UFC Fight Night 250 video: Terrance McKinney overwhelms Damir Hadzovic for quick TKO

Terrance McKinney has 16 career wins and 15 first-round finishes after dispatching of Damir Hadzovic at UFC Saudi Arabia.

[autotag]Terrance McKinney[/autotag] showed once again that his first wave of offence is tough to deal with when he put [autotag]Damir Hadzovic[/autotag] away early at UFC Fight Night 250.

It was short work for McKinney (16-7 MMA, 6-4 UFC) in the lightweight bout at ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He stung Hadzovic (14-8 MMA, 4-6 UFC) with the hands early and forced his opponent to try to grapple. “T-Rex” countered with a guillotine attempt, which led to a reversal into top mount where he unleashed elbows and punches until the referee stepped in at the 2:01 mark of Round 1.

Check out the replay of McKinney’s handiwork below (via X):

With the win, McKinney kept his 100 percent career stoppage rate in tact. He has earned all 15 of his victories inside the first round (including all six in the UFC), and after changing camps prior to this performance, the 30-year-old said he hopes this is the start of meeting his full potential.

“I took a change, moved to Orlando, Florida, and you guys see me reap the blessings of my hard work,” McKinney said in his post-fight interview with Paul Felder. “I’d like to fight Chris Duncan next. Baby, let’s get it.”

UFC Fight Night 208 post-event facts: Molly McCann’s second spinning elbow makes history

Molly McCann owns two of six spinning elbow knockouts in UFC history after UFC Fight Night 208.

The UFC’s encore in London did not live up to the standards of its visit to the city earlier this year. Nine of the 14 bouts at UFC Fight Night 208 on Saturday at The O2 went to a decision.

The heavyweight main event capped off in disappointing fashion when [autotag]Tom Aspinall[/autotag] (12-3 MMA, 5-1 UFC) suffered a knee injury just 15 seconds into the fight, giving [autotag]Curtis Blaydes[/autotag] (17-3 MMA, 12-3 UFC) a TKO victory.

Marc Diakiese signs new four-fight UFC deal, meets Damir Hadzovic in London

Marc Diakiese has signed a new fight and a new UFC deal.

[autotag]Marc Diakiese[/autotag] has signed a new fight and a new UFC deal.

Per a news release, Diakiese inked a four-fight deal and meets [autotag]Damir Hadzovic[/autotag] on July 23 at UFC Fight Night in London. Promotion officials confirmed the news Tuesday morning after an initial report by The Sun.

In his past outing in March, Diakiese (15-5 MMA, 6-5 UFC) snapped a two-fight losing skid by bouncing Viacheslav Borshchev out of the ranks of the unbeaten with a heavy grappling approach at UFC on ESPN 33. The 29-year-old had fought out his contract and will face Hadzovic in the first fight of his new deal.

Meanwhile, Hadzovic (14-6 MMA, 4-4 UFC) also recently got back in the win column after dropping two straight. “The Bosnian Bomber” is coming off a unanimous decision win over Yancy Medeiros at UFC Fight Night 190 last June.

With the addition, the UFC London lineup includes:

  • Curtis Blaydes vs. Tom Aspinall
  • Jack Hermansson vs. Darren Till
  • Charles Johnson vs. Muhammad Mokaev
  • Alexander Gustafsson vs. Nikita Krylov
  • Hannah Goldy vs. Molly McCann
  • Paul Craig vs. Volkan Oezdemir
  • Makwan Amirkhani vs. Jonathan Pearce
  • Marc Diakiese vs. Damir Hadzovic

Yancy Medeiros vs. Damir Hadzovic rebooked for UFC Fight Night on June 26

The matchup between Yancy Medeiros and Damir Hadzovic has a new date.

The matchup between [autotag]Yancy Medeiros[/autotag] and [autotag]Damir Hadzovic[/autotag] has a new date.

Medeiros (15-7 MMA, 6-7 UFC) vs. Hadzovic (13-6 MMA, 3-4 UFC) has been rescheduled for UFC Fight Night on June 26, which takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup informed MMA Junkie of the rebooking Saturday, but asked to remain anonymous because the promotion has yet to make it official.

The pair initially was scheduled to square off at UFC Fight Night 188 on May 22, but the fight was scrapped on the day of the event when Hadzovic had to pull out due to an illness. Hadzovic released a statement claiming a non-COVID virus had him battling a fever and a sore throat.

Medeiros, who recently moved back down to lightweight, will look to snap a three-fight losing skid. Hadzovic also will be looking to get back to the win column after dropping back-to-back fights to Christos Giagos and, most recently, a submission loss to Renato Moicano in March.

With the addition, the UFC’s June 26 lineup now includes:

  • Ciryl Gane vs. Alexander Volkov
  • Maxim Grishin vs. Ovince Saint Preux
  • Tim Elliott vs. Su Mudaerji
  • Michel Prazeres vs. Shavkat Rakhmonov
  • Justin Jaynes vs. Charles Rosa
  • Ed Herman vs. Danilo Marques
  • Raoni Barcelos vs. Timur Valiev
  • Jai Herbert vs. Renato Moicano
  • Marcin Prachnio vs. Ike Villanueva
  • Warlley Alves vs. Ramazan Emeev
  • Damir Hadzovic vs. Yancy Medeiros
