The Seattle Seahawks suffered an upset loss at the hands of the New York Giants in Week 13, falling to the G Men 17-12. After the defeat, the Seahawks are now 8-4 on the year.

In addition to losing the ballgame, Seattle also suffered a couple of minor injuries during the matchup, including to right tackle Jamarco Jones – already the third-string player who was in at the position.

Jones was ruled out due to a groin injury late in the contest and Chad Wheeler was sent in off the bench.

Coach Pete Carroll confirmed Jones had pulled his groin during his postgame press conference.

Wide receiver Tyler Lockett took a hit to the head early in the game and went to the medical tent to be evaluated. He went through a quick concussion test and was cleared to play and re-entered the matchup.

Texans WR Brandin Cooks being evaluated for a concussion against the Colts

Houston Texans receiver Brandin Cooks is being evaluated for a concussion against the Indianapolis Colts.

Houston Texans receiver Brandin Cooks is being evaluated for a concussion after a collision he sustained with Indianapolis Colts defensive back Kenny Moore in the third quarter.

As Moore hit Cooks, who was attempting to catch a pass from quarterback Deshaun Watson, the receiver sustained a lick that caused him to lose possession of the football. Moore took it away for an interception.

The Texans are already down receiver Will Fuller, who announced his suspension on Nov. 30. However, in the absence of Fuller and possibly Cooks, receivers Keke Coutee and Chad Hansen have stepped up to provide reliable targets for Watson.

Saints rule out LG Andrus Peat (concussion) vs. Falcons

The New Orleans Saints ruled out left guard Andrus Peat with a concussion during Week 11’s game with the Atlanta Falcons.

The New Orleans Saints announced that left guard Andrus Peat will not return to Week 11’s game with the Atlanta Falcons after entering NFL concussion protocol. It’s at least the second brain injury reported for him after he suffered a concussion in 2018.

Veteran backup Nick Easton filled in for him at left guard while rookie draft pick Cesar Ruiz remained at right guard. Easton himself missed a few weeks after he was concussed in a game earlier this season. The good news is that he’s played left guard extensively in relief of Peat this year already, logging 121 snaps there while lining up at right guard on 173 plays going into Sunday’s matchup.

Several Saints players have dealt with concussions recently, including Easton; tight end Josh Hill was ruled out for this Falcons game while remaining in league protocol after exiting last week’s contest with a brain injury. Wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith also stepped out with a concussion, though he was able to return. These injuries are always different and there’s no way of knowing when the Saints will have all hands back on deck.

Ethan Pocic out, Kyler Fuller questionable at center for Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks are banged up at the center spot ahead of Arizona Week 10 with Ethan Pocic out and Kyler Fuller with an ankle injury.

[jwplayer oCIigLR6-ThvAeFxT]

Seattle Seahawks center Ethan Pocic missed last week’s matchup due to a concussion and was unable to clear the protocol in time to return during the short week ahead of the Arizona Cardinals contest Thursday night.

Kyler Fuller, who subbed in for Pocic against the Rams, sustained an injury of his own Week 10 and is listed as questionable on Wednesday’s injury report with a sore ankle.

Coach Pete Carroll, however, is hopeful Fuller can pull through to face Arizona.

“He’s going to be ready to go in the game,” Carroll said after the walkthrough. “We’ll see how good he is on game day, but he went through all the prep on the sides. We rested him on the short week and he did a really nice job the first time out, so he’ll be out there if we need him.”

The inactives will be released 90 minutes prior to kickoff Thursday night, which is scheduled for 5:20 p.m. PT.

Saints TE Josh Hill (concussion) ruled out late vs. 49ers

New Orleans Saints tight end Josh Hill was ruled out for the rest of Week 10’s game with the San Francisco 49ers with a concussion.

The hits keep coming for the New Orleans Saints. After ruling out receiver Tre’Quan Smith earlier with a concussion and announcing that quarterback Drew Brees was questionable to return with a ribs injury, the Saints added that starting tight end Josh Hill is also out for the game while going through league concussion protocol.

It’s a big loss. Last year, Saints coach Sean Payton had to make some big adjustments to his playsheet when Hill was concussed in a game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Afterwards, he characterized the loss as, “Like losing your front door. All of a sudden there are 58 plays on the call sheet and he was involved in a lot of them, so we spent a lot of time trying to re-personnel group some of our plays — which ones we still want to run and which ones can we not run.”

Fortunately, the Saints have a fill-in at the ready in rookie draft pick Adam Trautman. Trautman caught his first career touchdown pass last week and could help handle some of Hill’s responsibilities, as could veteran pass-catching specialist Jared Cook. Hopefully this isn’t a major injury for Hill.

