Recently reclassified 2024 QB planning unofficial to Florida

After picking up an offer from the Gators in June, South Florida quarterback recruit Davi Belfort back is set to return to the Swamp for another meeting with the staff.

When [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] offered quarterback [autotag]Davi Belfort[/autotag] a scholarship to play for the Florida Gators, he was a member of the class of 2025 and set to attend Dillard High in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Since that June 13 camp in Gainesville, Belfort has transferred to Gulliver Prep in Miami and reclassified to the class of 2024. That moves his recruiting timeline up by a full year and the first trip he’s making following the end of the July dead period is to the University of Florida.

Blake Alderman of 247Sports reported that Belfort was planning his second trip to the Swamp for Tuesday, July 25, and the South Florida quarterback confirmed things on Twitter later on in the day. Getting him on campus right now is important because there are only a handful of days left before the season starts that recruits can make contact. The dead period ended on Monday but starts back at the beginning of August.

If Belfort wasn’t able to make it to Friday Night Lights or the recruiting cookout over the weekend, it’s smart to get him on campus now. Once the season starts, scheduling gets complicated and coaches are busier preparing for gamedays.

The last time Belfort made it to Gainesville, his father, MMA legend Vitor Belfort, accompanied him and hit it off with Billy Napier. The head coach invited them back and said to bring the rest of the family, which is in step with Napier’s more personal style of recruiting.

It’s unknown just who will be accompanying Belfort on the trip, but the rising junior did say he wants to attend the same school as his sister and plans on narrowing things down to a top 10 before the start of the season.

Belfort isn’t ranked yet by any of the major services, but he’s sure to be one of the top signal callers in the state of Florida. Gators fans will be following him closely over the next year or so.

Florida quarterback target reclassifies to 2024 class

Keep an eye on South Florida quarterback Davi Belfort. After picking up an offer from the Gators in June, the blue-chip recruit is reclassifying to the class of 2024.

Billy Napier and the Florida Gators offered [autotag]Davi Belfort[/autotag], an in-state quarterback out of the class of 2025, in June following an impressive camp performance. At the time, Belfort was the lone rising sophomore to pick up an offer from the orange and blue despite the team not having a signal caller committed for either of the two preceding classes.

A lot has changed since then, though. For starters, Napier flipped [autotag]Marcus Stokes[/autotag] from Penn State to secure a quarterback for the class of 2023. Belfort has also moved schools (again) and reclassified to the class of 2024, which moves up his recruitment by a full calendar year.

ā€œThe ā€™24 class is the one Iā€™m supposed to be in so Iā€™m excited to compete with the other guys in my class,” Belfort said to 247Sports. “Itā€™s going to speed up the recruiting process for me but Iā€™ve already had some really good talks with a lot of the college coaches recruiting me and theyā€™re excited about the moveĀ for me as well.ā€

After playing his freshman year at Cardinal Newman in Palm Beach County, Belfort transferred to Dillard in Fort Lauderdale. It didn’t take long for him to move to Gulliver Prep in Miami, and that’s likely where he’ll finish his high school career. Four-star wide receiver Jalen Brown just recently committed to LSU out of Gulliver, so it’s a school with the right discoverability for Belfort.

Speaking of discoverability, Belfort’s name might be one of the reasons he’s received so much hype early on. His father is MMA legend Vitor Belfort, and that’s bound to draw some attention to him. But he’ll have to build on a season where he completed 59% of his passes for 2,016 yards and 22 touchdowns (seven interceptions).

The goal is to cut his list down to 10 schools before his now junior year begins. Florida was among a handful of schools named by the recruit but visits over the fall could help him narrow things down.

Penn State recruiting target reclassifying to Class of 2024

A key Penn State QB recruiting target is moving his recruiting process up by a full year

One of Penn State’s top recruiting targets in the Class of 2025 is moving up his recruiting process by a full recruiting cycle. Quarterback Davi Belfort has made the decision to reclassify for the Class of 2024 and is already putting in the work academically to make that possible.

The Fort Lauderdale recruiting target told 247Sports he is making the move because he feels he is ready for the challenge of competing against other Class of 2024 quarterbacks.

ā€œI felt I was ready from a football standpoint and an academic standpoint and I wanted to push myself, thatā€™s how I [was] raised,” Belfort explained in a report from 247Sports. “Itā€™s going to speed up the recruiting process for me but Iā€™ve already had some really good talks with a lot of the college coaches recruiting me and theyā€™re excited about the moveĀ for me as well.ā€

As he moves up his recruiting class, Belfort also says he hopes to whittle down his list of top schools to 10 before the start of his high school football season. Belfort mentioned Penn State as one of the schools he has been talking with seriously enough to be a possible option in play.

Belfort made an unofficial visit to Penn State in April, with an official offer being extended at the time of the visit. Belfort already has a comprehensive collection of college offers that includes Alabama, Florida State, Miami (which was extended by Penn State defensive coordinator Manny Diaz in 2021 when Diaz was the head coach at Miami), Oregon, Texas A&M, Georgia, Tennessee, Michigan, Michigan State, and Florida.

