we’ve seen him dominate on the 7v7 circuit with his length, jump ball skills and ability to catch the ball through contact. His upside is extremely high and with continued development, there’s no question he has the potential to play on Sunday’s for a very long time.

Of course, Georgia, LSU, and Alabama loom large, but Notre Dame appears to be the team to beat for Meadows. Loy has his 247Sports Crystal Ball placed on the Irish.

Notre Dame in Top Five for Five-Star Wide Receiver

This would be a huge get for the Irish. Both figuratively and literally.

Notre Dame football has had an uptick in recruiting the wide receiver position recently but still has room to grow. That’s what the Fighting Irish are looking to do with one of the few remaining spots in their top-ranked 2025 recruiting class.

The good news for the Fighting Irish and wide receivers coach Mike Brown is that Notre Dame is in the running for one of the nation’s very best in the 2025 recruiting class.

[autotag]Derek Meadows[/autotag], who 247Sports recently rated as a five-star wideout, has Notre Dame in his final top-five and is set to make an official summer visit this June.  Meadows has previously participated in Notre Dame’s Irish Invasion camp last June.

Notre Dame has a seat at the table but will have to outwork several bluebloods as Michigan, Georgia, LSU, and Alabama are also set to host Meadows this summer.

Meadows is listed at 6-5, 200-pounds and hails from national powerhouse Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas.  He helped lead Gorman to their latest national championship in 2023, hauling in 15 receptions as a sophomore.  Over half of those went for a touchdown as he scored eight last fall and averaged over 26-yards per reception.

Whoever ends up with Meadows will have an elite talent that will instantly upgrade even the best of wide receiver groups.

Tennessee offers 2025 wide receiver Derek Meadows

Tennessee offers 2025 wide receiver Derek Meadows.

Tennessee offered a scholarship to 2025 wide receiver prospect Derek Meadows.

“I am truly blessed and honored to receive an offer from the University of Tennessee,” Meadows said.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound four-star wide receiver prospect is from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Meadows is the No. 144 overall prospect in the class of 2025. He ranks as the No. 19 wide receiver prospect and No. 3 player in Nevada, according to 247Sports.

Meadows has scholarship offers from Tennessee, BYU, Colorado State, Hawaii, UNLV, Nevada, Utah, Notre Dame, Maryland, Michigan State, Iowa State, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Michigan, Arizona, California, Washington, Oregon, LSU and Auburn.

UGA football offers 4-star WR Derek Meadows

Four-star wide receiver prospect Derek Meadows is one of the top recruits in Nevada

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nevada) wide receiver recruit Derek Meadows. The 6-foot-5, 185-pound wide receiver is ranked as a four-star prospect.

Derek Meadows is currently projected to commit to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, per 247Sports. The lengthy wide receiver is ranked as the No. 144 recruit in the class of 2025. Meadows is the No. 19 player at his position and the third-ranked recruit in Nevada.

The four-star wide receiver has recent scholarship offers from Washington, California, Arizona, and Oregon. Meadows is a hot name on the recruiting trail. He also received an invitation to play in the 2025 All-American Bowl.

The Bishop Gorman standout announced his scholarship offer from the University of Georgia via social media:

Derek Meadowns is a name to watch in the class of 2025. With all the recent interest in him, we would not be surprised if he ends up going in another direction outside of Notre Dame.

Notre Dame football trending for top 2025 wide receiver

Notre Dame football could be on the verge of adding its first wide receiver of the 2025 class, Bishop Gorman’s Derek Meadows.

At this point, Notre Dame football can be very patient with 2025 prospects, picking and choosing who they want to add.

This is due to the fast start the Irish have had, already holding 14 commits, over half of the class. One of those prospects they’d love to add is Bishop Gorman wide receiver [autotag]Derek Meadows[/autotag].

The 6-foot, 5-inch and 185-pound pass catcher is one of the best in the country, rankings as the No. 19 prospect at his position and 144th overall according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. After Tom Loy of 247Sports put a crystal ball for the Irish to land Meadows, it’s looking like Notre Dame has found another top prospect to add to its class.

Although Notre Dame has so many commits, not one is currently a wide receiver. If Loy is correct, Meadows would be a great addition to the class.

Notre Dame predicted to land 2025 Las Vegas wide receiver

The Irish made a very big impression

It was just a few days ago that Las Vegas, Nevada wide receiver [autotag]Derek Meadows[/autotag] was offered by Notre Dame.

That offer to the Bishop Gorman star looks like it held a lot of weight as On3’s Mike Singer has already logged a prediction for the Irish to land the talented receiver.

Meadows is an imposing figure, standing 6-foot, 5-inch and weighing 185 pounds, who would be an immediate red zone threat for the Irish offense. Although it is still very early in the process for him, his recent camp visit to [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] has accelerated his thought process even though a commitment might not be on the horizon.

Meadowns currently doesn’t hold offers from a large contingent of top schools, but with the Irish in on him early, it could play big dividends later.
