Notre Dame has two commits named to MaxPreps All-America Team

MaxPreps named two Notre Dame football commits, Dallas Golden and Mark Zackery IV, to its 2024 All-America Team.

It’s not just current Notre Dame football players getting preseason recognition, some of the recruits are as well.

MaxPreps announced its 2024 preseason All-America team and two Irish commits made the cut. On the first-team offense is [autotag]Dallas Golden[/autotag], listed as the first team all-purpose player. Zack Poff, who complied the list, noted that the two-way star accounted for “1,800-plus total yards and 24 touchdowns to go with five interceptions on defense.” He’s been recruited as a defensive back.

The second Notre Dame commit that made the list is another all-purpose player in [autotag]Mark Zackery IV[/autotag], but on the second team. He’s also committed to the Irish as a defensive back, where he picked off four passes, but also had “53 receptions for 823 yards and eight touchdowns on offense,” Poff pointed out.

There is potential for a third, as uncommitted linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng had the second team defense. It’s hard to get a read on his recruitment since summer visits, but we know that Notre Dame is still an option for Jeremiah Owusu-Koromoah’s younger brother.

Great news for the Irish

In this era of college football, flips and decommitments are extremely common and like every other school, Notre Dame has to fend off others to keep its committed players.

At the current moment, Notre Dame has 21 total commitments in a class that is ranked No. 3 nationally by the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.

Notre Dame lands a commitment from 2025 Florida safety

The Irish land one of the nations best 2025 recruits

Notre Dame football has been doing a great job of recruiting the 2025 cycle and once again they won a battle for an elite prospect.

The Irish landed a commitment from Florida safety [autotag]Dallas Golden[/autotag], as he picked Notre Dame over Florida State, Clemson, and Georgia. Considered as one of the best recruits in the country, he ranks as the No 95 overall player and 11th safety according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

One of the reasons why Golden was so sought after was his versatility, as he is ranked as a safety but could play cornerback as well. His 6-foot and 176-pound frame is more in line with playing on the outside as opposed to the back end of the Irish defense.

Golden is the 20th total commitment of the class and pushes the Irish back to the top of the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.

See Notre Dame commits and targets during massive junior weekend

This photo is the beginning of a massive weekend for the Irish

Like many schools, Notre Dame has started to host junior days for the 2025 recruiting class.

Multiple Irish commits and targets will be in South Bend this weekend and the festivities have already begun. In a picture shared by 247Sports Tom Loy, you can see commits safety Ethan Long, cornerback Cree Thomas, defensive tackle Davion Dixon, running back Justin Thurman and quarterback Deuce Knight all trying to woo uncommitted defensive back [autotag]Dallas Golden[/autotag].

The Floridian they are trying to help lure to the Notre Dame class is one of the best in the country, ranking as the No. 10 safety and 101st overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Golden doesn’t have the typical frame that the Irish have recruited for the position, at 6-feet and 175-pounds, but his game speaks for itself and Notre Dame would welcome him joining the class.

UGA football offers 2025 ATH Dallas Golden

The Georgia Bulldogs are one of the recent college football programs to offer four-star athlete Dallas Golden

The Georgia Bulldogs are one of the latest college football programs to extend a scholarship offer to class of 2025 athlete Dallas Golden. Golden is ranked as a four-star athlete.

The 6-foot-1, 165-pound athlete is the No. 179 recruit in the sophomore class. Dallas Golden is the ninth-ranked athlete in the country and the No. 31 recruit in Florida, per 247Sports.

Golden plays high school football for Berkeley Prep in Tampa, Florida. The 2025 athlete has excellent versatility. Golden has recent scholarship offers from Iowa, Texas A&M, Duke, and Michigan.

The four-star athlete has taken a visit to Florida State this year. The biggest question regarding Golden is what position will he play at the next level?

In high school, Dallas Golden returns punts, plays cornerback, safety, running back, and more. Coaches love versatility and players that can contribute on special teams. Based on the Georgia football coaches recruiting Golden, the Bulldogs may consider him to be a defensive back prospect.

Kirby Smart and Georgia football have the nation’s best class of 2025. The Dawgs have commitments from four five-star recruits in the current sophomore class.

Dallas Golden announced his scholarship offer from defensive backs coach Fran Brown and Georgia football via social media:

Iowa Hawkeyes offer 4-star 2025 ATH Dallas Golden

Four-star class of 2025 athlete Dallas Golden out of Berkeley Prep in Tampa, Fla., picked up an offer from the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The Iowa Hawkeyes extended an offer to class of 2025 athlete Dallas Golden out of Berkeley Prep in Tampa, Fla. Emphasis on the word athlete.

The 6-foot-1, 175 pound prospect really could play all over. According to MaxPreps, he registered 1,403 rushing yards with 18 touchdowns on 191 carries last season at Berkeley Prep. He also reeled in 10 grabs for 145 yards and one score.

Still, there’s a thought he could be a defensive player at the next level by many. For example, Kevin Sinclair of Irish Illustrated reported that Notre Dame has so far pursued Golden on defense.

That jives with On3‘s recruiting rankings, which places Golden as a four-star prospect, as the nation’s No. 59 player overall, as the No. 4 safety, and as the No. 11 player from Florida in the 2025 class.

Golden is rated as the country’s No. 30 athlete and as the No. 44 player from Florida per 247Sports.

Iowa joins Cincinnati, Duke, Florida State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCF, West Virginia, and Wisconsin as Power 5 programs that have offered Golden.

It seems like Iowa is thinking running back for Golden given that he tagged Iowa running backs coach Ladell Betts in his Hawkeye offer tweet. Again, Golden could play all over for the black and gold, though.

Here’s a look at his sophomore season Hudl highlights. Plus, a look at his full recruiting profile and offers.
