This weekend, the Florida football program hosts a handful of prep recruits as the Orange and Blue game next Thursday quickly approaches. Among those making a stop to visit Billy Napier and his staff is four-star defensive lineman Dealyn Evans out of Longview (Texas) Pine Tree, according to Swamp247’s Blake Alderman.
“I am going on Friday,” Evans divulged. “I am going to be there Friday, Saturday, and then Sunday. That will be my first time ever there. I want to get out there and see a practice, see the city, and just see how they operate.”
The 6-foot-4-inch, 260-pound lineman’s recruitment has been spearheaded by both defensive line coach Sean Spencer and recruiting staffer Joe Hamilton.
“Coach Spencer was the coach who offered me, but Coach [Joe] Hamilton kind of led it all off and got it all started,” he told Swamp247. “Me and Coach Spencer have talked a little bit since the offer, but nothing crazy. He just basically has been saying how he wants to get me down there for a visit. He said he will talk to me more in person.”
The coveted defensive lineman has already made a few school visits back in January and most recently met up with the LSU Tigers in March. The other schools he says he is also keeping tabs on are the TCU Horned Toads, Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Oregon Ducks.
Evans is ranked No. 155 overall and No. 21 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 125 and 16, respectively. The Texas A&M Aggies hold 247Sports’ lone crystal ball prediction and are also the overwhelming favorite in On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, earning a 97.9% chance of signing him, while the Texas Longhorns sit alone in second at 1.9%.
