MSU football TE target commits to Washington, TE board set for full reset

MSU’s top target at TE has chosen Washington:

While Michigan State has seemingly had a very strong month recruiting, one position group has not fared the best. MSU has yet to secure a tight end for their 2024 recruiting class, and another name has fallen off the board.

Decker DeGraaf has committed to Washington, joining Eric Karner, who committed to Texas A&M, as the two TE prospects who officially visited this month but did not commit.

Look for Michigan State tight ends coach Ted Gilmore to totally reset the tight end recruiting board heading into the fall.

LOOK: TE Decker DeGraaf riding in style on MSU football official visit

Decker DeGraaf is riding in style on his MSU official visit:

As we saw earlier this week from 4-star linebacker Kris Jones, Mel Tucker has recruits riding in style, showing them East Lansing in a very cool way. Tucker has been seen having one-on-one time with recruits riding in a ‘Slingshot’, a three wheeled convertible vehicle. The latest recruit to receive this special treatment is tight end Decker DeGraaf, who is the lone recruit on an official visit this weekend.

Look at the cool video here:

3-star TE arrives to campus, star of weekend for Michigan State football

Decker DeGraaf is set to be the star of the show in East Lansing this weekend:

Decker DeGraaf is set to officially visit Michigan State this weekend. The 3-star tight end from Glendora, California, is the Spartans lone visitor this weekend and is set to be the center of the coaching staff’s attention.

Michigan State is in a hotly contested recruitment alongside Arkansas, Utah and Washington, to get DeGraaf’s talents. He is arguably the top tight end on tight end coach Ted Gilmore’s recruiting board, making this weekend very important, despite him being the only visitor.

SpartansWire will update you if any surprise visitors show up this weekend.

How did recruits react on social media to their time spent with the Oklahoma Sooners?

The Oklahoma Sooners hosted a number of prospects across the next few recruiting cycles. This week’s recruiting events have already yielded a commitment with the pledge from Jeremiah Newcombe to the Sooners 2024 class.

These weekends are about furthering recruiting pitches for prospects the Sooners have been recruiting for some time. Additionally, the recruiting events help build relationships with prospects they’re just beginning to recruit as well.

While much of the focus was on the 2024 and 2025 classes, the Sooners looked deep into the future and welcomed 2026 and 2027 prospects as well.

As we do after each of these major recruiting weekends, here’s a look at what some of the prospects had to say after their time in Norman.
