UFC Fight Night 239 fighters took home UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay, a program that continued after the UFC’s deal with Venum.
LAS VEGAS – Fighters from Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 239 event took home UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay totaling $189,500.
The program, a comprehensive plan that includes outfitting requirements, media obligations and other items under the fighter code of conduct, replaces the previous payments made under the UFC Athlete Outfitting Policy.
UFC Fight Night 239 took place at the UFC Apex. The entire card streamed on ESPN+.

Under the UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance program’s payout tiers, which appropriate the money generated by Venum’s multi-year sponsorship with the UFC, fighters are paid based on their total number of UFC bouts, as well as Zuffa-era WEC fights (January 2007 and later) and Zuffa-era Strikeforce bouts (April 2391 and later). Fighters with 1-3 bouts receive $4,000 per appearance; 4-5 bouts get $4,500; 6-10 bouts get $6,000; 11-15 bouts earn $11,000; 16-20 bouts pocket $16,000; and 21 bouts and more get $21,000. Additionally, champions earn $42,000 while title challengers get $32,000.
In addition to experience-based pay, UFC fighters will receive in perpetuity royalty payments amounting to 20-30 percent of any UFC merchandise sold that bears their likeness, according to officials.

Here are the fight announcements that were broken or confirmed by MMA Junkie or officially announced by the promotions from Jan. 22-28.
Six fights including multiple double-digit UFC veterans have been added to the March 16 event in Las Vegas.
Six more fights have been added to the UFC Fight Night event scheduled for March 16 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Five of the six bouts were officially announced Tuesday by the promotion, while the six was revealed on social media by the fighters involved.
The event is currently headlined by a heavyweight bout between Tai Tuivasa (15-6 MMA, 8-6 UFC) and Marcin Tybura (24-8 MMA, 11-7 UFC). Light heavyweights Kennedy Nzechukwu (12-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) and Ovince Saint Preux (26-17 MMA, 14-12 UFC) will also fight each other on the card.
Angel Pacheco wore his heart on his sleeve after a hard-fought loss at Dana White’s Contender Series – and that resonated with the UFC boss.
It’s almost unheard of for fighters who lose on Dana White’s Contender Series to be awarded a UFC contract. In fact, prior to last Tuesday’s event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, it had only happened once in the series’ history.
Last week, however, UFC CEO [autotag]Dana White[/autotag] awarded two defeated fighters UFC deals. One of those deals went to featherweight [autotag]Angel Pacheco[/autotag], who lost an all-time battle against [autotag]Danny Silva[/autotag].
The decision to award him a contract was triggered by an emotional backstage conversation between White and a heartbroken Pacheco.
“When I went back there, his ear is hanging off. He’s crying,” White told MMA Junkie and other reporters at a post-fight news conference. “He looks at me … I told him, ‘I’m going to pay your your win money.’ He (couldn’t) give a f*ck that I’m going to give him his win money. He’s crying and he said, ‘I wanted to win this fight so bad. I want to be in the UFC so bad. If there’s ever a late minute pullout or anything, please think of me.’
“I said, ‘Oh yeah.’ I said, ‘Dude, you are right up my alley. We’re going to pay you your win money.’ I went back and told the boys, ‘We’re signing this kid.’ If you want to be in the UFC that bad, if you want to win this fight that bad, how bad do you think he wants to win his first UFC fight?'”
On Monday, Pacheco’s manager and coach, Tyson Chartier, of Top Game Management, posted a video of the backstage interaction that persuaded White to go double-contract for the same DWCS bout. Check out the video below:

LAS VEGAS – MMA Junkie is on scene reporting live from Tuesday’s Dana White’s Contender Series 64 event.
Dana White’s Contender Series cards see prospects fighting for the opportunity to sign a UFC deal, with UFC CEO Dana White on hand to make the decisions. And as has been the theme of the season, White was plenty generous in handing on contracts on arguably the best episode of the season so far.
White signed a season record six fighters to deals, including headliner Danny Barlow, who destroyed Raheam Forest with a flurry of strikes just 79 seconds into their welterweight matchup.
In addition to Barlow, White did not hold back on the deals. He signed multiple losing fighters. Contracts were issued to Danny Silva and Angel Pacheco after their unanimous decision brawl, which Silva won by unanimous decision. Ernesta Kareckaite and Carli Judice, who fought to a split decision with Kareckaite winning, were both signed. And, finally, Vinicius Oliveira, who scored one of the best knockouts of the year in the opening fight of the evening.

Dana White’s Contender Series, Season 7 is in the works.
DWCS debuted in 2017 with an eight-episode inaugural season. Season 2 was held in 2018 with eight episodes, followed by a three-episode DWCS: Brasil. In 2019, DWCS was extended to 10 episodes for its third season. The length was repeated in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
Each season, the number of fighters signed has increased. Thus far, the show has produced UFC notables including Sean O’Malley, Maycee Barber, Geoff Neal, Ryan Spann, Sodiq Yusuff, Jamahal Hill, Taila Santos, Johnny Walker, Alex Perez, Bo Nickal, Jailton Almeida, Jack Della Maddalena, and Marina Rodriguez among others.
In recent weeks, the UFC matchmakers have been gearing up for a summer DWCS return, expected to launch Aug. 8. Athletes and matchups have slowly but surely been booked. The number of episodes for Season 7 is not yet known.