Saints rule out WR Tre’Quan Smith (concussion) to return vs. 49ers

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith exited the first half of his game with the San Francisco 49ers with a concussion.

The New Orleans Saints announced that third-year wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith would not return to their Week 10 game with the San Francisco 49ers, and that he was entering the NFL concussion protocol.

Smith dropped a pass while hand-fighting with one 49ers defensive back before another opponent, 49ers safety Jimmie Ward, slammed into both of them to break up the pass. Ward’s shoulder collided with Smith’s facemask and he fell to the turf.

It was a scary scene. Smith was initially non-responsive and lay prone as Saints medical trainers attended to him, signaling for a cart to come out. But Smith was able to return to his feet and carefully walked off the field and directly into the Saints locker room.

Additionally, the Saints announced that starting nose tackle Malcom Brown was questionable to return with a calf injury.

Lions’ Hunter Bryant returns to practice, begins 21-day evaluation window

Detroit Lions’ rookie tight end Hunter Bryant, who is currently on injured reserve, returns to practice today and begins a 21-day evaluation period.

Detroit Lions’ rookie tight end Hunter Bryant has been bitten by the injury bug at the beginning of his NFL career. After just a week of training camp, Bryant injured his hamstring and it was significant enough to keep him out through the Lions bye in Week 5. Ready to return to action post-bye, Bryant then suffered a concussion, which landed him on injured reserve.

Today, Bryant is healthy enough to begin partaking in football activities again, and he will participate in Wednesday’s practice. This will start a 21-day evaluation period where the Lions will use practices to determine if he is healthy enough to return to the active roster.

Bryant is eligible to return to the active roster at any time during the evaluation period, and for the time being, he will remain on injured reserve. If he is activated, the Lions would have to make a corresponding move to make space for him on the 53-man roster.

If the Lions determine he is not healthy enough to return to the active roster, they can either put him on season-ending injured reserve or release him from his contract.

Considering how long the Lions have kept him on the active roster, despite not playing an NFL down, it’s a safe assumption that the team will do their best to get him on the field as soon as possible.

Texans G Senio Kelemete being evaluated for a concussion against the Jaguars

Houston Texans guard Senio Kelemete is being evaluated for a concussion against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9.

The bad luck with injuries just continues for the Houston Texans as they lead 13-7 against the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday in Week 9 at TIAA Bank Field.

Guard Senio Kelemete is being evaluated for a concussion. It would be one thing if this weren’t a position that already took a ding during the bye week when guard Max Scharping tested positive for COVID-19 and was placed on the COVID-19 reserve.

The Texans elevated Greg Mancz from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of the game. Playing in Kelemete’s place for now is Brent Qvale.

Texans RB David Johnson being evaluated for a concussion versus the Jaguars

Houston Texans running back David Johnson is being evaluated for a concussion against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Houston Texans running back David Johnson is being evaluated for a concussion.

The former 2016 All-Pro sustained a hit on a third-and-3 incomplete pass in the first quarter and was slow to get up off the turf at TIAA Bank Field.

The Texans did not provide an update on the likelihood of his return against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Saints inactive list, Week 8: Who isn’t dressing out vs. Bears

The New Orleans Saints will not be joined by Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders among other inactive players against the Chicago Bears.

Kickoff between the New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears at a windy Soldier Field is almost an hour away, so both teams have reported their inactive lists following pregame warmups.

A couple of players were ruled out previously due to injuries and other absences. The Saints are running without three of their top four receivers, including starting wideouts Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, as well as starting right guard Nick Easton (still battling concussion symptoms after exiting Oct. 12’s win over the Chargers). The breakout star of last week’s victory against the Panthers, Marquez Callaway, was also ruled out after suffering a minor ankle injury in the game’s closing minutes.

Meanwhile, the Bears won’t have Pro Bowl center Cody Whitehair snapping the ball to Nick Foles during the afternoon. He exited their loss to the Rams last Monday night with a calf injury, which kept him out of practice throughout the week. But they will welcome the return of No. 1 wide receiver Allen Robinson after he cleared concussion protocol on Saturday.

Here’s the full breakdown of inactive players for both sides:

From the Saints

  • WR Michael Thomas (hamstring)
  • WR Marquez Callaway (ankle)
  • OL Nick Easton (concussion)
  • WR Emmanuel Sanders (COVID-19 reserve)
  • CB Ken Crawley
  • S DJ Swearinger
  • OL Derrick Kelly
  • DL Malcolm Roach

From the Bears

  • OL Cody Whitehair (calf)
  • WR Ted Ginn Jr.
  • DB Duke Shelley
  • RB Artavis Pierce
  • WR Riley Ridley
