Kemah Siverand tweets apology after being cut by Seahawks over hotel incident

Former Seattle Seahawks defensive back Kemah Siverand tweeted an apology after he was cut from the team last week for violating the rules.

Kemah Siverand has finally spoken out after he was released by the Seattle Seahawks nearly two weeks ago for reportedly attempting to sneak a woman into the team hotel, dressed in team apparel.

The undrafted rookie cornerback tweeted an apology on Monday, which reads in part:

“After taking time to reflect and really consider the seriousness of my actions, I have tried to find the appropriate words to apologize to all of those affected by my poor decision and immaturity. I’ve privately apologized to Coach [Pete] Carroll, [general manager] John Schneider, and the Seahawks organization. I violated team rules, which would have been unacceptable in normal times, but absolutely inexcusable now during a pandemic. I understand my lapse in judgment put my teammates and the organization at risk, thankfully no one else was affected by my actions.”

Siverand said he plans to continue training and hopes to someday realize his dream of playing in the NFL.

2020 Gators Football Recruiting Profile: Fenley Graham

This is a prospect player profile for cornerback Fenley Graham of the Florida Gators football recruiting class of 2020.

Name: Fenley Graham

Position: Cornerback

Height: 5’8.5″

Weight: 171 lbs

Hometown: Lakeland, Fla.

High School: Lakeland High School

Twitter: @FenleyG11

247Sports Composite: ⭐⭐⭐

Rivals.com: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Overview:

Fenley Graham is a three-star recruit from Lakeland High School, according to the 247Sports Composite. The No. 474 player nationally and the No. 34 cornerback, Graham received an offer from the Gators in December of 2018 before he eventually committed the following June. He also had offers from Miami, West Virginia and more.

He signed with Florida during the early signing period in December, and he enrolled on campus on July 2.

Though he’s undersized for a corner at 5-foot-8.5, he makes up for it with tremendous athleticism and solid ball skills. His speed makes him a threat to return an interception to the house, and he could even see some time as a kick returner in Gainesville.

Graham finds himself a bit overshadowed as the fifth-highest rated corner in coach Dan Mullen’s 2020 recruiting class, but his athleticism should help him see the field in some capacity sooner rather than later.

2020 Gators Football Recruiting Profile: Mordecai McDaniel

This is a prospect player profile for safety Mordecai McDaniel of the Florida Gators football recruiting class of 2020.

Name: Mordecai McDaniel

Position: Safety

Height: 6’1″

Weight: 195 lbs

Hometown: Washington, D.C.

High School: St. John’s College High School

Twitter: @HunnitBandCai

247Sports Composite: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rivals.com: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Overview:

A four-star product of St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C., which was established in 1851, McDaniel originally committed to a different Southeastern Conference (SEC) East Division program, Jeremy Pruitt’s Tennessee Volunteers.

Courted by defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach Derrick Ansley and defensive line coach Tracy Rocker, he pledged to the Knoxville-based outfit on August 21, 2019. Slightly less than four months later, on December 13, he flipped to the Gators, thanks, in large part, to the efforts of cornerbacks coach Torrian Gray and safeties coach Ron English.

Signing his National Letter of Intent (LOI) just five days after flipping, McDaniel’s speed jumps off the screen while watching his film. Also a member of the track and field team during his days as a St. John’s Cadet in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC), he won the District of Columbia State Athletic Association (DCSAA) 55-meter dash with a blazing time of 6.54 seconds.

McDaniel played both cornerback and safety during his prep career, and is listed as a cornerback on 247Sports, but many around Florida’s program project him to focus on the safety position in Gainesville.

With Shawn Davis and Brad Stewart, both seniors, projected to start at the safety positions for defensive coordinator Todd Grantham in 2020 and two more seniors, Quincy Lenton and Donovan Stiner, listed on the two-deep depth chart, there appears to be a path to significant playing time for McDaniel beginning in 2021.

As a true freshman, it is likely we will see him contribute on special teams.

Overall, McDaniel is the thirteenth-highest rated of the Gators’ 21 enrollees in the 2020 cycle and the ninth-highest on the defensive side of the football.

Florida Gators add five-star CB Jason Marshall to 2021 football class

Marshall, who the Gators have been courting since his sophomore year in 2018, was the program’s top target in the upcoming class.

While the news regarding the 2020 college football season has been bleak in recent days, the Florida Gators made an impactful splash on August 9, adding five-star Miami cornerback Jason Marshall to their 2021 class.

Marshall, who the Gators have been courting since his sophomore year in 2018, was the program’s top target in the upcoming class.

Originally offering the in-state standout, who the 247Sports Composite ranks as the No. 2 player at his position in the cycle, on October 16, 2018, he took an unofficial visit to Gainesville on June 13, 2019, and returned to campus on March 7 for one of the program’s Junior Days.