As for a timeline for making a final college decision, Belfort told 247Sports he would like to have his decision made after his upcoming season, but he has not ruled out making a commitment earlier than that if he feels comfortable enough with his decision.

Penn State just added one of the nation’s top quarterbacks in the Class of 2022 with [autotag]Drew Allar[/autotag] and Penn State is set to welcome [autotag]AJ Locke[/autotag] as a preferred walk-on in the Class of 2023. Penn State lost a commitment from [autotag]Marcus Stokes[/autotag] in the Class of 2023 after stokes flipped his commitment to Florida, so there could be a bigger need to secure a talented quarterback in the Class of 2024 for [autotag]James Franklin[/autotag] and his staff.

Gators standing out for recently offered 2025 quarterback

After picking up an offer from the Gators in mid-June, 2025 QB Davi Belfort has the Gators high on his list.

Florida football entered the mix for 2025 quarterback recruit [autotag]Davi Belfort[/autotag], the son of MMA legend Vitor Belfort, by extending an offer on June 13, and that early attention seems to be paying off.

247Sports’ Jacob Rudner spoke with the Fort Lauderdale quarterback about his recent trip to Gainesville and gained some more insight on the visit. Belfort arrived on a Sunday night with his dad and a friend. He participated the UF camp on Monday and picked up the offer after hitting it off with [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and quarterbacks analyst [autotag]Ryan O’Hara[/autotag].

Napier invited the entire family back to see the school later in the month, and Belfort left with a favorable opinion of Florida, to say the least.

“They definitely are very high on the board,” Belfort said to Swamp247. “Between how they treated me, working with the coaches, I thought it was just really cool. Even though I have tons of time and a lot of things can change, theyā€™re definitely very high on my list.”

A rising sophomore, there’s no rush at all for Belfort to make a decision. A top 10 list within the next year might even be mature, but it’s okay to have favorites ā€” especially when Florida has made it clear that he’s a priority by making him the first quarterback offer in the class.

Napier’s influence is strong here, but that fits with the way he coaches. Quarterbacks are his to mold, and Belfort likes the idea of having the man in charge coaching him up at all times.

ā€œThatā€™s one thing I thought was really special,ā€ Belfort said. ā€œHeā€™s the head coach but heā€™s also the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator and I thought that was really cool. Iā€™ve never gotten that before and I love it. He would be there all the time to talk to me and coach me up.

An unforgettable trip to be sure, this is just the first chapter in the relationship. Half of the Southeastern Conference is already in pursuit, and dozens of programs will be after him in the coming years. A strong start could go a long way with this one.

Gators offer scholarship to standout 2025 QB, son of MMA legend

Florida is joining the race for 2025 QB Davi Belfort, the son of MMA legend Vitor Belfort.

Arch Manning might be the quarterback with the famous last name in the class of 2023, but there’s another name out of the class of 2025 starting to attract a lot of attention because of his play and family. While the name doesn’t hold the same football prestige as Manning’s does, [autotag]Davi Belfort[/autotag], son of MMA legend Vitor Belfort, is emerging as one of the top quarterbacks in his class early on.

The Fort Lauderdale, Florida, (Dillard High) recruit has been attending camps recently and was the top quarterback at a recent one held at the University of Florida, according to Corey Bender of Gators Online. He performed well enough to earn a scholarship offer from the Gators, officially entering Florida’s name into a race that already features Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Ole Miss, Oregon and Texas A&M.

The senior Belfort is known as one of the more explosive fighters in MMA history, winning 18 of his 26 fights via knockout. His 12 K.O.s in the UFC are good for second all-time in the promotion. His son won’t be doing much fighting though if all goes well.

During the camp, he got to work directly with coach Billy Napier and offensive analyst Ryan O’Hara. He thought it was unique to work directly with the man in charge at an event like this and didn’t take it lightly when he received the offer.

“They were telling me they donā€™t just throw offers out,” Belfort said. “They told me they have only offered one quarterback in the class of 2024 and Iā€™m the only quarterback they offered in the class of 2025. This offer means a lot to me.”

Napier and Co. like his tape and seeing him in person confirmed that he’s one of the more talented quarterbacks in his class and perhaps beyond. This will be one of the first recruits that Napier has a chance to cultivate a real relationship with before decision time is near, so it’ll be interesting to watch how this is played.

His stock should only go up as more schools get a look at him and grades come out for the class of 2025.

Georgia football offers talented freshman QB

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered freshman high school quarterback Davi Beflort,

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered freshman high school quarterback Davi Belfort. UGA offensive coordinator Todd Monken offered the scholarship to Belfort, who is currently unranked due to his young age.

Belfort plays high school football for Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound quarterback has offers from Oregon, Ole Miss, TCU, Texas A&M, and many more.

Davi Belfort previously played high school football for Cardinal Newman High School. He had 28 touchdowns as a freshman and has a powerful arm. Belfort has good, but not elite mobility and speed. He will look to add to his frame in the upcoming years before playing college football.

In his highlights, the unranked quarterback prospect shows accurate ball placement and steady footwork.