As of earlier this month, it looked like Manny Diaz’ Miami Hurricanes were leading the race to land Marshall’s services, picking up Crystal Ball predictions from Blake Alderman and Andrew Ivins on August 1.

In fact, Miami held five of his six Crystal Balls (83-percent), with Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide possessing the other one. It appeared as if Dan Mullen’s Florida program was on the fringes of Marshall’s recruitment.

“They really just kept it real with me since they offered me my sophomore year, and since then, I grew relationships with coach Mullen, coach (Brian) Johnson, and coach (Torrian) Gray,” Marshall told Alderman, who is the program’s lead writer for 247Sports.

“It’s possible I can come in and have early playing time. I think I can fit their defense because of the techniques they play and the style of defense.”

The lone five-star among the Gators’ 24 current commits, Marshall is the highest-rated pledge in the class.

Joining Fort Lauderdale defensive end Tyreak Sapp, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College outside linebacker Diwun Black, and Carrollton, Georgia’s Chief Borders, all four-stars, defensive coordinator Todd Grantham has stocked the cupboard full at all three levels moving forward.

2020 Gators Football Recruiting Profile: Tre’Vez Johnson

This is a prospect player profile for safety Tre’Vez Johnson of the Florida Gators football recruiting class of 2020.

Name: Tre’Vez Johnson

Position: Safety

Height: 5’11”

Weight: 175 lbs

Hometown: Jacksonville, Fla.

High School: Bartram Trail High School

Twitter: @tjohnson__22

247Sports Composite: ⭐⭐⭐

Rivals.com: ⭐⭐⭐

Overview:

Tre’Vez Johnson is a three-star recruit from Jacksonville who attended Bartram Trail High School. Rated as the No. 41 safety in the 2020 class according to the 247Sports Composite, he committed to Florida in June 2019 over offers from schools like Boston College, North Carolina and Appalachian State. He signed on Dec. 18 and enrolled this past June.

The 5-foot-11-inch, 175-pound defensive back most played as an outside corner at Bartram Trail, but due to his being slightly undersized for an outside corner, he will likely play at the STAR nickel corner position.

Johnson has great physicality and speed. He’s aggressive when making plays on the ball in coverage and with a 4.50 verified 40-yard dash time, he has the speed to keep up with most receivers in the secondary.

Though he finds himself a bit buried in the defensive backfield starting off, Johnson could see playing time sooner rather than later on a unit looking for new playmakers.

Four-star DB Kamar Wilcoxson reclassifies, joins 2020 class

Courted by Todd Grantham and Torrian Gray, Wilcoxson’s recruitment was one of the most eventful in recent Gators history.

The Florida Gators’ 2020 class already ranked No. 9 nationally, per the 247Sports Composite, but this collection of prospects became even stronger on Monday with four-star cornerback Kamar Wilcoxson’s decision to forgo his senior year of high school football and join the cycle.

Wilcoxson hinted at the choice to reclassify on his Twitter account, @KamarWilcoxson4.

While listed as a safety by the major recruiting services, many around the program project Wilcoxson to play cornerback in Gainesville. He spent his first three prep seasons at Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain, Georgia and had planned to play his senior campaign at Bradenton’s IMG Academy, one of America’s premier talent-producing programs.

Courted by defensive coordinator Todd Grantham and position coach Torrian Gray, Wilcoxson’s recruitment was one of the most eventful in recent Gators history.

He initially committed to Florida on November 3, 2018 but backed off that pledge on April 27, 2019. One year to the day of his decommitment, April 27, 2020, he verbally agreed to play for Jeremy Pruitt’s Tennessee Volunteers.

His allegiance to Knoxville was short-lived, however, as on June 19, he flipped back to the Gators.

Wilcoxson was rated as the eighth-highest of Florida’s 23 current commits in the 2021 cycle, now, he slots in eleventh of the program’s 22 enrollees in the 2020 class.

He is expected to officially enroll and arrive on-campus later in August.

Position: Cornerback

Height: 6’2″

Weight: 170 lbs

Hometown: Missouri City, Tex.

High School: Fort Bend Marshall High School

Twitter: @FMB_Helm

247Sports Composite: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rivals.com: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Overview:

Helm is a four-star recruit and the No. 24 cornerback in the 2020 recruiting class. He initially committed to the Gators in April 2019 and held firm on his pledge through his senior year, signing with coach Dan Mullen and Florida in December. He enrolled on campus in June.

The Missouri City, Tex., prospect also had offers from SEC foes Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Georgia.

He is a lengthy outside corner whose 6-foot-2 frame contributes to solid ball skills. His game relies heavily on physical man coverage, and though he has strong cover skills, he can also make open-field tackles and was a major contributor in run stopping at Fort Bend Marshall High School.

Helm is the third-highest ranked corner in UF’s loaded 2020 class, but he’s the tallest in the class, and with the team’s youth in the secondary, he could find the field as a true freshman this season.
